This audio conference provided information for those seeking time sensitive information on preventing reimbursement denials using successful quality assurance tools, as well as an introduction to the ten-part mini-series Brewer will develop to add to Dynamic's extensive online library. Participating students were eligible to receive professional contact hours for continuing education.

The audio conference consisted of a one-hour long slide presentation, made available to for download to registered students on the Dynamic Learning Online website. New Health Reform Law Claim Denial Appeal Book Announced for Healthcare Providers to Comply with New PPACA Deadline - 09/23/2010

New Health Reform Law Claim Denial Appeal Book Announced for Healthcare Providers to Comply with New PPACA Deadline - 09/23/2010

The First New Health Reform Law, PPACA, Claim Denial Appeal CD Book Was Announced by ERISAclaim. com for Healthcare Providers to Appeal Claim Denials and Delays, to Comply with New Health Reform Law, Going into Effect on Sept. 23, 2010, for All Group Health Plans And Healthcare Providers.

Hanover Park, IL (PRWEB) June 28, 2010

ERISAclaim. com announced the nation's first new Health Reform Law, PPACA, Claim Denial Appeal CD Book, for healthcare providers to meet the compliance deadline for Sept. 23, 2010, and to appeal claim denials and delays under new Health Reform Law, Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act, PPACA, going into effect on Sept. 23, 2010 for all group health plans and healthcare providers. Since HHS, DOL and IRS released the first set of Interim Final Rules on June 17, 2010 for implementing PPACA by Sept. 23, 2010, Federal government has practically initiated enforcement historical clock envisioned by President Obama. All healthcare providers, physicians and hospitals, without PPACA compliance by Sept. 23, 2010 will be found in violation of PPACA with unexpected claim denials by health plans under PPACA. According to the new PPACA Fact Sheet published by DOL, HHS and IRS, new PPACA will cover 193 million people, and PPACA mandates new PPACA (ERISA & NAIC) Appeal Process.

New Health Reform Law, PPACA, Claim Denial Appeal CD Book is published with 9 year success based on ERISAclaim. com's ERISA Appeal CD Book & System, as the only ERISA Appeal Book for health providers in the country in the past 35 years. The PPACA / ERISA Appeal CD Book is priced at $450 and available now from ERISAclaim. com web site. The healthcare providers who used ERISAclaim's ERISA CD Book appeal letters have won a recent major federal court decision in the largest historical ERISA provider class action lawsuit with court permission to proceed against almost all Blue Cross and Blue Shield Entities in the now popular overpayment recoupment dispute. The court affirmed all of the ERISA appeal legal points from the actual appeal letters, according to Dr. Jin Zhou, author of the Book and President of ERISAclaim. com.

The Court Case is Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association et al. vs. Blue Cross Blue Shield Association et al., Case #: 1:09-cv-05619, on May 17, 2010. A copy of the federal court ruling is available at:

(http://www. erisaclaim. com/BCBS_Overpayment_%20Class_Action_Opinion. pdf (http://www. erisaclaim. com/BCBS_Overpayment_%20Class_Action_Opinion. pdf))

A copy of the Press Release from the lead class plaintiff law firm is available at:

(http://insurancenewsnet. com/article. aspx? id=192735&type=newswires (http://insurancenewsnet. com/article. aspx? id=192735&type=newswires))

Dr. Zhou further explained that the SEC. 2719 of PPACA has adopted ERISA claim regulation, in its entirety, the 35 year old ERISA law and the "established process", for PPACA internal appeal process, and NAIC Review Model as External Appeal Process that is binding for all health plans.

According to Dr. Jin Zhou, his company has been teaching weekly and monthly webinars on PPACA ever since PPACA was enacted on March 23, 2010, attended by professionals from every segment of the industry with great success. There have been strong awareness and demand by hospitals for PPACA compliance by Sept 23, 2010, especially when hospitals are faced with new Medicare fee cut and increasingly disappointing reimbursement by managed care payers.

Dr. Jin Zhou also alerted all healthcare providers that Federal Government, DOL, HHS and IRS have issued new sets of regulations to implement and enforce PPACA, and PPACA federally mandates ERISA appeal process for all group health plans and healthcare providers. More new Federal Regulations are released at DOL and HHS web sites:

"Affordable Care Act Regulations and Guidance" (http://www. dol. gov/ebsa/healthreform/ (http://www. dol. gov/ebsa/healthreform/))

As Dr. Zhou noted from DOL, HHS & IRS PPACA Fact Sheet, The New PPACA on Sept. 23, 2010 will cover about 133 million people under self-insured health plans, 43 million under fully insured plans, and 17 million under individual market. A total of 193 million people will be governed under PPACA on Sept. 23, 2010, and an estimated 32 million more will be covered under PPACA by 2014. No hospital can afford to ignore 193 million people's healthcare coverage and possible reimbursement, said Dr. Jin Zhou.

In the past 10 years in USA, ERISAclaim. com has been the only ERISA Specialized Company offering the most practical and comprehensive ERISA education, consulting and publishing services for healthcare providers in administrative ERISA appeals for real problem oriented denials under the most mysterious 35-year-old federal law, ERISA. Dr. Jin Zhou, the President of ERISAclaim. com has been referred to as "the Godfather of ERISA Claims" for providers in the healthcare industry.

LegalView Alerts Readers of New Avandia Dangers for Women Taking the Type 2 Diabetes Drug

LegalView Alerts Readers of New Avandia Dangers for Women Taking the Type 2 Diabetes Drug

LegalView recently informed individuals of updated Avandia information regarding the type 2 diabetes drug that is allegedly increasing bone fractures among women patients. The information will soon be on the LegalView Avandia practice area and comes from a recent British analysis on the drug.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) December 16, 2008

LegalView. com, the number one legal resource available on the Internet, recently reported updated news on the Avandia information (http://avandia. legalview. com) portal describing the drug's alleged increase of bone fractures among women using the type 2 diabetes drugs. According to the results of a study on the drugs published in an online version of a Dec. 10 issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal, both Avandia (rosiglitazone) and Actos (pioglitazone), which are part of a group of diabetes prescription drugs known as thiazolidinediones, have allegedly caused a reduction of bone density in the hips and spines among women patients. Individuals who are consuming Avandia may want to speak with their physician about the potential Avandia side effects (http://avandia. legalview. com/avandia-side-effects. aspx), especially women who are type 2 diabetics. Additionally, it is advisable for a patient consuming either drug to speak with a pharmaceutical attorney regarding the development of potential litigation such as a potential Avandia class action lawsuit (http://avandia. legalview. com/avandia-lawsuit. aspx).

Avandia, from GlaxoSmithKline, was introduced to the market in May 1999, and has since been prescribed to millions of patients across the country. A news article published in the Washington Post on Dec. 10 estimates that approximately 4 million Americans currently consume some form of a thiazolidinediones, which includes Avandia.

According to news reports, the British analysis studied 10 clinical trials in which approximately 13,725 diabetics who consumed either Avandia, Actos or neither drug were studied with their bone density in their spine and hips measured. According to the research, 1 in 55 women with a "low risk for fractures" would likely experience a bone fracture while taking either drug. For those women at risk for bone fractures prior to consumption of Avandia or Actos, approximately 1 in every 21 woman would suffer a bone fracture, according to the results of the study published in the Washington Post. Women consuming either of the drugs may want to consult an attorney or an Avandia lawyer (http://avandia. legalview. com/avandia-lawyer. aspx), for example, someone specializing in either drug, who can provide a free legal consultation on the development of a potential Avandia lawsuit.

LegalView also provides a library of other legal information portals including the latest on Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis, mesothelioma and additional pharmaceutical drugs including the Baxter Heparin controversy.

Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF) is a rare and debilitating condition that often effects movement of the joints as the skin begins to thicken and swell around the limb's joints. While the condition has yet to have a determined cause, it has been linked to the administration of gadolinium dyes among kidney disease patients receiving magnetic resonance imaging/magnetic resonance angiography (MRI/MRA) procedures. Patients who suffer from this condition can learn about developing a potential NSF lawsuit (http://nsf-nephrogenic-systemic-fibrosis. legalview. com), which may result in the award of monetary compensation to pay for treatments of the disease's side effects.

Similar to NSF is the rare and often untreatable mesothelioma cancer, which has been linked to the inhalation of asbestos fibers and dust. Individuals who have developed mesothelioma often suffer an uphill battle with the cancer's side effects, the grim diagnosis and the expensive treatments. Victims of mesothelioma may want to speak with a mesothelioma law firm (http://mesothelioma. legalview. com/find-mesothelioma-law-firm. aspx) to better understand how to improve their situation.

In addition to information on rare diseases and illnesses, LegalView offers a plethora of information on pharmaceutical controversies including that of the Baxter Heparin recall (http://baxter-heparin. legalview. com). Heparin, from Baxter Healthcare Corporation, is a blood thinner that has been used during surgical procedures including heart surgery and dialysis. Earlier this year, hundreds of patients began reporting violent allergic reactions to the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding the drug, which has since been recalled due to an alleged tainted batch that has sparked an international controversy. Patients who were affected by the scandal can learn more at www. LegalView. com/ (http://www. LegalView. com/).

Experts on the Future Gather in Washington, D. C

Experts on the Future Gather in Washington, D. C.

Futurists from more than 20 countries — from Argentina to Thailand, from Finland to New Zealand — will gather in Washington, D. C., July 31, 2004, for three days of intense discussions concerning the world’s future.

BETHESDA, MD (PRWEB) July 13, 2004

Futurists from more than 20 countries — from Argentina to Thailand, from Finland to New Zealand — will gather in Washington, D. C., July 31, 2004, for three days of intense discussions concerning the world’s future.

Terrorism, globalization, emerging diseases, and advancing technologies are among the myriad topics to be aired at this gathering of forward-thinkers, trend-trackers, and visionaries. “WorldFuture 2004: Creating the Future Now,” sponsored by the World Future Society, will be held at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel.

Kicking off the three-day event will be speeches by economist-author Jeremy Rifkin on hydrogen’s growing importance and by inventor and high-tech entrepreneur Ray Kurzweil on the coming merger of human and machine.

“Hydrogen has the potential to end the world’s reliance on imported oil and help defuse the dangerous geopolitical game being played out between Muslim militants and Western nations,” says Rifkin. Potential developments could result in the first truly democratic energy regime in history.

Kurzweil will detail technologies that will profoundly affect our environment, our bodies, and our brains, vastly extending longevity, improving performance, and enhancing intelligence.

Closing the conference on Monday, Aug. 2, will be talks by former Colorado governor Richard D. Lamm on twenty-first-century health care and by Intel Corp. vice president David L. Tennenhouse on computers that anticipate human needs and act on our behalf.

Between the opening and the closing sessions, more than 180 futurists are scheduled to address the attendees. Check http://www. wfs. org (http://www. wfs. org) for conference updates, schedules, and a complete list of presenters and topics.

Highlights include:

 Terrorism: Marvin Cetron (president, Forecasting International) and Stephen M. Millett (thought leader, Battelle) discuss long-term trends and likely outcomes of terrorist threats.

 Sports: Kenneth Harris (chair, the Consilience Group) and Robin Gunston (chair, New Zealand Futures Trust) consider global attitudes and effects of community-based initiatives on the future of sports and games.

 Health care: Clement Bezold and William Rowley (Institute for Alternative Futures) review choices for health care in the twenty-first century.

 Emerging disease: Kimbal E. Cooper, Laszlo Kerecsen, and Tyler A. Kokjohn (Midwestern University) detail impacts of emerging disease on public health care, globalization, food production, and the environment.

 Cyber insecurity: Bill Neugent (MITRE) shows how computer dependencies and threats are growing worse and what steps are urgently needed to mitigate oncoming cyber disasters.

 That’s Enterbrainment!: Edie Weiner (president, Weiner, Edrich, Brown, Inc.) on the brain — how it works, why it works the way it does, and how to use it to improve human performance —and on the power of “what if” to reveal the future and spur innovation.

Former U. S. ambassador John W. McDonald, will inaugurate the World Future Society’s Future Generations Fund, an exciting initiative to assist young people in acquiring the necessary knowledge to manage their personal futures. The Fund will go toward scholarships, classroom resources, and programs to enable students to become effective stewards of the future.

In addition to bringing together the experts, the World Future Society has focused on involving youth from all over the globe. Venezuelan students are earning World Future Society scholarships to attend the conference to hear about futurist developments first-hand and to present papers they have written.

Conference director Susan Echard reports that a number of U. S. high-school students — future problem-solvers who use futures curricula in their classrooms — are planning to attend and share their lessons learned.

Edward Cornish, editor of THE FUTURIST magazine, will launch his new book "Futuring: The Exploration of the Future." This groundbreaking volume explains how people can anticipate future developments and plan their futures using techniques refined by scientists in think tanks.

The World Future Society is the largest and oldest organization in the world devoted to studying the future. Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, the Society publishes the bimonthly FUTURIST magazine.

Ten Tips For Good Parenting Makes Solutions Clear

Ten Tips For Good Parenting Makes Solutions Clear

Did you know that parental intervention is the best medicine in preventing bad kids? Youth Expert Dr. Michael Dana has developed a free booklet called “Children on the Brink” in conjunction with ARARealLife. com (a Life Coaching organization) because “one of the tragedies of youth development today is that solutions are sought after a child’s difficult behavior has become a major issue.”

McLean, VA (PRWEB) February 25, 2005

Youth Expert Dr. Michael Dana has developed a free booklet called “Children on the Brink” in conjunction with ARARealLife. com (a Life Coaching organization) because “one of the tragedies of youth development today is that solutions are sought after a child’s difficult behavior has become a major issue.”

WhatÂ’s the mission of good parenting? How many parents know how to recognize the underlying hidden factors in JohnnyÂ’s misbehavior and SusieÂ’s poor grades? A concerned parent can do something by identifying risk factors and learning how to take appropriate action. For most parents the hardest thing is to set realistic limits and enforce them consistently and this is where a good support system can make a difference.

Life coaching can help both parents and kids develop goals that are in sync with their dreams and help a child create healthy ways to express emotions. According to Dr. Dana, “Much acting out results from kids not knowing how to handle their emotions. They might display anger in an explosive and dangerous manner that could get out of hand or suffer the stifling of all emotion out of fear of retribution or alienation.”

Tips for setting realistic limits, creating ways for your child to express emotions, being a positive role model and other easy to understand approaches to good parenting are available in the Free “Children on the Brink” brochure by visiting ARARealLife. com.

Listen to Dr. DanaÂ’s teleseminar, (or get a transcript free at ARARealLife. com) which includes questions and answers like:

Have a heart to heart talk with a single mom who has a couple of preteens and teens. What are the 2 things you'd tell her to start doing immediately?

What do you think the top three things kids want from their parents?

How can life coaching help parents and kids get along better?

Are kids really any different than they were 35 or 40 years ago?

Good parenting and life-coaching can make a difference in preventing difficulties with children and dealing constructively with problem behaviors. To find out more request a copy of “Children on the Brink” or listen to White House authority Dr. Michael Dana at ARARealLife. com

Maine-Made 'Good Clean Food' Line of All-Natural Simmer Sauces Attracting Customers from Maine to Kentucky

Maine-Made 'Good Clean Food' Line of All-Natural Simmer Sauces Attracting Customers from Maine to Kentucky

Hand-crafted "Slow Food in a Jar" sauces made in Maine are offering fresh flavor and dinnertime convenience - and catching on quickly with customers. All-natural Creole, Mediterranean and Scandinavian Dill sauces from Maine-based Good Clean Food are being distributed at 72 supermarket locations to date, and receiving rave reviews from shoppers. Plans for additional flavorful dinner sauces are in the works.

Portland, ME (PRWEB) June 7, 2007

Maine's Good Clean Food (http://www. goodcleanfood. com) today announced that its line of all-natural, one-step simmer sauces is being offered by a growing number of high-profile, national supermarkets. The company's refrigerated simmer sauces are now being sold in the fresh seafood departments of 72 market locations, by both Whole Food Markets and Hannaford Brothers, from northern Maine down to Louisville, Kentucky. Additional concrete growth plans are underway at Good Clean Food for flavor-filled, new product offerings and for continued market expansion, according to the company's President and Founder, Kurt Shisler.

"We're very encouraged that our Maine-made simmer sauces have so quickly caught on with shoppers," Shisler noted. "We think this is a fair indicator that people want to prepare and serve fresh, healthy dinners, but often lack the time or cooking experience to make that happen. There's so much to be said about the very real connection that comes from enjoying great meals with one another, and I think this is a main reason why our simmer sauces are really appealing to so many folks."

Launched in September 2006, the story of Good Clean Food represents a bona fide story of American ingenuity. While a business school graduate student in Boston, Shisler, who has always enjoyed cooking, prepared a meal for his new friends. The meal contained only the freshest vegetables and ingredients available, including seafood straight off of a waterfront boat. Fourteen hours of shopping, chopping and stock-making later, Shisler added fresh fish, simmered for 10 minutes, and ladled out the bouillabaisse to end all bouillabaisses. One of his dinner guests remarked that he wished Shisler could put that whole day's work in a jar - and so, Good Clean Food was born.

Good Clean Food simmer sauces for seafood - Mediterranean, Creole and Scandinavian Dill - are as honest and pure as the company's own name. Praised by customers as much for their robust flavors as for their healthy ingredients, Good Clean Food's hand-crafted sauces represent a whole new "quality in a jar" food offering. The sauces have been earning high marks for dinnertime convenience, as well. Their one-step, 10-minute preparation makes every meal with the company's sauces an easy-to-assemble, flavorful success.

Each artisanal jar of Good Clean Food sauce uses only fresh, all-natural ingredients that are chopped and prepared by hand. Shisler's sauces are low-sodium and low-fat, and contain no antibiotics, no additives and no GMOs.

"We put a lot of effort toward creating our recipes and toward the actual preparation of our sauces," said Shisler. "We're convinced that our small-batch cooking method and our use of quality ingredients make an enormous difference - not just in the great flavor and texture of our sauces, but also in terms of people's good health."

In good culinary news, the simmer sauces continue to earn growing popularity among Good Clean Food's devoted, expanding customer base. The many enthusiastic feedback comments the company has received since its successful launch help illustrate the sauces' appeal: "Outrageously good," wrote one Hartford, CT customer, while a New York City customer wrote that the simmer sauce "makes ordinary fish taste amazing." "I can't believe it, but thanks to Good Clean Food, my kids are happily eating fish," according to another satisfied customer in Portland, ME, while a shopper from North Wales, PA noted "I like this very much … what a great, easy dinner."

The Portland company has plans for new product offerings in the works, as well. In addition to its upcoming launch of flavorful simmer sauces for chicken this summer, Good Clean Food also is testing and perfecting recipes for lines of seasonal sauces, grilling sauces and vegetarian dinner sauces.

"Given the enthusiastic customer response we're seeing during this first year, we have high hopes for our upcoming new lines of sauces," Shisler added. "When we first started, we set the healthy goal of proving that all-natural sauces didn't mean having to sacrifice flavor. So far, we've done a pretty good job of reaching that goal."

Massachusetts Medical Society Welcomes Focus, Heightened Effort on Proposals for Universal Health Care

Massachusetts Medical Society Welcomes Focus, Heightened Effort on Proposals for Universal Health Care

State physicians' organizations welcomes efforts to achieve universal health care coverage

Waltham, MA (PRWEB) April 8, 2005

The Massachusetts Medical Society said today it welcomed the continued enthusiastic focus on the effort to provide universal health care coverage for Massachusetts citizens, as evidenced by separate proposals issued today by Governor Mitt Romney and Senate President Robert Travaglini.

Alan C. Woodward, M. D., president of the statewide association of physicians, said “I applaud and congratulate the governor and our Senate leaders on their efforts. It appears now that we are gaining the political will to establish universal coverage in the Commonwealth. We still have a long way to go, and it will take cooperation, courage and compromise, but I believe we are moving in the right direction to achieve the objective.”

Woodward said universal access to care has long been a goal of the Massachusetts Medical Society, whose members number more than 18,000 physicians throughout the state. “While we have one of the lowest rates of uninsured in the nation at between 8-9 percent according to figures from the Urban Institute, reaching this goal is essential,” said Woodward. “That percentage may be small, but it translates to more than 530,000 individuals without coverage for care.”

“The uninsured live sicker, and die younger,” said Woodward. “We have a moral imperative to ensure that all citizens have access to basic health care. It is critical that physicians contribute to the process of finding ways to assure that our patients can get access to necessary health care, and we will be working to achieve consensus and move the issue forward to resolution.”

In 2003, the Society established a Task Force on Universal Health Care and Health Systems Reforms to take its first steps on fact-finding and information gathering. Within the last year, Woodward established a Massachusetts Medical Society Task Force on Universal Access, whose primary focus was finding and supporting a plan of specific actions and principles that will help the state provide universal coverage.

The Task Force is in the process of undertaking analyses of the many proposals put forth that seek to achieve universal coverage. Among those are the plans proposed by Health Care for All, the Health Care for Massachusetts Campaign (Constitutional Amendment), The Roadmap to Coverage from Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Single Payer Advocates/MassCare, American Medical Association, and Governor RomneyÂ’s Commonwealth Care Initiatives, as well as those plans currently emerging.

The Massachusetts Medical Society supports universal coverage that incorporates the five principles from the Institute of Medicine’s January 2004 report, “Insuring American’s Health: Principles and Recommendations.” The report recommended that health care coverage should be (1) universal, (2) continuous, (3) affordable to individuals and families, (4) affordable and sustainable for society, and (5) should enhance health and well-being by being effective, efficient, safe, timely, patient-centered, and equitable.

The Massachusetts Medical Society, with some 18,300 physicians and student members, is dedicated to educating and advocating for the patients and physicians of Massachusetts. The Society publishes The New England Journal of Medicine, one of the worldÂ’s leading medical journals; the Journal Watch family of professional newsletters covering 11 specialties; and AIDS Clinical Care. The Society is also a leader in continuing medical education for health care professionals throughout Massachusetts. Founded in 1781, MMS is the oldest continuously operating medical society in the country. For more information, visit http://www. massmed. org (http://www. massmed. org)

Experience the XGames in the Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Fairfield

Experience the XGames in the Veterans Day Parade in Downtown Fairfield.

Perfection On Wheels will be performing bicycle flatland freestyle in this year in the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Fairfield, CA. on Thursday November 11th 2004 at 12:30 PM. This is the first time Fairfield has had this type of participant in its parades to date. Perfection on wheels will be performing backward wheelies, high speed spinning tricks, front wheel wheelies and many other tricks throughout the parade route.

Fairfield, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2004

This sport is of interest to all ages, men and women, boys and girls. Sports officials agree “BMX flatland is the toughest form of bicycle riding and one of the most skill intensive sports in the world today”. Perfection On Wheels will be at the downtown Veterans Day parade to entertain all, and introduce this sport to those who are unfamiliar with it. BMX flatland freestyle came out of the 80's BMX scene and has grown from who does the longest wheelie to stringing several different much more difficult tricks together in a non stop routine that can last as long as 2 or more minutes. This form of bicycle riding does not require any ramps or special equipment other than a BMX bicycle with axel pegs and a flat surface to ride on, making it fairly easy to get into. Also being fairly portable this form of personal expression is the perfect medium to add to television commercials, videos and film. Recently BMX flatland freestyle has been featured in several television commercials for such companies as Mountain Dew and Burger King as well as music videos and movies.

The parade starts at 12:30 PM at the corner of Webster Street and Kentucky Street in downtown Fairfield. The parade follows Kentucky Street toward Pennsylvania Avenue and turns left on Taylor St. then follows Taylor St. for two blocks where it turns left on Texas St. The parade follows Texas Street to the intersection of Texas St. and Washington St. then turns left on Washington where it ends on the corner of Washington and Tennessee.

Featured riders will be Rick De Laney and XGames veteran Wayne Seigmund, both local flatland pros. Wayne Seigmund who has been doing BMX shows and competitions for the past 19 years has been seen in competitions on ESPN. Rick De Laney has been competing for 4 years with the last 2 concentrating on television and movie appearances. Most recently ”Gone but Not Forgotten” and “Her Minor Thing”. Both Wayne and Rick now ride for Perfection on Wheels doing anti-drug, alcohol and smoking shows in schools all over northern California

Perfection On Wheels performs at schools all over the United States with a personal health, bicycle safety, antidrug, alcohol and smoking program. They also perform bicycle safety demonstrations at community events, bicycle shops and retail outlets.

Superior Nut Company Promotes Nuts As Healthy Holiday Gifts

Superior Nut Company Promotes Nuts As Healthy Holiday Gifts

New England-based Company Promotes Heart-Healthy Snacks During Holiday Season.

Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) November 23, 2009

As the holidays approach, many gifters are tempted to opt for candy or fruitcake as ideal gifts. Instead, Superior Nut Company urges shoppers to consider a healthy alternative to holiday gifts: dried fruits and nuts.

Even in small servings, nuts have high nutritional value, are heart-healthy and full of vitamins. Many varieties of nuts have antioxidant properties or have been shown to lower LDL “bad” cholesterol.

This season is the first that Superior Nut Company is offering its new Custom Gift Baskets, which let shoppers build their own ‘ultimate’ gift basket any way they want. Some of our favorite possibilities with healthful properties include:

Pecans: Pecans are sodium-free and promote an increased metabolism, which is beneficial for weight loss.

Dates: Medjool dates are great energy boosting snacks that are still healthy. They are one of the best sources of potassium and polyphenols. A daily serving of dates can reduce the risk of stroke due to their potassium content.

Dark Chocolate: According to medical studies, dark chocolate has been linked to decreases in high blood pressure and is, just like many of our first quality nuts, an excellent antioxidant.

For the holidays or all year ‘round, Superior Nut Company offers gourmet gift baskets (http://www. superiornutstore. com/gift-basket. html) featuring our healthy nut and dried fruit products.

About Superior Nut Company:
The Superior Nut Company provides its customers with the highest quality nuts (http://www. superiornutstore. com/nuts-dried-fruits. html), dried fruit and chocolates. Founded by Nubar Hintlian in 1929 as a one-person operation, Superior Nut Company has grown into its current four-story location in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company has been recognized with a prestigious Environmental Merit Award for its eco-friendly forest plantation in Costa Rica. 1% of all sales at SuperiorNutStore. com are donated to the Reforest The Tropics program, a partner of the Billion Tree Campaign.

Chapter Excerpt from Of Permanent Value: The Story of Warren Buffett / 2008 Cosmic Edition by Andy Kilpatrick - An Interview with Warren Buffett's Fitness Trainer

Chapter Excerpt from Of Permanent Value: The Story of Warren Buffett / 2008 Cosmic Edition by Andy Kilpatrick - An Interview with Warren Buffett's Fitness Trainer

The following is an excerpt from Andy Kilpatrick's biography on Warren Buffett, Of Permanent Value: The Story of Warren Buffett / 2008 Cosmic Edition. This particular chapter profiles Warren Buffett's fitness trainer, Michelle Streif, and explains the Oracle of Omaha's workout in detail. Additional excerpts from the book are available at the following links: Buffett on Generics, the Opening Chapter, highlights from the Berkshire Hathaway annual meetings, and the initial press release outlining the book. The book can be purchased from Amazon by following this link.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (PRWEB) April 30, 2008

At 7 a. m. sharp each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Buffett's fitness trainer arrives at his house, enters the large family room downstairs and coaches Buffett through a series of exercises lasting 45 minutes.

"He's always on time," says Michelle Streif, Buffett's trainer. "He has his weight gloves on, ready to go."

About three years ago, Buffett's doctor told him that although he was in good health, he needed either to change his diet or get more exercise. Buffett has joked that he'll never give up hamburgers and Cokes so he opted instead for an exercise regime.

As for a fitness trainer, the doctor recommended the six-footer Michelle Streif, a married 41-year-old who has a lengthy background in sports and dance and degrees in physical fitness. With an undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and a master's degree in health education/gerontology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Michelle has been in the fitness industry for 22 years. She runs Well Bound Health & Fitness in Omaha.

When they started the workouts, Buffett told her to order whatever equipment would be needed but he ended up spending only about $200 "on the basics," Michelle says. A body wedge, a stability ball, foam rollers, various resistance bands, a medicine ball, and a training table were purchased.

Buffett walks on a treadmill, even the weekdays between training sessions, and lifts weights, but Michelle also works with him on strength, balance, flexibility, and stamina. "Sometimes I can even sneak in some Pilates or Yoga moves. He always seems motivated by a challenge," she says.

Although Buffett exercises with great energy, he doesn't have a natural love for doing it. "He doesn't really enjoy it, but he's very focused and competitive and never complains when we do more," says Michelle. "He gives it 100%."

Have these workouts improved his strength, stamina, and shape? "With dumbbells, he's gone from 7 to 10 pounds up to 25 pounds in each hand," says Michelle. "He does many pushups and some sit-ups and has increased amazingly in those (sit-ups)." He can do 50 or more sit-ups. (Maybe Arnold did get to Buffett when he threatened that he'd have to do 500 sit-ups if he mentioned taxes in California again.) "He's amazing," Michelle says. "He's in better shape than most 30-year-olds." Buffett has even had some suits taken in.

What else goes on during the exercise sessions? TV watching and limited talking are the diversion activities. While working out, Buffett watches TV--usually CNBC's "Squawk Box" or a "Charlie Rose Show." On the other hand, Michelle admits to being a talker, but she says, "I try to hold my talking to the commercials." She talks with him about sports and Husker football. But otherwise, she said, he's very focused with what's on TV.

"When something has his attention on TV, I've told him I could be topless and he wouldn't notice. He's incredibly focused."

Are you seeing the obvious? Buffett is a very focused person in all he does. "He's thinking, 'I have things to do, and I'm not giving in.'"

Michelle thinks Buffett has many healthy years ahead of him. "Most people his age are on six or seven medications." Buffett is on no medications, and abhors the thought of any medication, says Michelle.

Everyone knows what Buffett eats for lunch and dinner, and his doctor does not speak highly of that intake. So what does Buffett eat in the morning? "After the workout, he'll have a Coke or a Cherry Coke and, occasionally, a banana," according to Michelle.

Go figure!

Silver Spring, MD (Vocus) May 3, 2010

Danya International, Inc. (Danya), a communications, research, and technology firm, is pleased to welcome three new companies to the MyOutcomes family: Centerstone, Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, and The Nord Center.

Centerstone is the largest nonprofit, comprehensive, community-based mental health center in the United States. The Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board has been the primary support and advocate for addiction and mental health services in Delaware and Morrow Counties for over 40 years. Since its founding in 1947, The Nord Center has served more than 6,000 clients, providing 24-hour, comprehensive behavioral health care to the residents of Lorain County, Ohio.

“To us, engaging the client is most important, and MyOutcomes facilitates that. Overall, the decision to go with the MyOutcomes platform was based on their coherent training and consultation packages, immediate feedback messages, and possessing the right kind of tools desired when implementing an outcomes-informed approach,” explained Matt Oliver, Regional Director of Clinic Services at Centerstone.

MyOutcomes is a consumer-driven outcomes management system for behavioral health that improves efficiency and outcomes by promoting partnership between providers and consumers. Used worldwide, MyOutcomes provides a feasible and scalable tool to facilitate the provision of client-directed, outcome-informed services. MyOutcomes invites client feedback using two 4-item visual analogue scales. The Outcome Ratings Scale (ORS) measures clients’ perception of whether they are benefiting from services. The Session Rating Scale (SRS) measures the strength of the alliance between provider and client. Although easy to complete in less than 2 minutes, administration of the ORS and SRS using MyOutcomes generates outcomes reporting at all levels of an organization, identifies cases at risk for service failure, and provides empirically based feedback messages to improve outcomes. The reliability and validity of the ORS and SRS have been demonstrated in published, peer-reviewed research.

Herbal Powers, Inc. launches new fertility product for men called FertileChoice for Men, scientifically shown to improve sperm health and motility

Herbal Powers, Inc. launches new fertility product for men called FertileChoice for Men, scientifically shown to improve sperm health and motility.

Herbal Powers announces the official launch of FertileChoice. The result of 20 years of research in menÂ’s sexual health, this male fertility product uses the science underlying LJ100 and makes it available for a serious and recently common problem.

(PRWEB) June 13, 2003

One in six couples in the United States are experiencing infertility issues. In only about 30% of cases is the cause solely due to Female Factor Infertility. This means, in the majority of cases, male infertility plays some role.

Infertility in men can be due to a number of environmental and societal changes. Poor diet, increased exposure to EMS, and lack of exercise can all lead to the decreased sperm count, quality and motility associated with Male Factor Infertility. Moreover, recent studies have eliminated prior notions that male fertility is eternal. In fact, male fertility and sperm count begin to decline significantly during middle-age, in line with a decrease in Gonadal hormones.

FERTILECHOICETM offers a solution by addressing the major changes happening in the body as a function of these societal, environmental, and age-related changes.

First, as a rich source of Super-Oxide Dismutase, FERTILECHOICETM acts as powerful antioxidant decreasing damage done to sperm DNA due to free radicals.

Second, as a powerful androgen booster, FERTILECHOICETM increases spermatogenesis and metabolism, thereby increasing sperm motility and over time, quality and count.

“Even though Androgens are primarily responsible for male sexual development, sperm formation, and reproductive health, few fertility supplements incorporate safe and natural testosterone boosters in their products, “ says President Annie Eng. “Antioxidants are helpful to overall health, but we’re talking about reproductive health here. With testosterone levels down world-wide by about 50% since 1950’s and couples putting off having children until their late 30’s, it’s no wonder that so many men are having fertility issues.”

Androgen levels begin to drop from 100% during 25 to 20% in senior citizens. The grumpiness, weight gain, lack of sex drive and lack of energy associated with this drop are symptomatic of a condition called Andropause. While all men will go through Andropause, it is rarely diagnosed, primarily because the hormonal decline is not as precipitous as in Menopause.

FERTILECHOICETM is available at specialist websites such as www. conceivingconcepts. com, which provides support and information for couples experiencing the difficulties of infertility. You can also order FERTILECHOICETM direct from Herbal Powers, Inc.

For further information or interviews, contact Herbal Powers at 312.850.1288 or herbalpowers@ameritech. net.
