The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet Makes Weight Loss Easy

The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet Makes Weight Loss Easy

Conventional Diets are tried repeatedly by most Americans. The problem: Conventional Diets Don’t Work. Two-thirds are now overweight or obese. The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet™, developed by a masters-degree registered clinical dietitian, is based on the latest clinical research. It’s as easy as it is delicious. Even dieters who need to lose a lot of weight can - and do - succeed. Protein-enhanced chocolate milk decreases hunger, and increases protein intake -- which research and results show delivers sustainable weight loss. The causes of diet failure—hunger, high cost, complexity, and bad taste have all been eliminated, and replaced by the comfortable, familiar taste of enhanced chocolate milk.

Reston, VA (PRWEB) January 6, 2011

Over recent decades, there have been a wide variety of diets purporting to help Americans lose weight. If conventional diets worked, why are so many Americans overweight or obese? One reason is that there hasn’t been a corresponding level of variety in the principles on which most diets are based. Most use the same old notion: limiting calories – a good concept, but exceedingly difficult in principle.

A hundred million Americans have tried calorie-limiting diets. That is literally a billion tries! The result has been enormous frustration and, worse, two-thirds of adults in the U. S. are now overweight or obese, according to the National Institutes of Health, and the proportion is rising.

The problem with limiting calories is that it leads to hunger, and when people are hungry, they eat – more than the diet allows. So typically, the diet works for a brief time, and then fails. According to ICMD’s founder and developer, Martha Krachenfels, MS RD, there are multiple reasons--hunger, high cost, complexity, and bad taste--with hunger the number one cause of failure. Even worse, some diet programs cost as much as $200 per month and more, and require following complex schemes such as tracking “points”. “A calorie counter or point counter is little help when it's 11AM or 3PM and you're starving.”

In contrast, The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet™ (“ICMD”) starts by making sure you feel full and satisfied. So there is no hunger to undermine the diet. You feel full – satisfied – on ICMD because it is quite different from ordinary chocolate milk. ICMD has almost 4 times the high quality protein as ordinary chocolate milk, and half the sugars, half the carbohydrates. Even better, The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet™ has the same great taste of chocolate milk that we have all loved since we were kids. “If you like the taste of chocolate milk (or vanilla milk), you can success with this diet.”

The name of the diet says almost everything – easy; a delicious familiar taste that almost everyone likes; drink several times per day. The key difference from ordinary chocolate milk is much more protein, much lower carbs and sugars. One small 8 ounce serving of ICMD contains 28 grams of high quality protein. Milk has 7.3. So you get almost 4 times the protein, and about half the carbs, half the sugars.

The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet gives Americans a proven-effective tool to use in their struggle to lose weight. Developed by a clinical dietitian, it is based on a growing body of clinical research. "ICMD is a solution for everyone who has tried to lose weight and failed, even if they need to lose a lot of weight.”

There has been significant clinical research indicating that diets higher in protein create greater satisfaction, less hunger, and weight loss success. What makes The Ideal Chocolate Milk Dietdifferent is its quality and taste. The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet uses only Whey Protein Isolate -- and receives the highest score (100) on the protein quality scoring system recommended by the Institute of Medicine at the National Academy of Sciences.

Real Digital Media Integrates NEOCAST® Digital Signage Platform with the rVueTM Demand-Side Platform

Real Digital Media Integrates NEOCAST® Digital Signage Platform with the rVueTM Demand-Side Platform

Integration provides media buyers using rVue with access to the most current location and playout data from networks powered by NEOCAST®

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) July 13, 2010

Real Digital Media (RDM), provider of the innovative NEOCAST® Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for managing digital signage networks, and rVue Holdings, Inc.’s (RVUE:OTCBB) subsidiary, rVue, the first demand-side platform for Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) media planning and buying, today announced the open integration between the two platforms. Current and future network operators using NEOCAST® are now able to benefit from the automated delivery of location-specific details about their networks required by ad agencies and advertisers seeking to make informed media buys through rVue. At the same time, rVue can now provide campaign playout and compliance data to agencies through its direct feed from NEOCAST®.

The open and free-to-use rVue Media Planner streamlines the creation of DOOH media plans by promoting awareness of the various participating networks, providing relevant information about available networks, establishing communication between the networks and agencies, and reducing media planning time through a real-time search and selection of available touchpoints/screens, impressions and cost. The rVue demand-side platform consolidates all of this information into a single buy that is comprehensive yet easy to execute.

Ken Goldberg, CEO of Real Digital Media, states, “This integration is important to Real Digital Media and our customers because it removes a barrier between buyers and sellers, which is an essential element to not only our mutual growth but for the digital signage industry as a whole. In order for the DOOH industry to establish credibility within advertising circles, we need to adopt practices that make it easy to buy, encourage standards that establish a uniform experience, and create an ecosystem that benefits all participants. rVue’s selection of NEOCAST® represents an initial effort to bring these principles to our clients and the ad agencies making DOOH part of their advertising mix.”

How it Works

Enrollment into rVue is free and available to any agency, advertiser or network provider by simply logging in, creating an rVue account and building their agency/advertiser or network profile. Each network profile features such relevant information as audience demographics, location geographics, target venues and overall impressions to help advertisers evaluate and target their locations for media plans. With the announced integration, rVue network profiles powered by NEOCAST® can now be provided with the majority of this location-specific and compliance data automatically. This allows network operators to leverage the data already acquired throughout the course of their NEOCAST® rollout and operations in a seamless manner. This saves time, effort and ensures consistency of their data across platforms, which is essential for ad agencies requiring confidence in the accuracy of the media plans designed and executed for their clients.

“The ongoing mission of the rVue demand-side platform is to contribute to the growth of the digital out-of-home environment by providing resources that remove barriers to entry, and streamline the management, planning and purchasing of DOOH media,” said Jason Kates, Chief Executive Officer of rVue, Inc. “This integration was developed to provide the accountability, data and transparency ad-based networks need to further attract advertisers, while shortening or eliminating their data management time. On the other side, this connection enables advertisers to receive the data and analytics they need for greater adoption of the media. RDM is a valued ally and we’re proud to work with their team on this initiative.”

Currently, rVue has enrolled networks in major DMAs across the United States and Canada with European expansion underway.

Bay Area Boot Camp Introduces PowerVie Boot Camp

After spearheading the boot camp workout revolution in the Bay Area in 2004, AlaVie Fitness (formerly Bay Area Boot Camp) today announced the launch of its signature program under the PowerVie Boot Camp name. A total body conditioning series that includes cutting edge fitness instruction, nutritional education, and team motivation, PowerVie Boot Camp is at the core of AlaVie's range of premier wellness services.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 6, 2008

After spearheading the boot camp workout revolution in the Bay Area in 2004, AlaVie Fitness (formerly Bay Area Boot Camp) today announced the launch of its signature program under the PowerVie Boot Camp name.

A total body conditioning series that includes cutting edge fitness instruction, nutritional education, and team motivation, PowerVie Boot Camp is at the core of AlaVie's range of premier wellness services.

"PowerVie is different from other boot camps that take a military style approach," AlaVie co-founder Heather Glenn said, "We pride ourselves on our team-oriented conditioning style, and our coaches are dedicated to creating a supportive environment that challenges people to go beyond their expectations for themselves."

"Boot camp works for me," said Camille Darlington, who has been attending the Walnut Creek camp for over a year, "I'm a real estate appraiser, so my job is very lonely. Exercising with a group of women with the same motivations is a big plus. And I love being outside, being cold in the morning, and getting a sweat going. There's always a new challenge, and it's never routine."

According to Glenn, AlaVie is constantly researching current fitness trends to keep the PowerVie Boot Camp dynamic, fresh, and fun for both new and veteran participants.

"Boot camp is amazing," Sunnyvale Camper Audrey Dussault said, "It's different every day, and when you think you're going to do the same thing, they change it up."

"The women that come here are really looking to change themselves," Dussault continued, "The coaches are knowledgeable and really care that you succeed. You tell them where you want to go, and they'll do everything they can to get you there. With amazing coaches, an excellent work out plan, and a built in support system, really, what more could you ask for? I really can't say enough positive things about boot camp. It's definitely changed my life, and I feel that I will always have the support right there to help me."

PowerVie Boot Camp will continue help participants like Dussault reach their fitness goals.

"The difference," said Glenn, "Is that PowerVie will connect people with the larger AlaVie Fitness community and give them access to a whole range of health and wellness options."

About AlaVie Fitness
Founded in 2004 as Bay Area Boot Camp, AlaVie seeks to create a fitness community in which people have access to all the tools they need to live happier, healthier, and in balance. AlaVie's holistic approach to fitness is designed to give people the energy and support to make intelligent decisions about their (and their families') health.
Along with cutting edge PowerVie Boot Camp training, AlaVie's growing network of wellness providers connects program participants with many of the best health and fitness resources in the community. Keeping the Fur From Flying -- Veterinarians Turn to Central Vacuums for Hair, Dander Control

Keeping the Fur From Flying -- Veterinarians Turn to Central Vacuums for Hair, Dander Control

Veterinarians and other pet care providers are relying on central vacuum systems to create healthier exam and treatment rooms for pets and pet owner. The systems assure quick cleanups and prevent the spread of pet hair, dander and other allergens.

Andover, KS (PRWEB) August 16, 2010

When new clients bring their dogs and cats to Countryside Pet Clinic many express surprise that the clinic is quiet and virtually odor free. Dr. Kevin Cederberg, the veterinarian who founded the practice and a pet resort in suburban Wichita, credits much of the clinic’s hospitable atmosphere to his decision to install central vacuum systems in both facilities.

“By keeping it clean, you’re definitely removing a lot of the regular and perceived odors of a veterinary clinic,” Cederberg says. “Quietness is a big thing for us. You can get the vacuuming done with a critical-care patient present or with clients in the waiting room or exam rooms and they’re really not aware of a vacuum at all.”

Allen Ibsen, a veterinarian from Brookfield, Wis., who designs veterinary clinics across the country, has long included central vacuum systems in his designs.

“It takes a lot of labor to keep the veterinary hospitals clean,” says Ibsen. “I encourage central vacuums in the hospitals that I design for convenience and to speed up the cleaning process.”

From a business standpoint, the faster the cleaning process between appointments enhances staff efficiency and may allow veterinarians to serve more patients each day.

Cheney Door Co., a BEAM Central Vacuum System dealer, installed the first system for Cederberg in 1996 and recently replaced the unit with the BEAM Serenity QS power unit which quietly delivers 600 air watts of cleaning power – up to five times more powerful than a traditional upright or canister vacuum. A BEAM system also is installed in the neighboring Pet Resort, which provides day-care and boarding services for dogs and cats, including patients from the clinic.

Kenny Bomholt, sales manager at Cheney Door says that pet care industry represents a growing segment of his business. “Having a central vacuum system allows a veterinarian or even a pet grooming business to keep their facilities cleaner and to clean more quickly and that allows them to care for more pets,” he says.

Cederberg noted that his system is in constant use when patients are prepped for surgeries and to prevent hair from the surgical site during the procedures.

“Dogs and cats tend to shed more when they’re excited or nervous so we see a lot more hair that flies around,” Cederberg says.

Pet dander, especially cat dander, is a leading allergy trigger in humans and Cederberg says installing a central vacuum system in the home may be a smart decision for allergic pet owners. In fact, Cederberg recently installed a central vacuum in his own home.

“Anything we can do to reduce exposure to the dander and the hair, that’s good.”

New Teen Camp Launches to Meet Need for Personal Growth and Leadership

New Teen Camp Launches to Meet Need for Personal Growth and Leadership

TeenWork, a unique camp for teens will launch its first session in July 2004 at the Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge. By combining mindfulness meditation, experiential groupwork and skills building emotional intelligence the camp will develop the whole teenager and empower them to make a difference in their schools and communities.

(PRWEB) March 21, 2004

TeenWork, a unique new camp for teenagers, based in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania will launch its first session in July 2004 at the Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge. By combining mindfulness meditation, experiential group work, optimal nutrition and exercise the camp will provide aspiring teens the basics of personal and group leadership.

Teen entrepreneur, Courtney Quinn explains, “This camp goes beyond specific skill training in sports such as soccer, lacrosse or tennis to teach teens specific technologies for maintaining focus, emotional balance, and optimal health so that teens can manage their lives from the inside out. These are tools that many Olympic stars use. There’s a lot going on in the average teen’s life and this camp gives kids space to address the whole picture. I think more parents are realizing that this kind of camp is the next step beyond the usual sports camp because it improves each part of the person: body, mind and spirit and yet it is secular.”

Many teens are interested in meditation and experiential learning to learn to handle stress. Athletes use these techniques as a way to get an edge on their playing fields, and they often see it as a cure for burnout. Medical doctors are documenting that regular meditation and techniques for enhancing emotional intelligence improve equanimity, lower blood pressure and moderate blood sugar. The cover of TIME magazine had a feature article on meditation last summer, indicating that what was once alternative, like yoga, is quickly becoming mainstream.

The practical, personal learning methodologies presented in the TeenWork camp are uniquely tailored to develop the whole person and to empower them to make a difference in their schools and communities.

For more information and to register call Tara at (610) 469-5001 or visit the www. teenwork. net website. TeenWork camp will be held from July 11-15, and early registration is advised.

“This has been an amazing year for growth and acceptance of Lexile measures. Through agreements with leaders in education testing and assessment, publishing, and online libraries like Questia, we are continuing to see momentum for Lexiles as the most widely adopted reading measure in use in both K-12 and beyond, ” said Malbert Smith III, Ph. Small Publisher Targets Big Senior Citizen Book Market

Small Publisher Targets Big Senior Citizen Book Market

Publisher launches new brand of non-fiction books for senior citizens—The Senior Sleuth Guides—with plans to publish fifty-five titles in next five years.

Morrison, CO (PRWEB) April 3, 2010

Senior citizens buy books—a lot of books. According to a 2001 survey, senior citizens bought more than 1/3 of all books sold in the US for roughly $8 Billion in sales. And that was in 2001. Since then more Baby Boomers have entered the senior marketplace. On average, 7000 US citizens turn 55 each day.

“The already large senior book market is getting bigger every day,” said David Peterka, author and founder of The Senior Sleuth Guides. “It seemed odd that there weren’t already more books written specifically for senior citizens. We plan to fill that void with our titles.”

Conifer Books, publisher of The Senior Sleuth Guides, plans to release fifty-five new senior titles in the next five years. The first title, "The Senior Sleuth’s Guide to Technology for Seniors," was released on December 01, 2009. Five new titles are currently being developed for release in 2010.

“I admit that the fifty-five book target is a bit of a gimmick,” Peterka said, referring to the fifty-five-year entry age into the senior demographic. “We’re a small publishing company, so that’s an aggressive goal for us. But we’re committed to that number as a minimum target. If sales go really well, we’ll expand our titles into even more senior subjects.”

Conifer Books was established in 2009 in the midst of the economic recession. “We’re not as brave, or as foolish, as that makes us sound,” Peterka said. “Advances in print and distribution technologies have really democratized the publishing business. You can launch a new book on a national or even international stage for a relatively small investment. The key is to publish a good book. This is especially true for the senior market where some 90% of seniors participate in word-of-mouth viral marketing. If a product is good, they tell their friends.”

"The Senior Sleuth’s Guide to Technology for Seniors," the first Senior Sleuth Guide, provides a comprehensive look at those technologies that enrich the senior citizen experience. This book covers a broad range of topics of interest to seniors and their caregivers including computers, the Internet, health and medication management, independent living, modern communication, travel, and fun. "The Senior Sleuth’s Guide to Technology for Seniors" is available on Amazon. com and special order through most bookstores.

About Conifer Books:

Conifer Books is a small family owned publishing company based in Colorado. They own and publish The Senior Sleuth Guides line of books for senior citizens. You can learn more about The Senior Sleuth Guides at www. sleuthguides. com.

(PRWEB) January 21, 2004

Los Angeles, CA. (PRWEB) January 20th, 2003 - Hot on the heels of the President's State of the Union Address, the creators of the "Deck of Republican Chickenhawks" playing cards are now taking aim at bigger fowl. "The House of Cards: Deck of Bush", revealing 54 reasons why not to re-elect the president, can be viewed online at: www. deckofbush. com.

The creators, who have sold over 5,000 of their original "Chickenhawk" decks (which identified pro-war Republicans who avoided armed service) know the new deck focusing on the President will push several hot buttons this election year. With the information they contain refuting recent policies enacted by his administration, each card in the deck references a news source backing up each fact.

"As the Deck of Republican Chickenhawks and the Iraqi Most Wanted cards proved, thereÂ’s no better way to "out" the enemy than to depict it on a deck of cards" says creator Jerry Vasilatos. "The playing card phenomenon has become a great way to educate and inform people in an entertaining way. Our deck provides a great resource for Democratic, Progressive, and Moderate activists in identifying why regime change must begin at home this November."

Vasilatos utilized the four suits of the deck to identify the most pressing issues of the upcoming election year.

"The Spades in the deck reveal the President's alliance with the extreme right, special interests, claims he served in the military when he was actually AWOL and the fiasco in Florida where his allies helped seal his theft of the presidency. Hearts describe Bush's budget slashes that effect children, families, veterans, health care and the victimized families of 9/11. Diamonds recount the cronyism, corruption and sweetheart deals granted to big campaign contributors and corporate interests while US citizens foot the tax burden. Clubs cover the war in Iraq resulting in thousands of combined U. S. and Iraqi casualties while U. S. credibility hangs in the balance regarding unfound "Weapons of Mass Destruction". As for the Jokers, they expose Bush's biggest failures regarding the "War on Terror" and the security of all Americans."

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) April 12, 2010

InteractiveMD, a telehealth company that provides round-the-clock, remote access to board certified physicians, this week provided a glimpse into the future of healthcare with a preview of their new videoconferencing capability. WPLG Local 10, ABC News’ Miami affiliate, covered the exclusive preview as award-winning news anchor Kristi Krueger received an on-air video consultation with an InteractiveMD network physician. The mock diagnosis and treatment was conducted from the comfort of Mrs. Krueger’s office computer.

The segment offered the first-ever public viewing of InteractiveMD’s videoconferencing technology (http://www. justnews. com/video/23085467/index. html). In May, InteractiveMD will officially launch this robust functionality, allowing patients to see and consult with their physician in real-time. “Our goal is to enable people to take more effective control of their health and live better lives by harnessing the power of technology while respecting the traditions of medicine,” said Ghen Sugimoto, Vice President of InteractiveMD. “We’re thrilled to share this exclusive first viewing of our new and exciting healthcare delivery method. The addition of videoconferencing to the InteractiveMD platform delivers lifelike doctor-patient interactions for the diagnosis and treatment of many common medical conditions.”

Performing the video consultation was William Mazzei, M. D., a doctor who practices regularly on the InteractiveMD platform. “My 15 years of clinical practice have shown me that telehealth is an outstanding complement to traditional medicine,” Dr. Mazzei said. “By bringing healthcare to your home, office, or travel destination, telehealth can be truly life-changing for my patients.” Mazzei later took part in a live chat session featured on the WPLG Local 10 website, where viewers received immediate answers to their medical questions from InteractiveMD physicians.

Austin Daze Presents The Gourds for Holidaze Show

Austin Daze Presents The Gourds for Holidaze Show

Austin Daze Magazine presents a "Holidaze" show December 7, 2007 at Ruta Maya, featuring Austin's own legendary band "The Gourds". Proceeds to benefit the SIMS Foundation.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 14, 2007

Austin Daze Magazine presents a "Holidaze" show December 7, 2007 at Ruta Maya, featuring Austin's own legendary band "The Gourds" with proceeds benefitting the SIMS Foundation. Doors open at 9 p. m.

Hailed as possibly America's greatest songwriting duo, Gourd's songwriters "Kevin Russell and Jimmy Smith have written the most dense, reference-laden country songs of the last 10 years and almost single-handedly made a place for deep thought in a genre of "Honky Tonk Badonkadonks".

The Gourd's ninth studio release "Noble Creatures" is a slight departure from their usual ilk with ballad driven songs. Inspired by a single song based upon an accident while fiddling around with a ukulele chord book, which Kevin Russell claims is "surely the most stirring and beautiful" song he's ever written, the Gourd's boisterous rough edges still provide a barrage of amusing and thought-provoking images. With verses like "Jammin' on the old cartoons with the swagger of the immune / Sleeping like a fat raccoon / diabetic on a honeymoon, the Gourd's live shows are always a good bet.

The Austin Daze Magazine is a local, grassroots and soulful paper that bridges the gap between local, national and international personalities that come through Austin. The paper conducts great interviews and covers many of the events that make Austin special. Austin Daze has been in print for 8 years and continues to roll on strong with much community support. The paper has been keeping it real and doing it's best to share and showcase some of the undiscovered beauty alongside the well-known talent. The paper is released every two months in print format and is also online at http://www. austindaze. com (http://www. austindaze. com). Check out the past issues in the archive section.

The paper will give back to another organization that gives so much to the music community, The SIMS Foundation. Helping to keep Austin "The Live Music Capitol of the World," The SIMS Foundation is a safety net that provides low cost mental health services to musicians.

All the elements are in place for a very special night of music. Advance tickets can be purchased at http://www. austindaze. com (http://www. austindaze. com).

The Gourds are the consummate thinking-man's party band, strutting lyrics bordering on the beautifully obtuse and strumming tunes catchy enough to incite a swamp riot - Joe Battista, BC Music

They're best known, if at all, for their "hick-hop" cover of Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice" - Stephen Haag, PopMatters

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) April 19, 2006

Want a more positive workplace where you and your co-workers feel happy and motivated? Want to make customers happier so that their loyalty – and your profits – grow? Want to work more efficiently and effectively and improve your health? Authentic Happiness Coach and customer care expert JoAnna Brandi shared tips for transforming these wants into “haves” recently at the Customer Care Institute Annual Forum in Atlanta, Georgia. Her overall message: Happiness creates resilient employees who, in turn, create resilient, thriving companies.

“As an Authentic Happiness Coach, and my goal is to raise the tonnage of happiness on the planet – especially in the workplace,” said JoAnna Brandi, as she opened her presentation on the benefits of “workplace happiness” at the annual Customer Care Institute Forum in Atlanta, Georgia.

What’s happiness got to do with customer care and loyalty? Brandi, an expert on customer care, customer loyalty and happiness, said the level of happiness one feels is largely in one’s control – and there’s plenty of evidence that keeping it up can has far reaching business benefits. She should know; she’s a graduate of the Authentic Happiness program developed by Martin Seligman, the founder of positive psychology.

“Research proves that positive feelings reduce stress, build up the immune system and even enable people to think more holistically – to be open to new ideas and solve problems more quickly, efficiently and intelligently,” said Brandi. “Happy employees have a broader range of options to draw from; they are more creative and helpful. They are better equipped emotionally to create happy, loyal, referral generating customers.

“Ultimately, happy employees are more resilient. They help create resilient companies – ones that can withstand the challenges of an ever changing, increasingly competitive marketplace.”

Brandi explained that to get started at “adding happiness to your customer care tool kit,” it helps to practice eight happiness factors that are in everyone’s control. She said, “No matter what personality you were born with, no matter what your circumstances are, you can boost your feelings of happiness by taking charge of these eight factors.”

Happiness factors within one’s control include:

1) Optimism. “Despite what people say, optimism can be learned,” said Brandi. It’s about perspective, how a person chooses to interpret and explain what he experiences during the day. She said, “We are continuously making choices about how we explain the world to ourselves. If something challenging occurs and you think, ‘Just my luck. Bad things always happen to me,’ you are reducing your happiness. You can increase your happiness simply by choosing to think, ‘Hmmm. There must be something good about this situation – what could it be?’” She added that the power of optimism is not to be minimized – evidence shows that optimists live nine to ten years longer than people who are not optimistic.

2) Gratitude. Consciously, willingly and deliberately take moments throughout the day to feel gratitude, and to express it to others. Said Brandi, “I’ve advised businesses to start an ‘Employee Gratitude Journal in which everyone is encouraged to write down something for which they’re grateful every day. They’re always amazed at how powerful this inexpensive, quick and easy exercise is in creating a positive work environment and helping to transform the culture.”

3) Forgiveness. Brandi said that letting go of ill will toward others and oneself, surrendering resentments and regrets, and making peace with the past clears the way for happiness to be felt more often and more deeply.

4) Improve your self-talk. It’s important to transform your self-talk from negative and punishing to positive and energizing. Brandi said, “When you make a mistake and find yourself thinking, ‘You idiot,’ you know it’s time to take a deep breath, and ask yourself a question like, ‘How can I use my smarts to make this better?’ Positive self-talk diffuses stressful situations, and when the brain relaxes it is more creative and better at problem solving.”

5) “Flow.” Is there any activity, interest or hobby you enjoy so much that you lose all track of time when you’re engaged in it? Brandi explained that that state of being where you forget about everything else is called “flow.” Being in a state of flow actually increases one’s happiness.

6) Savor. “Savoring is about being in the moment,” said Brandi. “The great thing about savoring is that you can do it before an activity – by happily anticipating what’s to come, you can do it while you’re enjoying the activity, and you can savor your memories afterward. Savoring is a powerful tool!”

7) Reframe. This is another tool for shifting one’s perspective. Brandi suggested looking at a situation as if it were an actual photograph, and thinking about the dozens of way you could reframe it. She explained, “You can crop it, enlarge it, make it smaller. Whatever you do, you’re creating a different view and perspective of the same picture, which can help you to transform negative feelings and responses to a situation into positive, happier ones.”

8) Build on Strengths. Research shows that enduring happiness comes from spending time in one’s strengths – having the opportunity to do the things one does well even better. Brandi suggested, “Identify your strengths, then deliberately and creatively build on them. Evidence shows that over time, this skill works better at creating lasting happiness than antidepressants.”

“When you choose to be happy you’re choosing to create and work with a powerful business tool,” Brandi concluded. “Happiness restores humanity to the workplace so that everyone thrives in every way. The emotional well being of employees and customers is directly linked to a company’s profitability and resilience.”

SECAF’s Contractor Advice Forum Celebrates One Year

SECAF’s Contractor Advice Forum Celebrates One Year

Forum Has Been Well Received by SECAF Members Looking for Valuable Insight From Experts in Government Contracting Best Practices

Mc Lean, VA (PRWEB) December 8, 2010

The Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF), the premier organization for the small and emerging government contractor, is pleased to announce that its Contractor Advice Forum (CAF), a unique value-added service for SECAF member companies, had a successful inaugural year.

During its first year, the CAF assisted several SECAF members with questions in the areas of government procurement, financing and HR/recruiting. Along with providing expert advice both through email and face-to-face meetings, the CAF was also instrumental in arranging introductory meetings between one member and five potential financiers.

"The CAF has been a tremendous help with assisting our company in securing financial options regarding recapitalization,” said Jay Pendarvis, president and CEO, Cerebral Solutions Incorporated. “The uniqueness and value of the CAF centers around the seasoned executives, their resources and the board's collective knowledge of the entire federal contracting landscape. Securing a conventional lender has been a huge challenge, but with the CAF's help we now have options and I can foresee good financial health for our company going into the new fiscal year."

Started in January 2010, the CAF was created and launched by several SECAF board members as a way of engaging the contracting community in a learning environment. Established experts serve as resources for commonly sought questions in two primary segments:
“Ask the C-level” segments are peer-to-peer sessions entitled “Ask the CEO/President” and “Ask the CFO” that allow member CEOs and CFOs to ask questions directly to their designated CAF CEO/President and CFO Advisors.

“Functional Best Practice” consists of CAF Advisors providing advice in the following specialty categories of expertise: Information Technology, Human Resources, Mergers & Acquisitions, Financing, and Business Partnering/Market Penetration.

“The CAF performed exceptionally well during its introductory year and provided a great service to our members,” said CAF steering committee member Jack Hughes. “We look forward to continuing to serve this growing community and provide them with the tools and knowledge they need to remain successful.”

HTP Expands RevRunnersm Hospital Revenue Cycle Enhancement Suite to Increase Revenue from Self-Pays

HTP Expands RevRunnersm Hospital Revenue Cycle Enhancement Suite to Increase Revenue from Self-Pays

New HTP Advocatesm module streamlines patient payment cycle to boost cash flow.

HFMA ANI, ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) June 19, 2006

HTP, a leading developer of software solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced the addition of HTP Advocatesm to its HTP RevRunnersm suite of hospital revenue cycle enhancement software. HTP Advocate is designed to simplify and improve financial interactions between healthcare providers and their patients, resulting in improved cash flow and patient satisfaction.

"The HTP Advocate module will enable our customers to more efficiently and effectively manage the patient payment cycle," said HTP CEO Ray Shealy. "Since the majority of healthcare organizations operate on razor-thin financial margins, finding ways to increase cash flow is critical to their continuing ability to provide quality care."

Although healthcare providers traditionally have obtained the bulk of their revenue from insurers and government health programs, today individual patients are responsible for more than 10 percent of all hospital billings – a figure that is expected to grow to 30 percent by 2012, according to research by Zimmerman and Associates. This reflects an increase in deductibles and co-pays for patients with insurance as well as the growing number of uninsured patients.

HTP Advocate helps the healthcare provider to identify the optimal payment path for patients through an automated, Web-based solution that uses a range of hospital, third-party and government data to assess each patient's insurance coverage, financial resources and ability to pay. It easily integrates with existing hospital patient financial systems, enabling hospitals to collect co-payments at the time of registration and to gauge the percentage of charges not covered by insurance. Depending upon the patient's ability to pay, the hospital can assist the patient in applying for government or charity programs, set up a payment schedule, or decide to write off the charges as uncollectible.

Through its enhanced tool sets and unlimited data transactions through electronic data interchange (EDI), HTP Advocate can:

Reduce denials with streamlined verification of patients’ insurance coverage, ability to pay and debt scoring prior to delivering healthcare services  Automate financial aid application and qualification processes  Accurately calculate patient out-of-pocket expenses at or before time of service  Advise patients on their financial obligations and options for payment  Increase collection of payment at time of visit  Minimize bad-debt write-offs by monitoring payments

With the addition of the HTP Advocate module, HTP RevRunner provides a comprehensive, automated solution that allows healthcare providers to develop a community-sensitive patient financial advocacy program, efficiently identify insurance eligibility and proactively monitor the status of claims.

HTP Advocate is available as a stand-alone module or as part of the HTP RevRunner suite of Revenue Cycle Enhancement software. For more information, visit www. htp-inc. com.

New Flu Shot Clinics for Residents of Western New York and Surrounding Counties

A series of new flu shot clinics will be held in Fort Erie, Ontario exclusively for residents of Western New York and the surrounding counties. Ontario based MediTours in co-operation with ParaMed Home Health Care are offering 5 clinics during the first week of January 2005

Fort Erie, Ontario, (PRWEB) December 22, 2004

A series of new flu shot clinics will be held in Fort Erie, Ontario exclusively for residents of Western New York and the surrounding counties. Ontario based MediTours in co-operation with ParaMed Home Health Care are offering 5 clinics during the first week of January 2005 at the Holiday Inn Fort Erie/Niagara Convention Center at 1485 Garrison Road in Fort Erie, Ontario. The clinic is a one-minute drive from the Peace Bridge. The clinics are being offered as a result of the flu vaccine shortage in the U. S. The 5 clinics will provide over 2500 flu shots.

Western New Yorkers of all ages and risk categories may pre-register online at www. meditours. ca/flushot (http://www. meditours. ca/flushot). The website also provides more information about clinic dates, times and locations. The cost per shot is $40 (USD) and may be paid in advance online or at the clinic. Registrants who choose to pay in advance online will receive an exact appointment time and avoid waiting in long lineups. Those choosing to pay at the clinic will be served on a first come first served basis and will be required to wait in line to receive their flu shot.

Clinics will be held on the following dates:

January 4, 2005 – 6pm-10pm – Holiday Inn Fort Erie/Niagara Convention Center January 5, 2005 – 6pm-10pm – Holiday Inn Fort Erie/Niagara Convention Center January 6, 2005 – 6pm-10pm – Holiday Inn Fort Erie/Niagara Convention Center January 8, 2005 – 9am-4pm – Holiday Inn Fort Erie/Niagara Convention Center January 9, 2005 – 9am-4pm – Holiday Inn Fort Erie/Niagara Convention Center

MediTours planned the clinics when Canadian flu vaccine manufacturer ID Biomedical announced in early December that it would not be selling its 1.2 million doses of surplus flu vaccine to the U. S government but instead would retain the surplus to be sold to the Canadian government and other private Canadian facilities. MediTours is accessing this surplus for the exclusive purpose of vaccinating residents of Western New York who have still not received their flu shot.

About MediTours

MediTours is an Ontario based company launched in 2004 in response to the health care crisis in Ontario. MediToursÂ’ mission is to provide patients with immediate and easy access to health care services that are not available in a timely manner. MediTours anticipates that it will be a leader in alternative access to traditional medical treatments.
