Little Johnny has a hard time paying attention, forgets things, talks too much, fidgets all the time, has trouble taking turns, acts and speaks without thinking, is easily distracted and does not seem to listen. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 4.4 million school-aged children suffer from these kinds of behaviors or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (http://www. cdc. gov/ncbddd/adhd/facts. html) (ADHD). ADHD is the most common neurobehavioral disorders of childhood states the CDC website. The Minnesota Department of Health (http://www. health. state. mn. us/divs/cfh/na/factsheets/mcshn/childdev. html), Children with Special Health Needs Fact Sheet, states "Parents of children with risk factors linked to developmental problems report greater frustration with their children's behavior than parents of children without such risk factors." Frustrated parents can find help in a new video and free tip sheet from allergy cookbook author, Lisa A. Lundy, which you can download free from her website at http://www. TheSuperAllergyCookbook. com (http://www. TheSuperAllergyCookbook. com).

Lundy's book, The Super Allergy Girl™ Allergy & Celiac Cookbook - From A Mother Who Knows™, is a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, peanut free, tree nut free and other allergen free cookbook that is often used by parents who are trying the gluten-free and dairy-free diet for ADHD, ADD, autism spectrum disorders, behavior issues, emotional meltdowns, and learning issues with their children. Prior to publishing the cookbook, Lundy spent many hours at the local medical library researching food allergies and health. Some of this research Lundy has released in the form of white papers to help the average consumer understand safe, non-invasive ways to be healthy, which are available on her website.

Her personal connection to ADHD began when she noticed that her oldest son lost his ability to mentally focus, copy letters, and had become very clumsy after eating meals with gluten and dairy when he was nearly 5 years old. Lundy experimented with his diet and found that she could literally change his ability to think, process information, his attention and his physical agility. Having never heard of dietary intervention or dietary therapy, Lundy thought that this was a revelation until she discovered at the medical library that Hippocrates had written that food had the potential to injure some people. "There is more science on how dietary changes can improve health and resolve health issues than any parent would care to read or even know about," Lundy said. "The Feingold® Association of the United States has many studies on their website, http://www. Feingold. org (http://www. Feingold. org), however there are many more studies if you include the ones on gluten and casein."

Lundy's second child has celiac disease, an autoimmune disease that necessitates a gluten-free diet. Her daughter, Anne, has IgE mediated or life-threatening food allergies to milk, eggs, peanuts and some tree nuts. In addition to food allergies, Anne has serious health issues resulting from the inability of her body to absorb vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids, all of which are critical to health. Lundy and her husband, Randy Garrett, have gone to great lengths to understand Anne's underlying medical problems, efforts which have proven fruitful. Three years ago, Anne was a modern-day bubble child unable to go many places. Today she has improved dramatically and is on her way to a complete recovery.
