Your Teen has been Expelled From School. Now What?

For many parents who learn that their teen has been expelled from school, this is devastating news. They see the hopes and dreams for their teen disappear before their eyes. The initial fear is often the concern about whether this indiscretion will follow the teen into adulthood, by influencing college acceptance and job potential. Susie will no longer be accepted to the state university and have the opportunity to study animal science. What will Susie do? But what parents need to be asking is what can I do as a parent to deal with the expulsion and resurrect my child's future?

For many parents who learn that their teen has been expelled from school, this is devastating news. They see the hopes and dreams for their teen disappear before their eyes. The initial fear is often the concern about whether this indiscretion will follow the teen into adulthood, by influencing college acceptance and job potential. Susie will no longer be accepted to the state university and have the opportunity to study animal science. What will Susie do? But what parents need to be asking is what can I do as a parent to deal with the expulsion and resurrect my child's future?

Teens who have been expelled are often good kids who can benefit from treatment programs

Often teens who are expelled from boarding schools and other educational programs are bright kids who have a lot of potential yet they enter into the type of behavior that necessitates separating them from the other students.

While a teen is in school, he or she has access to school counselors, teachers and other education specialists who can give parents direction as to which behaviors are normal and which show a need for help. When a teen is suspended or expelled, parents can get help from these sources and also get recommendations for other mental health professionals who can help. Some parents choose to hire an educational consultant to identify their teen's specific needs and suggest schools or programs designed specifically to deal with the teen's emotional and behavioral issues.

A parent should not feel like a failure for resorting to alternative resources. Some teens need additional structure and intervention to regain control of their lives.

Explore causes of your teen's self-defeating behavior

Warning signs of an impending expulsion are not often evident. Parents are not always aware of what is happening with their teen at school. Since teenagers learn to master the art of pretending, or manipulation, parents' only insight may be what their teen chooses to share, which may not provide enough information to alert them to the teen's troubling behaviors. Teachers and guidance counselors are great resources to observe changes in behavior, but often by the time a parent hears from them it is too late and expulsion has occurred.

Parents can be proactive and speak regularly with school staff to become aware of any problems that are not evident in the home, and to work closely with the teen to help them overcome the problem, such as bad influences from a new peer group. Therefore, providing your child the best opportunity for change gives them a chance to rebuild.

Behaviors like declining grades, withdrawal, substance abuse, sexual acting out, defiance of authority, skipping school, and fighting, if addressed quickly may only be a bump in the road and quickly resolved. Parents may not think the teen's behavior is unusual for his age and that he or she will grow out of it, but it is important that parents do not condone the behavior by making excuses for their teen, as it only reinforces the negative behavior. If the behavior is left unaddressed, it may escalate into more devious behavior resulting in incarceration or death. If your teen is aggressive, argumentative, or withdrawn, and his or her behaviors are upsetting to the family, it is time to seek help.

Importance of taking immediate action

Blaming yourself or your teen for their expulsion from school does not solve the problem. Do not feel like a failure for resorting to other resources such as therapy, changing schools or pulling your teen out of their environment and placing them in a therapeutic boarding school or residential treatment facility. Some teens need additional structure to regain control of their lives. Understand that it takes time for parents to process and accept the expulsion, but know the quicker you respond, the greater the chance for change.

After expulsion, seek appropriate treatment and/or placement for your teen

Treatment and counseling for dealing with a teen's emotional and behaviorial disorders are recommended by mental health professionals. Parents are encouraged to look at options such as enrolling the teen in a local private school, a military school, wilderness or correctional boot camp, residential treatment center or therapeutic boarding school.

Residential therapeutic boarding schools have been proven to achieve success in changing the lives of struggling teens. Many offer 24/7 structured treatment programs and therapies specifically designed to meet the needs of teens. Some residential programs also provide accredited academic curriculums that enable the teen to continue to earn credits toward graduation.

A therapeutic boarding school combines boarding school with clinical treatment for behavioral and emotional health issues. Therapeutic programs utilize highly structured settings, counseling, therapy and outdoor adventure activities to help teens address underlying causes for inappropriate behavior and to teach positive and healthy life skills. These facilities offer a safe environment for out-of-control teens to learn how to correct inappropriate conduct and become healthy responsible young adults. Successful outcomes can be achieved when the teen is enrolled in a residential therapeutic program for a period of six months to a year.

Why choose a therapeutic boarding school?

The value of structure and nurturing therapists in a distraction-free environment provides teens the opportunity to deal with temptations, stressors, and irresponsible choices.

If a parent is fortunate enough to have the resources to afford a therapeutic boarding school, it may make all the difference. Private residential school settings, like Ironwood School and Residential Treatment Center (RTC), provide a safe structured setting where the teen is removed from their friends and other negative influences and then can focus on healing themselves with the entrusted help and guidance of a nurturing therapeutic staff.

Issues are dealt with in effective ways at residential therapeutic boarding schools

Drug or alcohol abuse, sexual acting out, rule breaking and other negative behaviors are dealt with in effective ways with the help of qualified therapists at Ironwood School and RTC. The therapeutic boarding school is effective because the teen is immersed in the environment of the school, and the entire environment is therapeutic, with individualized treatment programs tailored to each child's needs. The teen learns to accomplish tasks while working with a group, learns communication and leadership skills, and learns responsibility as they take care of various farm animals while carefully supervised by trained staff. In addition, licensed professional clinical staff provides individual, family, and group therapy.

Ironwood accepts crisis admissions 24/7, 365 days a year

Ironwood School and RTC is the first choice of college prep boarding and day schools for teens needing more services and structure.

Ironwood is able to provide troubled teens an opportunity to explore underlying causes of self-defeating behavior while simultaneously receiving a college prep education. Ironwood's approach to behavior modification and education combine the skills and tools necessary to ensure success. Ironwood accepts incoming students Monday through Sunday year round.

Our Favorite Health Products, LLC's New Website Promotes the Maintenance of a Healthy Lifestyle

Our Favorite Health Products, LLC's New Website Promotes the Maintenance of a Healthy Lifestyle

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is more important than ever in light of the current healthcare crisis. A healthy lifestyle affects not only the quality of life of one person, but also the quality of life of everyone who comes in contact with that person. With loss of medical coverage becoming more common and the cost ever rising, the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle is a concern of us all. A new venture, Our Favorite Health Products, LLC, has been formed by a group of individuals who for many years have believed that a person's lifestyle can be improved with the daily use of efficacious dietary supplements. OurFHP sells the products the owners use and provides product information.

Millbrook, New York (PRWEB) July 10, 2009

A healthy lifestyle is not necessarily an active lifestyle, although that can also be beneficial. A healthy lifestyle is one where the body functions well and the body's need for vitamins and other supplements lacking in our normal diet is addressed. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is more important than ever as it affects not only the quality of life of one person, but also the quality of life of everyone who comes in contact with that person. Loss of medical coverage has become more common and healthcare costs are ever rising; the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle is a significant concern for us all.

Our Favorite Health Products, LLC was recently formed by a group which for many years has believed that a person's lifestyle can be improved with the daily use of efficacious dietary supplements, modest eating modification, and avoiding being too much overweight. OurFHP markets the products we use and have found effective. The site, http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com), will also provide product information and reviews.

The group believes that the basic tools for the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle are: a fiber supplement, Konsyl Original (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com/Konsyl_s/1.htm); a laxative, SennaPrompt (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com/SennaPrompt_s/2.htm), for occasional use; a probiotic to treat lactose intolerance, DairyCare (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com/Dairy_Care_s/3.htm), for those that need it; an omega-3 fish oil, Nordic Naturals (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com/Nordic_Naturals_s/4.htm); a selection of multivitamins with added micronutrients, Premier Micronutrient (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com/Premier_Micronutrients_s/6.htm); vitamin D3; a calcium supplement for women and skin care products, L'Erbolario (http://www. ourfavoritehealthproducts. com/L_Erbolario_s/5.htm), for the maintenance and protection of skin, the body's largest and most exposed organ.

"Using dietary supplements in moderation, we give ourselves a better chance of a healthy life," said Owen Potter. "Combining the basic supplements with modest diet modification is even better," he added. "From a healthcare point of view, a healthy lifestyle is a good economic decision; spending savings to cover medical costs always hurts."

Chris Janelli has spent the past decade working in the dietary supplement and preventive care areas. He has spent significant time studying the role of natural antioxidants and antioxidant supplements and their crucial role in scavenging free radicals and reducing bodily inflammation. He has also studied the influence of diet in supporting good health and the implications of diet based on nutrigenomics, the interaction of your genes and the food you eat.

Ellen and Owen Potter have been advocates of healthy life styles for most of their professional careers. While exercise has been an important part of their daily lives, the use of supplements began gradually. The changes they noticed immediately led them to research and discover what makes them feel energized and balanced. Shareholders in the largest independently owned health facility in the country, both Ellen and Owen are committed to good health and are actively interested in sharing their information to improve the lives of others.

John Oram has 30 years experience in generic drugs, OTC pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements. He was involved in the development of DairyCare and the purchase of Konsyl Pharmaceuticals by its current owner. He believes a healthy lifestyle is fundamental for a good quality of life and a calm digestive tract is the first step.

(PRWEB) April 23, 2005

Around the country, diabetes affects an estimated 18.2 million Americans, and the number rises each year. To briefly explain, diabetes is a malfunction of the Langehans Glands, situated in the Pancreas, to produce Insulin. Insulin enables the body to dissolve the sugar into energy for the muscles. So, for a diabetic patient, the sugar stays in the blood. That causes the body tissues to get tender and they start deteriorating faster than normal. There are two type of diabetes:

TYPE I DIABETES – usually occurs in children and young adults, but can develop at any age. People with type I diabetes need insulin every day.

TYPE II DIABETES – usually occurs in adults who overweight, are in their middle or later years, and have family members with diabetes. Many people can control this type of diabetes with diet, weight loss, and exercise. Some will also need diabetes pills or insulin.

To take care of type I or type II diabetes, a person needs to eat healthy foods, exercise, take medicine if it is prescribed, and see a doctor on a regular basis. Without diagnosis and treatment, diabetes may result in long-term complications, such as blindness, heart attack, stroke, kidney disease or amputation.

In the United States, about 100 billion dollars are spent on diabetes care in every year.

According to a Clark County research in 1999 (Source: http://www. ag. unr. edu/uced/reports/technicalreports/fy1998_1999/9899_03rpt. pdf (http://www. ag. unr. edu/uced/reports/technicalreports/fy1998_1999/9899_03rpt. pdf)), on average, patients seeking medical treatment for diabetes directly spend 3.7 times more per year than patients seeking routine medical treatment, $10,071 compared to $2,669. This can be a substantial cost for some family with diabetes sufferer among their family members. For these family, any source of low cost medical supplies must be a most welcome option for them.

The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog Warns All Investors About Iran Nukes, Rising Oil Prices and Inflation

The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog Warns All Investors About Iran Nukes, Rising Oil Prices and Inflation

The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog is warning all investors to get ready for the consequences of a nuclear power Iran and what could be a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. The group warned about this possibility two years ago, however, the group is now suggesting, "with the rudderless Obama ship of state, we think it's no longer possible--the despots who run Iran will get a nuke--we think it's probable. Further, not if, but when it happens, brace yourself for really expensive oil, and inflation--two things the US cannot afford right now." Http://WallStreetFraudWatchdog. Com

Washington, DC (Vocus) April 9, 2010

Watching CNBC every morning, it's hard to believe that the US is in the worst economic decline since the Great Depression. It's hard to believe the actual US unemployment rate is stuck at 15%+, it's hard to believe that in less than a year a country like Iran---run by despots could have a nuke--and it's hard to believe we could be paying $5.00, or more at the US gas pump in less than a year--but the Wall Street Fraud Watchdog thinks that's exactly what is going to happen. The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog is saying, "we have a Nobel Peace Prize awarding winning US President who seems more confused than focused when it comes to rouge states like Iran--perhaps it's because he blew a year on a health care boondoggle, that the vast majority of US voters did not--do not--want." The group says, "whatever the case, if Iran gets a nuke, the US is in a super big mess, because it means our friends the Saudi's are at risk--and oil prices will go screaming through the roof. It also means forget about a US economic recovery--that hinges on a real estate recovery--with low interest rates." The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog is all about investor protection, in this case, making a case for the obvious. Http://WallStreetFraudWatchdog. Com

So who are the bad guys in Iran get a nuke disaster, aside from Iran? The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog says, "at the top of our list is Russia--they need higher oil prices to prevent a complete collapse of their economy. It's pretty simple--they sell nuclear technology knowing full well that Iran has big plans for the Middle East that do not include the Saudi Royal Family, other Middle Eastern Royal Families, or Israel--just higher oil prices." They suggest, "Wall Street really should be looking out a year--not six minutes, unfortunately, its six minutes--make the commission today--worry about tomorrow when it happens." Http://WallStreetFraudWatchdog. Com

But Israel can take care of the prospects of the current Iranian President with a nuke, right--it's their problem? The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog says, "actually if US gas prices go to $5.00 a gallon or more--with an Iranian nuke and a Middle East nuclear race, we think--all of a sudden it's a really big US economic problem, not Israel's. Forget about a US economic recovery--say so long to your 401-K--the party's over for us. Nancy Pelosi will not be sending you $600 this time; we won't--don't--have the money."

So what should smart investors do? The Wall Street Fraud Watchdog is saying, "buy gold, precious metals, or anything else that is inflation-proof. We were one of the first groups to warn of the US real estate train wreck, and we are telling you now--Iran gets a nuke with President Peace Prize, and the average big or little US investor is up the creek, SOL, however you want to put it--you're cooked." The group says, "Iran gets a nuke and it's a game changer for the entire world; especially for the gas-addicted US economy. Start thinking about a January 2011 after everyone starts getting their huge health insurance premium increases, combined with $5.00 gas. Change--is all we will have left." How to Win the Anti Aging Battle

How to Win the Anti Aging Battle

For people who are young at heart and who want to remain ageless, there’s a new website to help them look young, feel young and be young. www. agelessconfidential. com will help people to remain naturally ageless without using expensive supplements or undergoing uncomfortable surgery.

(PRWEB) September 18, 2006

Want to slow down or even reverse the aging process? And look younger, feel younger and be younger? The advances in healthcare have led to more people living longer. But everybody wants to look young and feel young! The good news is that it is possible to win the anti aging battle without spending a fortune on unnatural treatments. That’s the promise of www. agelessconfidential. com, a new, all-natural website specifically tailored towards people who want to remain ageless.

What is the anti aging battle all about? Many people believe that as each year passes, the body shows the effects of aging. Not only do our bodies age, but our minds age too and gradually, aging takes its toll on appearance and on our capabilities to effectively perform the many tasks involved in daily life.

But is this inevitable? I mean, as we grow older and live longer, is there simply nothing we can do to stop the deterioration in looks and declining mental function?

Supplements are one of the most widely used anti aging treatments to help people look and feel young. There is a myriad of supplements on the market today, each claiming to be the elusive “elixir of youth”. However, taking several anti aging supplements every day can be an expensive way to remain ageless. Most manufacturers recommend dosages of around 2-3 tablets every day. But following this dosage for each supplement on the market is an expensive pursuit and would achieve little more than a lighter bank balance and a rattling sound after all the pills have been consumed!

More importantly, there isn’t one anti aging supplement available that is proven to be effective in combating the aging process. Supplements appear to make an attractive, convenient and effortless anti aging solution. But the truth is that they appeal to people who search for a “magic bullet” and rarely will one be found that delivers on its promise of eternal youth.

Cosmetic surgery is another anti aging treatment employed by many people. And although the surgeon’s knife can cut away the effects of aging upon the body, it is a somewhat drastic, uncomfortable and extremely expensive solution to looking younger. Many people simply cannot afford to spend thousands of hard-earned dollars on cosmetic surgery. Another problem is that surgery only affects one aspect of aging – physical appearance. Looking young is only one part of the anti aging battle – and it isn’t the most important.

So if anti aging supplements and cosmetic surgery aren’t the best anti aging treatments, is there anything else that can be done?

There certainly is. Because the aging process isn’t inevitable. There is no single gene inside our bodies that controls how we age. This means that the aging process is accelerated by a number of habits and behaviors performed regularly so it’s really lifestyle that determines how rapidly people age. From this, it’s easy to see that a single “magic bullet” solution to aging isn’t really a viable prospect and instead, a number of simple but effective strategies applied to our daily living can and will help us look younger, feel younger and be younger.

Chris Green, editor of www. agelessconfidential. com - a new website that provides tools, resources and information for people who want to look young, feel young and be young - says people are becoming more aware of how their lifestyle is the most important factor in the battle against aging.

“We realized very quickly that looking young is only one part of the anti aging process. Many people look young but appear old. This is down to lifestyle, especially factors like stress and atrophy. Looks don’t make stress any easier to bear – or diminish the massive impact it has on aging. If people want to remain ageless, they have to look at their whole lifestyle.”

So how can people start winning the battle against premature aging?

Step One: Understand how the aging process works and how, in particular, certain habits and behaviors accelerate aging.

Step Two: Identify the factors present in daily lifestyle that cause premature aging. This will mean looking at many aspects of lifestyle: Work, relationships, social life, hobbies, fitness, diet.

Step Three: Start making small adjustments to daily life to eliminate as many of the aging factors as possible.

Step Four: Make simple changes, gradually, to lifestyle and incorporate as many anti aging strategies as possible each and every day.

Step Five: Maintain the new anti aging lifestyle and enjoy looking young, feeling young and being young!

“Our motto on the www. agelessconfidential. com website is Young In Mind, Young In Body and Young In Spirit. Because we believe successful aging isn’t just about looking young – it’s about BEING young and no supplement or surgery can provide that.”

Remaining ageless can be a lot of fun and it needn’t be complicated or expensive. A few companies, such as www. agelessconfidential. com are offering subscribers information and tools to help them live a young, happy life and there are free samples on the website to help people get started immediately on winning the anti aging battle.

Chris Green sums it up nicely: “We don’t have to get old before our time anymore. We can stay younger for longer – it’s our choice now.”

For more anti aging information, education, samples and resources about how to remain young in mind, young in body and young in spirit, visit http://www. agelessconfidential. com (http://www. agelessconfidential. com)

Renowned Addiction Treatment Center, Gatehouse Academy, Helps Residents Gain Coping Skills

Renowned Addiction Treatment Center, Gatehouse Academy, Helps Residents Gain Coping Skills

With leading reports claiming that job loss is causing a growing rate of drug addiction and alcoholism, Gatehouse Academy, Arizona's #1 drug rehab facility for young adults age 17-25, is able to help residents face a tenuous future.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) September 3, 2009

Gatehouse Academy, the premier source and solution for young adult addiction treatment and drug rehab, acknowledges that the global recession is causing strong side effects in terms of dealing with a depressed job market. Whether it is the difficulty of finding a job, or the impact of losing a job, studies reveal that people who are out of work may turn to drugs or alcohol as a way of handling an unknown future.

A recent study released by the Audit Commission in Britain says that addiction could be the "second wave" of the global recession, with consequences far more dire than losing jobs. The Commission has criticized the British government for its negligence in treating these side effects in its introduction of various solution schemes that seem only to create confusion. As the social and psychological consequences of unemployment are ignored, programs designed to assist in these matters often run out of money, leaving people to try to deal with these problems on their own. Without the proper tools to cope with economic adversity, young adults will often turn to drugs, alcohol, and crime.

As a long-term drug rehab center, Gatehouse Academy's commitment to helping young adults find viable and healthy coping skills has proven to be highly effective. Besides receiving treatment for their addictions, these young adults are given a formal education at the high school and college level while being guided to find a constructive life path. As residents gain confidence in themselves, their coping skills begin to strengthen and they become better at handling stressful situations. By breaking old habits, these young adults are thus taught how to discover constructive solutions.

Because Gatehouse Academy provides a safe and encouraging environment, residents are better able to recover from addiction while simultaneously becoming integrated into a productive lifestyle. With a strong directive to provide young adults with appropriate programs for developing their skills on all levels, Gatehouse Academy is having great success in helping residents enjoy their lives without addiction. As these young adults experience the positive psychological and social results of the program, they become better able to envision and implement a productive future for themselves and the people who love them, regardless of which direction the economic wind blows.

About Gatehouse Academy:
Gatehouse Academy is a co-educational long-term residential program exclusively for young adults age 17 to 25 with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. Their centers proved the necessary clinical, residential, educational, recreational, and family communication support system for everyone admitted. Their mission is: "We absolutely insist on guiding young adults towards a life of excellence, leadership and service." Gatehouse Academy operates its main campus in Wickenburg, Arizona. Other Arizona campuses include the Hassayampa River Ranch, Mesquite Canyon Ranch, Jefferson House and Gatehouse College Campus. It also has two extended campuses in Thunder Bay, Ontario and Saratoga Springs, New York. Study Finds Divorce is Bad for Health, Divorce Records Website Comments

Study Finds Divorce is Bad for Health, Divorce Records Website Comments

A study to be released this month finds that having a divorce record or being widowed may have lingering and detrimental impact on health, even after being remarried. DivorceRecords. net, a divorce records website that specializes in helping people find county divorce records in a stress free way, comments on the findings.

Chicago, Ill. (Vocus) September 2, 2009

A study scheduled to be released this month finds that having a divorce record or being widowed may have lingering and detrimental impact on health, even after remarriage. DivorceRecords. net, a divorce records (http://www. divorcerecords. net) website that offers a stress free way for people to search for county divorce records, comments on the findings.

The study, to be published in the September issue of the Journal of Health and Social Behavior, analyzed data from approximately 9,000 adults nationwide ranging in ages between 51 and 61. The study found that those with a divorce record or had been widowed suffered 20% more chronic health conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer, than individuals who were currently married.

Experts find that a divorce record or a traumatic disruption in the family can lead to depression, anxiety and other psychological illnesses. Not even getting remarried is enough to reverse the physical and mental disruption. Researchers have reported for years that marriage has health benefits, but there has not been clear evidence on whether there is a different health impact on whether a spouse is lost through divorce or death.

Experts do not recommend ruling out divorce in a bad or abusive marriage solely for health reasons because health benefits of a divorce are better than that of staying in a bad situation. However, it is recommended to consult a physical and mental health professional while considering or going through a divorce.

DivorceRecords. net recommends seeking professional help to rebuild a marriage before considering divorce. If the most reasonable option is divorce, this website provides stress free access to county divorce records to ease the process.

About DivorceRecords. net:
DivorceRecords. net is an online database of divorce records for United States residents. The information is public and consistently updated. Dominic & Irvine Completes Research on Wound Care Products

Dominic & Irvine Completes Research on Wound Care Products

Dominic & Irvine Research announced the completion of a two month research project focusing on the current and future market of wound care products including elastic nettings, hydrogels, cleansers and dressings.

(PRWEB) August 30, 2004

The objectives of the research included: calculating the market potential for elastic netting, hydrogels, cleansers and dressings, prioritizing the methods of increasing market share, identifying buying motivations for hospitals, and determining the market share geographically by individual manufacturers. The study was conducted in U. S. hospitals. D&I Research exceeded its goal with an 89% completion rate of the targeted universe of hospitals.

“D&I Research is extremely proud of the results from this study,” said Michael S. Murphy, president of Dominic & Irvine Research. “Not only did we exceed our standard goal of an 80% completion ratio, but we enhanced our processes of ‘voice of customer’ research. To assure research effectiveness our technologists went through extensive training to familiarize themselves with materials management and burn units and to expand their knowledge of emergency and surgical medicine to include wound care.”

In order to achieve the most accurate information, D&I research used a traditional top-down approach communicating first with the hospital materials manager to identify the types, quantities and volumes of use. The research team then identified the high volume departments, and interviewed the directors of those departments to determine satisfaction and desired improvements for the products.

Barbara Liner, Research Technology Manager and lead technician for this wound care study, said, “The greatest challenge we encountered on this product was identifying the most accurate contact to give us the objective information regarding motivations for use and purchase criteria. The materials managers were a wealth of information in terms of what was being used for wound care. However, identifying the reasons for why those products were being used related to product features and distributors proved to be most critical.”

In studying the market share, D&I Research was able to successfully identify the share of the elastic netting, hydrogel and cleanser/dressings shares for all competitors, the volume of use per size, and the comparative quality ratings for individual manufacturers.

Additionally, D&I Research identified and prioritized the buying motivations and desired improvements by using its unique “voice of the customer” research allowing for open ended input directly from the end users.

Murphy said, “We were able to conduct an in depth SWOT analysis for this manufacturer. In the end, we identified manufacturer/product strengths including quality ratings and product variety that exceeded all competitors. We identified a tremendous opportunity for growth based on the clinical needs and desires of end users. After analyzing all of these areas, D&I Research was able to create a clear and informed strategic plan for improved market share and clinical advancements needed in the wound care market both now and in the future.”

Based in Franklin, TN, D&I conducts independent market research studies and studies for medical suppliers, purchasing organizations, equipment manufacturers. Studies are completed through interactive guided phone interviews with highly trained research professionals. The interview format allows for the most accurate data with the highest level of integrity. D&I ensures accuracy by setting the new standard of an 80% completion rate of all applicable facilities.

Since its inception, D&I has completed more than 45 national studies in various areas of the healthcare industry and presented its findings at both national and international conventions and trade shows as well as sharing results with interview participants.

The Surrogacy Lawyer Radio Program Interviews Dr. Craig Sweet of Specialists in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery About Embryo Donation

The Surrogacy Lawyer Radio Program Interviews Dr. Craig Sweet of Specialists in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery About Embryo Donation

“With the over 500,000 frozen embryos estimated to be in storage in the U. S. alone, embryo donation still remains a comparatively new possibility that is just gaining ground in the infertility field, “ says Surrogacy Lawyer Erickson. “We are excited to learn how Dr. Sweet has developed his successful program and what he foresees for the future of embryo donation.”

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 14, 2010

The medical techniques used to achieve an embryo donation cycle are not new to reproductive medicine. But only in the last few years have both infertility professionals and patients started to pay more attention to this type of family building, which involves past fertility patients donating their frozen embryos to would-be parent recipients.

The Surrogacy Lawyer, author and radio host Theresa Erickson will be exploring the issues involving embryo donation during her interview with Dr. Craig Sweet on Thursday, September 16 at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST on The Surrogacy Lawyer: Your Guide to IVF and Third Party Family Building, her radio program on Voice America. Dr. Sweet is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and medical director of Specialists in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (SRMS) of Fort Myers, Florida, which he opened in 1991.

Dr. Sweet graduated with honors from medical school at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU). He went on to complete his internship and residency in obstetrics & gynecology at SIU. Dr. Sweet received his sub-specialty training in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and genetics at the Medical College of Georgia. He has established an innovative embryo donation program, Embryo Donation International, which has many unique features, including an embryo donor database.

Attorney Erickson and Dr. Sweet will discuss the differences between embryo donation and embryo adoption, the advantages and disadvantages of this treatment alternative and the medical, mental health and legal issues facing both potential recipients and donors.

“With the over 500,000 frozen embryos estimated to be in storage in the U. S. alone, embryo donation still remains a comparatively new possibility that is just gaining ground in the infertility field, “ says attorney Erickson. “We are excited to learn how Dr. Sweet has developed his successful program and what he foresees for the future of embryo donation.”

Northampton, Massachusetts Passes Zoning to Safeguard Homes from Large Adult Businesses

Northampton, Massachusetts Passes Zoning to Safeguard Homes from Large Adult Businesses

Northampton, Massachusetts, the home of Smith College, passed new zoning legislation on November 2 to protect neighborhoods from the "secondary effects" of adult businesses. Large adult enterprises and establishments with porn viewing booths are restricted to Northampton's Highway Business District and must be at least 500 feet away from homes, schools, houses of worship, and certain other places where children are likely to be found.

Northampton, MA (PRWEB) November 6, 2006

The city council of Northampton, Massachusetts, passed new zoning legislation on November 2 to protect neighborhoods from the "secondary effects" of adult businesses. Large adult enterprises and establishments with porn viewing booths are restricted to Northampton's Highway Business District and must be at least 500 feet away from homes, schools, houses of worship, and certain other places where children are likely to be found. Northampton (population 29,000) is the home of Smith College, the nation's largest liberal arts college for women. Author John Villani calls Northampton the "#1 Small Arts Town in America".

Leading the charge for adult-use zoning has been NoPornNorthampton, a group of local citizens. "We support people's right to free expression, and we also believe that porn shops should not be located next to homes, schools and churches," says Jendi Reiter, legal counsel to NoPornNorthampton. "Case after case across the country state that these two goals are compatible, and that cities have the right to regulate the time, place and manner of viewing adult entertainment."

NoPornNorthampton was organized on June 30, two days after it became publicly known that Capital Video Corporation of Cranston, RI intended to open a 6,000+ square-foot adult enterprise at 135 King Street in Northampton. This location, a short walk from the center of town, is surrounded by homes, churches, mental health counseling centers and a school of dance. NoPornNorthampton believes this site is not appropriate for a large sexually oriented business, due to the well-documented risk of "secondary effects" of these businesses on their surroundings. These risks include crime, economic blight, business failures, declining property values, reduced pedestrian traffic, hazardous litter (e. g. used condoms) and harassment of passersby.

Between July 10 and November 2, NoPornNorthampton collected 1,551 signatures on petitions urging city officials to implement adult-use zoning and viewing booth health regulations. These signatures included 1,016 from residents of the city, and 535 from residents of the larger region and tourists.

NoPornNorthampton also conducted a broad public education campaign to raise awareness about porn, the porn industry, and the impact of adult businesses on communities. Its weblog at NoPornNorthampton. org currently exceeds 90,000 words of content, and routinely serves over 500 article views per day. On September 27, NoPornNorthampton mailed an open letter to virtually all the registered voters of Northampton, MA and Longmeadow, MA--over 29,000 people. This letter implored the property owners of 135 King Street, Barry G. and Annette E. Goldberg of Longmeadow, to find a more suitable tenant for their property than a porn merchant. The letter described the secondary effects of adult businesses and criticized the violent, misogynistic nature of the movies sold by Capital Video and its affiliates.

On November 2, the Northampton city council approved three adult-use ordinances by a two-thirds majority. These ordinances stress the city's desire to preserve and enhance its pedestrian-friendly character. "Because the large-scale adult establishments greater than 1,000 square feet have the tendency to create blank, inactive voids in the street fabric due to their size and façade treatments it is important to ensure that such businesses are not located within 500' of such walkable neighborhoods that include churches, residences or schools."

At public hearings leading up to the November 2 city council vote, some speakers expressed concern that adult-use zoning would lead to increasing government censorship. NoPornNorthampton showed these fears are unfounded. In particular, the group spoke with several librarians in Western Massachusetts who reported no uptick in censorship pressures (public or private) following the enactment of adult-use zoning in their locales.

Capital Video is now not permitted to open a large adult enterprise at 135 King Street. It is not clear how they will react to the new legislation. NoPornNorthampton will continue to report on the situation on its weblog, NoPornNorthampton. org.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Customization Tools Alba Spectrum

Microsoft Dynamics GP Customization Tools Alba Spectrum

In our opinion Microsoft reserves the rights to alter the next steps of Microsoft Dynamics realization and the shapes of the next wave of the merging ERP (Axapta, Great Plains, CRM, Navision, Solomon). This is why the developer has to analyze the development tools, if she/he wants to provide the longest possible longevity to the custom logic

Naperville, IL (PRWEB) May 13, 2006

Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains was renamed into Microsoft Dynamics GP and became part of Microsoft Dynamics strategy in September 2005. Former name of the strategy was Microsoft Project Green, where the idea was to introduce so-called Microsoft Business Suites: Financials, Distribution, Human Resource, Manufacturing, etc. In our opinion Microsoft reserves the rights to alter the next steps of Microsoft Dynamics realization and the shapes of the next wave of the merging ERP (Axapta, Great Plains, CRM, Navision, Solomon). This is why the developer has to analyze the development tools, if she/he wants to provide the longest possible longevity to the custom logic. Let’s look at the dilemmas:

“Fat” versus “Thin” client. Here we reveal “Fat” client technology – it is Microsoft Dexterity with DYNAMICS. DIC – dictionary (all objects for core functionality: table, procedure, function, form, window, string, etc are defined here). Thin client is Business Portal approach (we are not talking about Citrix way here, because in Citrix you usually open the same Fat Dexterity client) or web client. The dilemma of web client is – Dexterity is not web-enabled technology and such questions as GP security realm, accessing business logic (coded in Great Plains Dexterity) is complicated if not possible at all. Plus – if you look at licensing structure – user licenses are actually simultaneous “fat” clients connections, controlled by Dexterity technical logic. Imagine – you need to extend SOP Entry screen logic – you can only realize it accessing Fat client and adding custom logic there through dexterity, Extender (or in Visual Studio, programming relevant GP Object – but again it will go to Fat client extension and Dexterity has more control over its own realm). When Microsoft Dynamics GP will offload Fat Client logic to Business Portal, then you will be using more thin client or web development to do the job, it is not actual today and probably Dexterity has another several years to stay on the first position.  Probability of the Paradigm Change. Could you expect in 1995 that something like. Net, or XML Web Services will show up on the scene and make Graphical Platform and database independence (Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, Ingress) actuality obsolete? This was only a decade ago. Now – the paradoxical question – would you think that such paradigms as Java/J2EE/EJB and. Net plus XML Web Services will stay for another decade? We don’t know. At the same time, such old-timers, as Microsoft Dexterity or former name Great Plains Software Dexterity stay robust and alive since the beginning of 1990th. Please look at Microsoft tools, such as VBA (Visual Basics for Applications) – it was scripting language, designed in 1990th and now it is pretty much phased out. In other words, we don’t know and can’t predict the longevity of current paradigms and axioms in IT and Programming industry. Maybe the answer is this – Dexterity was designed to stay through technological cataclysms, while new tools were designed to serve current needs and commercialize current technology trends.  Reporting. Let’s look at ReportWriter, which is Dexterity-based tool and Crystal Reports. Report Writer has huge number of customization across the Great Plains clients community: SOP Invoice Long form, Purchase Order with company graphical logo, AP Check form to name a few. Crystal Reports were the tool of choice when ReporWriter can’t do the job, to remind the story – Crystal was Industry Standard tool, capable to deliver stunning graphical quality and excellent database independence and heterogeneous linking. Nowadays Crystal is deemphasized for Microsoft Dynamics Project – Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services are in the preferred position.  Balance. Again – what will be the future? It is not clear and what kind of agenda (even if it is not consciously placed behind by the tool architect) is behind it – you as developer should think through the time and minimize the risk for your custom logic upgradeability and the dependence of “modern” technology trends, which have high chance to be abolished in the short future.

Frustrated Parents Can Save Their Sanity with Tips from Allergy Cookbook Author

Frustrated Parents Can Save Their Sanity with Tips from Allergy Cookbook Author

Frustrated and weary parents can save their sanity with a new video and an accompanying tip sheet from motivational speaker and allergy cookbook author, Lisa A. Lundy, which you can download free from her website.

Buffalo, New York (Vocus) August 1, 2009

Little Johnny has a hard time paying attention, forgets things, talks too much, fidgets all the time, has trouble taking turns, acts and speaks without thinking, is easily distracted and does not seem to listen. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 4.4 million school-aged children suffer from these kinds of behaviors or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (http://www. cdc. gov/ncbddd/adhd/facts. html) (ADHD). ADHD is the most common neurobehavioral disorders of childhood states the CDC website. The Minnesota Department of Health (http://www. health. state. mn. us/divs/cfh/na/factsheets/mcshn/childdev. html), Children with Special Health Needs Fact Sheet, states "Parents of children with risk factors linked to developmental problems report greater frustration with their children's behavior than parents of children without such risk factors." Frustrated parents can find help in a new video and free tip sheet from allergy cookbook author, Lisa A. Lundy, which you can download free from her website at http://www. TheSuperAllergyCookbook. com (http://www. TheSuperAllergyCookbook. com).

Lundy's book, The Super Allergy Girl™ Allergy & Celiac Cookbook - From A Mother Who Knows™, is a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, peanut free, tree nut free and other allergen free cookbook that is often used by parents who are trying the gluten-free and dairy-free diet for ADHD, ADD, autism spectrum disorders, behavior issues, emotional meltdowns, and learning issues with their children. Prior to publishing the cookbook, Lundy spent many hours at the local medical library researching food allergies and health. Some of this research Lundy has released in the form of white papers to help the average consumer understand safe, non-invasive ways to be healthy, which are available on her website.

Her personal connection to ADHD began when she noticed that her oldest son lost his ability to mentally focus, copy letters, and had become very clumsy after eating meals with gluten and dairy when he was nearly 5 years old. Lundy experimented with his diet and found that she could literally change his ability to think, process information, his attention and his physical agility. Having never heard of dietary intervention or dietary therapy, Lundy thought that this was a revelation until she discovered at the medical library that Hippocrates had written that food had the potential to injure some people. "There is more science on how dietary changes can improve health and resolve health issues than any parent would care to read or even know about," Lundy said. "The Feingold® Association of the United States has many studies on their website, http://www. Feingold. org (http://www. Feingold. org), however there are many more studies if you include the ones on gluten and casein."

Lundy's second child has celiac disease, an autoimmune disease that necessitates a gluten-free diet. Her daughter, Anne, has IgE mediated or life-threatening food allergies to milk, eggs, peanuts and some tree nuts. In addition to food allergies, Anne has serious health issues resulting from the inability of her body to absorb vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids, all of which are critical to health. Lundy and her husband, Randy Garrett, have gone to great lengths to understand Anne's underlying medical problems, efforts which have proven fruitful. Three years ago, Anne was a modern-day bubble child unable to go many places. Today she has improved dramatically and is on her way to a complete recovery.

The Super Allergy Girl™ Allergy & Celiac Cookbook contains over 100 pages of essential information and more than 225 recipes. It is available at http://www. TheSuperAllergyCookbook. com (http://www. TheSuperAllergyCookbook. com).

New DNA Test Helps Diagnose Early Lyme Disease Case: Milford Hospital Pathologist Alerts Southern Connecticut Physicians

Lyme disease has struck early, and in Connecticut where it was initially discovered. It was also diagnosed by a new DNA test performed at Milford Hospital, The groundbreaking test used to positively ID the Lyme bacteria was developed by the scientist/physician/pathologist and his team.

Mildford, CT (PRWEB) April 27, 2010

As predicted by public health officials, Lyme disease has struck early, and in Connecticut where it was initially discovered. “In what may be the first case of newly acquired Lyme disease, it was apparently contracted in early March in Wallingford, CT, and not diagnosed until a month later by a new DNA test performed at Milford Hospital,” pathologist, Sin Hang Lee, MD wrote in a note distributed to southern Connecticut physicians.

The groundbreaking test used to positively ID the Lyme bacteria was developed by the scientist/physician/pathologist and his team. It is used to quickly determine if a patient tests positive for Lyme spirochetes in their blood. This is the first such early Lyme test available, and most insurance companies have already agreed to cover the cost, he said.

Dr. Lee said lab-confirmed Lyme disease is usually diagnosed by antibody tests after May, which customarily marks the month for Lyme disease alert in Connecticut. “Since there was no skin rash in this 31-year old male patient, and his initial symptoms started in mid March without the history of a tick bite, the clinical presentations of Lyme disease were not immediately recognized by health care practitioners until mid April when a physician suspected infection by the Lyme bacteria, and ordered the appropriate laboratory tests.
The normally-ordered antibody screen test for Lyme disease was negative. The only positive result for this patient was that of a blood Lyme disease DNA test newly developed at Milford Hospital based on the research protocol initially used at the National Institutes of Health,” he said.

Dr. Lee emphasized a timely diagnosis of early Lyme disease with bacterial invasion for swift effective treatments requires public education for residents and their physicians living in areas where the disease is endemic. He said the most reliable laboratory test to detect and confirm early Lyme disease with spirochetemia is by DNA sequencing. Information on the Lyme disease DNA test can be found via the “Lyme Test” button at http://www. MilfordHospital. org (http://www. ESRI Press Publishes Map Use, the Quintessential Book on How to Read and Analyze Maps

ESRI Press Publishes Map Use, the Quintessential Book on How to Read and Analyze Maps

The Ultimate Resource for Using and Understanding Topographic, Thematic, Planimetric, and Other Maps

Redlands, CA (PRWEB) February 13, 2009

To unlock the wealth of information in a map, a person must know how to read one. That's why Map Use: Reading and Analysis, Sixth Edition, will be a valuable book for people who work with, study, and appreciate maps and want to improve their map reading and analysis skills.

Replete with nearly 500 maps, photographs, tables, and charts to illustrate the text, this informative volume from ESRI Press teaches the basic concepts of geography and the skills of map reading and analysis. The book includes an overview of different types of maps, map scale and projections, grid coordinate systems, relief portrayal, qualitative and quantitative thematic maps, area and volume measures, GPS and maps, and spatial pattern analysis.

Map Use is ideal for people who need to understand the world spatially including anyone who must know how to read and analyze maps for professional, navigational, and recreational purposes such as sailing, mountaineering, and flying. Map Use also serves as a resource for introductory cartography courses and is an invaluable reference for the home, office, and library.

"Map Use was written for people who want to use maps to better understand not only the physical environment but the human, social, political, and economic environments as well," says A. Jon Kimerling, the book's co-author and interim chairman of the Department of Geosciences at Oregon State University in Corvallis. "This sixth edition takes readers beyond the graphic symbols that comprise maps and into cartographers' decision-making processes to give them the insights they need to better use maps."

ESRI Press acquired the rights for this latest book from longtime Map Use publisher JP Publications, owned by Phillip C. Muehrcke, professor emeritus of geography at the University of Wisconsin, and Juliana O. Muehrcke, the founding editor of Nonprofit World. The Muehrckes wrote the first edition of Map Use, Reading, Analysis, and Interpretation in 1978, which was followed up with four subsequent editions, the last two co-authored with Kimerling. Aileen R. Buckley, a cartographic researcher at ESRI, joined the three other authors on this new project.

"The underlying theme that separates Map Use from other books on mapping is its emphasis on the fact that maps do not merely show what is in our environment but are windows into how people think, adjust to their surroundings, make decisions, and communicate geographic information with each other," says Kimerling. "In this sense, users get more out of a map than the graphic product created by the cartographer, especially when they have mastered the map reading and analysis skills so carefully presented in the book."

Map Use: Reading and Analysis, Sixth Edition (ISBN: 9781589481909, 528 pages, $99.95), is available at online retailers worldwide, at www. esri. com/esripress (http://www. esri. com/esripress), or by calling 1-800-447-9778. Barnes & Noble. com Announces "Hottest Books of the Season"

Barnes & Noble. com Announces "Hottest Books of the Season"

Number one ranked bookseller releases its list of the 'Hottest Books of the Season.' The list of consumer favorites and top sellers includes books by former president Bill Clinton, entertainer Rikki Lee Travolta, thriller writer Dan Brown, and television's Dr. Phil.

(PRWEB) July 18, 2004

Barnes & Noble. com, the world's largest bookseller, has announced the memoir "My Life" by former president Bill Clinton, novel "My Fractured Life" by Rikki Lee Travolta, mystery "R is for Ricochet" by Sue Grafton, and horror story "The Lake House" by James Patterson among its "Hottest Books of the Season."

"My Life" is the self-penned, candid account of Clinton's life from his tumultuous childhood through his years in the Whitehouse.

"(Clinton's) life is too fascinating, his mind too brilliant, his desire to charm too strong to permit him to produce a boring book. The combination of analytic and emotional intelligence that made him a great politician now makes him a compelling raconteur," states Washington Post critic Walter Isaacson.

Named a Top Ten recommendation by Amazon. com, Travolta's "My Fractured Life" has drawn comparisons to "Catcher in the Rye" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for its stormy antihero and self-deprecating dark humor.

Set against the backdrop of Hollywood's underbelly, "My Fractured Life" is the story of faded stars struggling to adjust to life outside of the spotlight as they discover there is little calling for former celebrities in the real world job market.

"Rikki Lee Travolta is a very versatile writer, moving easily from fiction and drama into pop culture," states Kirk Landers of James Informational Media.

The 18th offering in the Kinsey Millhone detective series (following 2002's "P is for Peril"), Grafton's "R is for Ricochet" has the sexy female private investigator babysitting a newly paroled daughter of privilege with visions of revenge on her former employer.

"Grafton's series remains fresh and exciting, with complex plots and well-developed characters," states Wilda Williams of the Library Journal.

A follow-up to the 1998 novel "When the Wind Blows" about children genetically engineered to fly, Patterson's "The Lake House" is a mixture of the science fiction and suspense genres in which the human-bird hybrid children are caught in a legal battle as their rescuers turned surrogate parents try to gain custody.

"The pages move like the wind," states Publisher's Weekly in its praise of the fast moving novel.

Titles on Barnes & Noble's hot list will be available to online customers at 30 to 40% savings and will be designated to online shoppers with a special Summer Sale savings icon.

"Serving customers is our highest priority," said Marie Toulantis, chief executive officer, in a statement.

The 2004 EquiTrend Brand Study by Harris Interactive placed Barnes & Nobel. com as the highest overall rating of all e-commerce companies for quality. Barnes & Noble was also the number one ranked company in the 2002 and 2003 EquiTrend studies. More than 24,000 consumers were interviewed in the annual survey.

Additional titles on Barnes & Noble's 'hot list' include the romance "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks, the thriller "The Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown, the children's story "I Already Know I Love You" by Billy Crystal, the mystery "Skinny Dip" by Carl Haasen, and the diet and health title "The Ultimate Weight Solution Cookbook" by Dr. Phil McGraw

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS) is the worldÂ’s largest bookseller, operating 653 Barnes & Noble bookstores in 49 states. It also operates 188 B. Dalton Bookseller stores, primarily in regional shopping malls.

Don’t Let Gum Disease Spoil That Mistletoe Kiss

Don’t Let Gum Disease Spoil That Mistletoe Kiss

Hoping for that special kiss under the mistletoe this year? Beware the hidden effects of gum disease and ensure your mouth is as fresh and inviting as possible. Partygoers often think a quick gargle of mouthwash is enough to dispel bad breath but it may not be enough. There may be a more serious underlying cause, such as gum disease.

(PRWEB) December 9, 2010

Hoping for that special kiss under the mistletoe this year? Beware the hidden effects of gum disease and ensure your mouth is as fresh and inviting as possible.

“Partygoers often think a quick gargle of mouthwash is enough to dispel bad breath but it may not be enough. There may be a more serious underlying cause, such as gum disease,” warn oral care experts from Eludril and Elgydium.

With Christmas almost upon us, our thoughts turn to looking our very best for the festive party season and the possibility of a romantic rendezvous with someone special under the mistletoe.

The custom of kissing underneath a branch of mistletoe goes back hundreds of years, certainly to the early 17th Century.

A man was allowed to steal a kiss under a hanging branch of mistletoe but when he did, one berry was plucked from the plant and discarded.

Once the berries were all gone, the kissing charm of the mistletoe branch was spent and the kissing stopped. However, this aspect of the custom is rarely applied these days!

So, if you intend to surprise that special someone under the mistletoe, you need to ensure that your oral hygiene is up to scratch.

“Bacteria are the main cause of bad breath. Leftover food can become trapped in difficult to reach areas of the mouth – this acts as a breeding ground for the bacteria that can cause bad breath,” warns the Eludril and Elgydium team.

“This can be remedied by brushing your teeth after every meal to remove food particles from your mouth. You should also floss once a day and also brush your tongue as this is covered with thousands of tiny hairs that can trap bacteria.”

The second most common cause of bad breath is gum disease – also known as gingivitis.

“Gum disease affects the majority of all adults in the UK and it is the primary cause of tooth loss after the age of 35.”

Gum disease is usually caused by the long-term effects of dental plaque deposits which cause the gums to become inflamed.

“When identified immediately, treatment of gum disease is simple. Treatment and prevention are based on a good oral care routine including brushing, flossing and rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash.

“If left untreated, gum disease can lead to chronically inflamed gums, receding gums, tooth decay and bad breath.”

The advice from the manufacturers of Eludril antibacterial mouthwash and Elgydium toothpaste is as follows:
brush at least twice a day for around two minutes  floss every day to reach areas that a toothbrush might miss  replace your toothbrush regularly (every three to four months, as soon as the bristles look worn)  avoid starchy, sugary foods and drinks, as these make the problem worse  eat plenty of fresh foods and vegetables and avoiding snacking between meals.

“Should you spot the early signs of gum disease, visit your dentist as soon as possible, as the condition is easily and effectively treated if caught early – it need not result in any long-term health issues,” advise the Eludril and Elgydium experts.

These are the gum disease symptoms you should be aware of:
Sore gums or swollen gums  bleeding gums  receding gums.

Receding gums will expose the root of your tooth, often resulting in sensitivity and pain.

As this condition worsens, a receding gum line will de-stabilise your teeth and they will gradually loosen, move and ultimately either fall out or have to be extracted.

Quick, easy and effective treatments are available for those who have detected the early signs of gum disease.

Experts from Eludril and Elgydium recommend that you check with your dentist for advice on which gingivitis treatment is right for you.

“The gold standard treatment for gum disease for many years has been chlorhexidine which has been proven effective against the key organisms that cause gum disease and works by inhibiting the build-up of dental plaque.”

Eludril mouthwash – which contains chlorhexidine – is an antibacterial and analgesic solution used to prevent and treat gum disease.

Choosing the right toothpaste is just as important. The Elgydium toothpaste range includes a regular Anti-Plaque paste containing chlorhexidine to help prevent dental plaque and tartar build-up.

There are also Whitening, Sensitive and Decay Protection toothpastes – but unlike many Whitening toothpastes, the whitening agent in Elgydium Whitening (Sodium Bicarbonate) is micropulverised to reduce harmful abrasion of the teeth.

Elgydium Sensitive contains a unique new-generation Fluoride called Fluorinol clinically proven to reinforce teeth against decay by binding to the enamel five times more effectively than ordinary fluoride.

Elgydium Decay Protection also contains Fluorinol, as well as a special agent called Siliglycol that keeps more fluoride on teeth – even after rinsing – to give day-long protection against decay.

Eludril Mouthwash is an antibacterial and analgesic solution which can be used to manage a number of oral health problems.
Its main use is to treat and prevent dental plaque formation and gum disease (gingivitis) also known as periodontitis by preventing the build-up of bacteria.
Eludril Mouthwash can also be used to maintain oral hygiene in situations where toothbrushing is difficult, for instance, following oral surgery or in physically or mentally handicapped patients.
Eludril can also be used as a disinfectant for the cleansing of removable dentures and in the management of common mouth ulcers and oral candidiasis infections (fungus infections).
Elgydium Anti-Plaque toothpaste is specially formulated for sensitive gums and helps to prevent dental plaque and tartar build-up, the major causes of tooth decay and gum disease (gingivitis).
Elgydium Whitening, Sensitive and Decay Protection are also available as part of the Elgydium range of toothpastes.
