NOVACES Announces Award for Continuous Process Improvement and Lean Six Sigma Services for Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia

The management consulting firm was awarded a firm fixed price contract for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) support to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) under an existing Blanket Purchase Agreement for Lean Six Sigma / CPI Support.

New Orleans, LA (Vocus/PRWEB) January 11, 2011

NOVACES, a leading management consulting firm for performance improvement and continuous process improvement in the public sector, announced today that it has been awarded today a firm fixed price contract for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) support to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Headquarters under an existing Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for Lean Six Sigma / CPI Support. This new work is to be carried out with DLA Troop Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

NOVACES will leverage its experience delivering process improvements, cost savings, and increased efficiencies for the federal government and military. A leader in CPI consulting and training services, the award reflects the company's scope of work for the U. S. Department of Defense, which includes contracts for CPI deployment, curriculum development, mentoring and training for naval shipbuilding, naval aviation logistics, healthcare delivery, missile defense, and garrison services.

The process improvement work at DLA Troop Support in Philadelphia is to be carried out at an opportune time, as Defense Secretary Gates has recently announced a plan to slash overhead and increase efficiencies across the Department of Defense. According to his recent announcement, Gates plans to redirect $100 billion in overhead spending over the next five years into higher-priority warfighting needs and modernization programs.

"We are pleased to be a part of the DLA CPI/LSS team. The tools and methodologies deployed by DLA have set the standard for CPI deployments in the DoD," said Tommy Houston, vice president of public sector services for NOVACES.

In addition to training Black Belts, Green Belts and Champions, the BPA involves opportunities to provide best practice guidance, recommendations for updates to the training curriculum, mentoring of new practitioners and project coaching. The BPA also allows for some conduct of specific CPI deployment activities, such as Value Stream Mapping and Analysis, Rapid Improvement Events, and just-in-time training.

Government, Environment, and Construction Help Grow Outdoor Lighting Market to $3.8 Billion by 2010

Government, Environment, and Construction Help Grow Outdoor Lighting Market to $3.8 Billion by 2010

Improved lighting on streets and highways, the countrywide awakening to the negative effects of light pollution, and strong growth in construction—particularly “main street” housing communities.

New York (PRWEB) April 27, 2006

Improved lighting on streets and highways, the countrywide awakening to the negative effects of light pollution, and strong growth in construction—particularly “main street” housing communities—are all contributing to strong growth in the outdoor lighting market, which is expected to reach $3.8 billion by 2010, according to Outdoor Lighting in the U. S., a new report from market research publisher Specialists in Business Information (SBI), a division of MarketResearch. com.

State and local construction spending in the outdoor infrastructure market grew by 9.3% from 2004 to 2005 positively impacting the outdoor lighting market, which itself grew by 6.5% from $2.8 billion in 2004 to $2.9 billion in 2005. SBI projects continued governmental improvement, energy saving, and environmental initiatives will open up new opportunities in the outdoor lighting market and help to drive market growth by 5.3% from 2006 to 2010.

Light pollution, a growing environmental concern, is also factoring heavily into industry growth. Sky glow, energy waste, and visibility issues are impacting the quality of life of both humans and wildlife. Among health issues are the disease causing potential of light and disturbances of human circadian rhythms and animal breeding cycles. These and other hazards of lighting, however, are having a positive effect on emerging light technologies.

“Community awareness, including government and manufacturers, is creating an environment of growth, as seen by the positive upswing in LED usage, particularly in traffic signals,” notes Cara Morrison, Associate Editor at SBI. “Other technologies, such as Lumen IQ, which marries outdoor lighting with remote control through the Internet, are leading the way towards increased energy efficiency with reduced light pollution.”

Containing comprehensive data on U. S. shipments, imports and exports, end-use markets, purchaser demographics, and the competitive environment, Outdoor Lighting in the U. S., part of a three-part series including residential and commercial lighting, identifies key issues, regulations, and trends affecting the marketplace, and profiles major manufacturer and retailer strategies. Priced at $1,995, this report is available from SBI by clicking: http://www. sbireports. com/product/display. asp? productid=1272010 (http://www. sbireports. com/product/display. asp? productid=1272010). Global Industrial and Specialty Gases Market to Reach 8,958 Billion Cubic Feet by 2010, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc

Global Industrial and Specialty Gases Market to Reach 8,958 Billion Cubic Feet by 2010, According to New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

Driven by growing demand for hydrogen and oxygen, the world industrial and specialty gases market is projected to reach 8,958 billion cubic feet by the year 2010. The industry is largely unaffected by industrial cycles owing to its characteristic long-term contracts, and thus reflects stable opportunities, without any radical changes.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) April 23, 2008

Emerging applications of industrial & specialty gases such as high tech industries are expected to offer higher growth opportunities than conventional end-use industries such as chemical and metal processing industries. Non-conventional end-use industries require sophisticated supplies, which translate into higher margins. Healthcare and environmental remediation applications are also expected to offer high growth opportunities for industrial & specialty gases. Powered by emerging applications, world hydrogen market (http://www. strategyr. com/Industrial_And_Specialty_Gases_Market_Report. asp) is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 5.24% over the years 2011 through 2015.

As stated by Global Industry Analysts Inc., the market for Argon (http://www. strategyr. com/Industrial_And_Specialty_Gases_Market_Report. asp) in Asia-Pacific is forecast to reach 8.22 billion cubic feet by the year 2012. Oxygen market (http://www. strategyr. com/Industrial_And_Specialty_Gases_Market_Report. asp) in Europe is projected to exceed 1,147 billion cubic feet by the year 2015. The market for industrial & specialty gases is commoditized and price is the major competitive differentiator. However, opportunities exist for companies with well-established R&D to garner share in new and emerging applications. Specialty gases, which generally find applications in niche segments, offer high margins for companies that can provide the right product mix. Industrial and specialty gases are distributed to markets through cylinders, bulk shipments, and pipeline/tonnage. Cylinders represent the most prominent means of distribution.

Pricing is one of the major issues in the industrial & specialty gases market. Even though the industrial & specialty gases market is oligopolistic in nature, pricing pressures dent the profitability of the players. Pricing is determined by a host of factors, some of which include distribution terms and the duration of the contract, and energy costs involved in both manufacture and distribution. Most of the production is localized to avoid high transportation costs and the competitive bidding for new contracts dents the profit margins for players, especially in the early years of the contract. However, high capital costs, long-term contracts, and strict regulations act as barriers to entry for new players.

Key players dominating the global industrial and specialty gases market include Air Liquide, American Air Liquide Holdings Inc., Air Products and Chemicals Inc, Airgas Inc, Praxair Inc, Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation, and The Linde Group.

The report titled "Industrial and Specialty Gases: A Global Strategic Business Report" published by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., provides a comprehensive review of market trends, industry overview, competitive scenario, key markets, end-use industries, product overview, pricing, modes of delivery, production process, product introductions/innovations, and recent industry activity. The study also analyzes market data and analytics in volume sales for regions such as United States, Canada, Japan, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Latin America by the following product segments - Acetylene, Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Others.

New Business Analyst Curriculum & Skills Assessment Announced By Advanced Concepts Center

New Business Analyst Curriculum & Skills Assessment Announced By Advanced Concepts Center

Advanced Concepts Center (ACC), a learning and knowledge transfer solutions company focused on enabling business, management and information technology professionals announced the rollout of their new Business Analyst (BA) curriculum and BA Skills Assessment.

Roswell, GA (PRWEB) May 23, 2006

Advanced Concepts Center (ACC), a learning and knowledge transfer solutions company focused on enabling business, management and information technology professionals announced the rollout of their new Business Analyst (BA) curriculum and BA Skills Assessment.

“ACC has offered a BA curriculum for the past 16 years, but with the emergence of the BA Body of Knowledge (BABOK) from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), the ACC invested in updating our curriculum to align it with the BABOK”, said Carol Miller, VP Professional Services & Curriculum. “The ACC understands our clients require a “solutions” focus to solve their business challenges, which is why our services include our Requirements Management Framework Processes and Templates, as well as a BA Skills Assessment that includes 250 BA skills that we developed for our client base to utilize.”

The Business Analyst is charged with identifying company needs to determine the solutions for those requirements. Their responsibility lies in validating and analyzing current organizational and operational business processes and requirements. The BA role is taking on greater importance as corporations are pressured to improve processes and deliver projects and services on time and within budget. ACC’s BA curriculum and supplemental services will enable BA’s, as well as their colleagues, to better understand their roles, responsibilities, industry best practices, essential tools, techniques, and templates that are necessary to successfully complete requirements and projects in alignment with corporate strategy.

“It is the Business Analyst position that is bridging the gap between the IT and business sides of the organization. The skills needed for this position are our top priority for investment” states David Bieg, ACC Managing Partner. “The ACC consults with our clients to deliver these types of in-demand learning solutions that directly impact their business performance. We offer learning solutions by collaborating with our clients to include components that are relevant to their enterprise. For example, a Skills Gap Assessment Tool and a strategy for driving change throughout the organization using ACC mentors are common parts of the solution.”

One of ACC’s Fortune 100 customers commented, “I wanted to compliment ACC on the high quality courseware we've seen on the Requirements Gathering Techniques Workshop course that Carol and team had redesigned. The student guide is one of the best I've ever seen! I particularly like the way the content is embedded in the document while not taking it over. The case study is also very focused, a good example, and the right length. I believe our students will be thrilled with the results. I can't wait to deliver this pilot class and look at another one of the refreshed courses on the BA learning path. Thank you for being such a great partner vendor. You are awesome and I am glad our companies found each other!”

A sample of ACC’s core BA training program consists of courses covering essential business analyst skills, requirements planning & management, gathering techniques, a use case workshop, testing, and business modeling and process improvement using BPMN. The complete ACC curriculum includes a foundational course, seven core courses, eleven electives as well as specific tool courses. ACC offers students a certificate of completion and the BA curriculum will also support the IIBA certification requirements upon their availability. ACC’s comprehensive BA curriculum is providing critical skills for Fortune 500 clients including corporations from the Financial Services, Hospitality & Entertainment, Defense, Government and Healthcare verticals. Reducing Risk of Catastrophic Football Injuries is Subject of DVD Distributed to High Schools Across the Nation

Reducing Risk of Catastrophic Football Injuries is Subject of DVD Distributed to High Schools Across the Nation

Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and the National Athletic TrainersÂ’ Association (NATA) join forces in the wake of national concern to prevent head and neck injuries in young athletes.

Pensacola, FL (Vocus) September 6, 2007

With football season underway, the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (http://www. theandrewsinstitute. com) in Pensacola, Fla., has funded the distribution of a 14-minute video, “Heads Up -- Reducing the Risk of Head and Neck Injuries in Football.” (http://www. theandrewsinstitute. com/headsup) Produced by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the DVD communicates how athletes should play safe to avoid concussions, neck sprains and catastrophic injuries such as paralysis and quadriplegia. Nearly every high school in the nation, including football coaches and athletic directors, has received copies to share with their athletes prior to the start of the active football season.

“I have witnessed on a first-hand basis the results of improper tackling techniques,” says Dr. James Andrews (http://www. theandrewsinstitute. com), medical director of the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and renowned orthopaedic surgeon. “All it takes is one incident to end a football career and have medical issues for the rest of your life. Simple adjustments to tackling techniques is all it takes to prevent such devastating injuries. We want to prevent any kind of head and neck injury in young athletes because the effects will be seen for many years to come. This a major concern for professional football as well.”

“We need players, coaches and parents to be aware of the dangers of head-down contact and spearing, which can cause cervical spine and head injuries or even death,” said Ron Courson, director of sports medicine, University of Georgia. “Each time a player initiates contact with his head down, he risks quadriplegia. Each time a player initiates contact head first, he increases the risk of concussion.”

Participants in the video include Tony Dungy, head football coach, Indianapolis Colts; Jerry Punch, MD, college football commentator for ABC Sports and ESPN; Grant Teaff, executive director, American Football Coaches Association, Ron Courson, ATC, PT, director of sports medicine, University of Georgia and chairman of NATAÂ’s College/University Athletic TrainersÂ’ Committee; Jonathan Heck, MS, ATC, coordinator of athletic training, Richard Stockton College of New Jersey; and noted physicians Robert Cantu, MD, FACSM and Joseph Torg, MD.

The DVD emphasizes correct techniques when initiating contact with an opponent. “The best way is to keep your head up, see what you hit and hit with your shoulder,” says Tony Dungy, head coach for the Indianapolis Colts. “It really doesn’t matter what position you play or where you are on the field. The object of the collisions is to deliver a blow and come out of it in great shape.”

The DVD was developed to educate players following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) updated rules on head-first contact (sometimes referred to as spearing), which were recently introduced.

The NCAA rule states: No player shall use his helmet (including the face mask) to butt or ram an opponent or attempt to punish him. No player shall strike a runner with the crown or the top of his helmet in an attempt to punish him. The NFHS removed the word “intentional” from its spearing rule.

“The new rule was a very important signal sent out across the world of football that we are now making sure you understand that you tackle with your eyes, so you’re able to see who you are attacking or what you’re tackling,” says Grant Teaff, executive director of the American Football Coaches Association.

To communicate the urgency and importance of this vital issue, the Andrews Institute encourages all athletic trainers, coaches and officials to obtain the video and share it with their athletes. Copies can be distributed to share with youth, high school and collegiate teams, as well as representatives of major youth sports organizations. Additional information and a link to the video is available at http://www. theandrewsinstitute. com/headsup (http://www. theandrewsinstitute. com/headsup), where it may be accessed for free.

Wealthandluxury. com -- the Website that Opens the Door to the Luxury Lifestyle

Wealthandluxury. com -- the Website that Opens the Door to the Luxury Lifestyle

Why scout all over the internet to find the best the world has to offer when you can go to one website which offers it all.

Melbourne, VIC (PRWEB) August 12, 2007

Why scout all over the internet to find the best the world has to offer when you can go to one website which offers it all.

More people are getting rich and fortunes are soaring to unprecedented levels. We can see it with the explosion of the new ultra rich in China and Russia. This is also true in Australia. The average net worth of a member from the BRW Rich 200 list for 2007 was AUS$688 million. Most fortunes rose by 25 per cent and nine new billionaires were added to the prestigious list.

There has never been a greater demand for the luxury life than today and http://www. wealthandluxury. com (http://www. wealthandluxury. com) is a luxury portal dedicated to the luxury lifestyle. It is for the person seeking to find information on the best the world has to offer from luxury cars to private clubs, five star hotels, mega yachts, private planes and much, much more...

Why go to many different websites to look up a favourite car maker, luxury hotel or yacht company. No need to bookmark many different sites. Just bookmark one site and come back to it time and again to pour over all the information that is available at one stop.

There are many varied categories on the site not only about material possessions but also spiritual matters.

To live a true luxury lifestyle, an all round healthy life people need to include their souls. The old Bible passage, "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" has never been more true and more appropriate than in today's day and age.

The wealthy today are more charity conscious. Not because they have to be but because they want to be. So on the website people will find categories on Charity which includes volunteering opportunities and Personal Development.

How many times have people gone shopping on a site and become over excited with their selection only to be bitterly disappointed when they go to the checkout to find that they do not deliver to their country. Well no more. Each store has information about it and tells the consumer what countries they deliver to as well as the customer service received. So consumers will always be in safe hands.

There are resources for men's fashion and grooming, women's fashion and business and news sources which happens to be a favourite of web surfers to the site.

So for an all round website that includes all categories to do with living a true luxury lifestyle (with more categories to come) that includes the best the world has to offer than this is it.

TrueVenus™ Introduces A Sleek, Portable New Energy Saving LED Nail Curing Lamp

TrueVenus™ Introduces A Sleek, Portable New Energy Saving LED Nail Curing Lamp

New LED Nail Curing Lamp by TRUEVENUS. No more down business time, or replacing mercury bulbs. Powerful and unique design, with new patented technology. Save time, increase productivity and help to keep the environment clean.

Essex, MA (PRWEB) July 24, 2010

TRUEVENUS™ (Truevenus. com (http://www. truevenus. com)) with a slogan, Our Tools. Your Art, has announced the launch of its new energy saving LED Nail Curing Lamp, Muse, for nail professionals and home nail care users. The Led curing lamp has been specially designed and introduced for curing gel nail products in seconds and without harm to health.

The Led nail curing lamp is a new invention of long life energy efficient light source that has a long operating life of 20,000 to 35,000 working hours which means they would never need a replacement for long when compared to the number of glass bulbs that would have to be replaced over 4 years. The lamp costs $399.99 and is an ideal choice for long term use saving you big money that would be spent on down business time and replacing bulbs in normal UV lamps.

The Led light is free of toxic substances and is not only safe for use on the nails, but also safe for the environment. The use of UV glass bulbs containing mercury can be quite harmful when disposed off unlike the led technology which is environment friendly. The mercury lamps contain a high dosage of UV rays that can cause skin cell damage while the Led light can help you avoid the damage of skin cancer on the hands as it is near to the visible light like the normal sun light.

The UVA output in this led nail lamp does not fade over time as seen with glass bulbs. This causes less risk of under-curing and also overexposure. The Led lamp also saves the energy and cost to run it. It does not produce heat, and therefore prevents the skin from wrinkling and getting dark.

The Led lamp is exclusively manufactured and distributed by Truevenus. com (http://www. truevenus. com) and is sleek, portable and compact and has a tough exterior that cannot be easily broken. The Led nail lamp is easy to operate and is cold on the exterior making it very safe during use as there are no chances of the hand getting burnt. The unique feature of ‘cool to the touch’ makes it a preferred choice for most nail care professionals and for home nail care use.

The innovative Led nail curing lamp launched by the company has a quick dry time, curing LED gels within 5-30 seconds and regular nail gel within 30 – 90 seconds which can save a lot of time. The curing time of this Led lamp is about 8 times less than mercury lamps making your work more efficient and faster. The lamp uses UV rays as the main light source which can instantly dry the gel nails without causing any harm to human health.

The new Led lamp works the best with gels from Gel-nails. com, one of the first resellers of this new patented led lamp. It also works with most of the UV gels brands including IBD, Christrio, Balance, Akzentz, Bio sculpture, etc. The company is offering this lamp with a 1 year warranty for any malfunctioning and one can also choose an extended warranty on the product.

Based in the US, TrueVenus™ is a manufacturer and distributor of high quality UV gel nails and LED gel nail products. Truevenus. com (http://www. truevenus. com) specializes in gel nail products, supplying large collection of top quality nail gels and supplemental products to nail professionals and nail salons. 2010 Life is Good Festival Spreads the Power of Optimism

2010 Life is Good Festival Spreads the Power of Optimism

More than 25,000 People Enjoy a New Concept in Event Entertainment and Raise Over $600,000 for Kids Facing Life-Threatening Challenges.

West Newton, MA (PRWEB) September 22, 2010

“The Life is good Festival didn’t just deliver a new marquee event to the music scene last weekend, it introduced a whole new entertainment concept: a family event that wasn’t painfully wimpy, folded into a contemporary concert that wouldn’t make parents cringe in front of their children.”
--Scott Mclennan, Boston Globe

September 21, 2010 Boston, MA – Over 25,000 festival-goers of all ages attended the 2010 Life is good Festival at Blue Hills on September 11-12, 2010, embracing a new event concept that blurred traditional lines, blending and harmonizing the worlds of the traditional outdoor rock festival, family-friendly entertainment, and charitable fundraising. A wide variety of attending media proclaimed the festival a new and unique entertainment event with both wide and deep appeal.

The festival was presented by Life is good, a Boston-based company that spreads good vibes through its colorful collection of apparel and accessories, and Superfly Presents, acclaimed producers of the iconic Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Outside Lands. The goal of the event was to raise funds for the Life is good Kids Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to helping children overcome life-threatening challenges such as violence, illness and extreme poverty.

“We were thrilled to see music fans and young families come together like a giant backyard party. We all had a blast, and attendees should be very proud of what they did. They raised a lot of awareness and much-needed funds to help kids overcome life-threatening challenges such as poverty, violence, and physical illness. For that we are extremely grateful,” said Bert Jacobs, Life is good co-founder and chief executive optimist. “Optimism is fun and healthy, but this weekend I think we showed it can be powerful too.”

The 2010 Life is good Festival was situated at the historic and picturesque Prowse Farm, located at the foot of the Blue Hills in Canton, Mass., a suburb of Boston. The festival featured three stages, with one devoted to the best performers in Kindie Rock, including the Laurie Berkner Band, Dane Zanes & Friends, They Might Be Giants and more.

On the main stages, national headline acts such as Jason Mraz, Ben Harper and Relentless 7, Corinne Bailey Rae, Trombone Shorty, Galactic, Guster and many others rocked the event with messages of harmony and optimism, while the crowd danced and sang along. For those unable to attend, Chase Freedom presented a webcast of the performances live on the Chase Freedom and Life is good Facebook pages. Archived clips are available at www. facebook. com/ChaseFreedom (http://www. facebook. com/ChaseFreedom) and www. facebook. com/lifeisgood (http://www. facebook. com/lifeisgood).

“When we began planning the event with Life is good, we all wanted to create a truly unique festival where kids and adults, families and singles could come together around great music,” said Rick Farman, co-founder of Superfly Presents. “It could not have worked better for everyone. The Life is good Festival blurred traditional lines and created a fresh, new kind of all-ages event that we will now build on in the coming years.”

Life is good donated 100% of its profits from ticket sales, sponsors, and onsite apparel and merchandise sales to the Life is good Kids Foundation. More than $600,000 was raised to support the work of the foundation, including its Playmakers initiative which provides training, resources and support to the adults dedicated to caring for our most vulnerable children so that all involved lead healthier, more joyful lives.

While most festivals have their fair share of VIPs who enjoy special privileges, the 2010 Life is good Festival only had VGPs -- Very Good People. Several hundred attendees opted to raise individual funds for the foundation in exchange for exclusive hospitality, preferred viewing, artist meet and greets and other prizes.

Through its nationally known festivals, Life is good has raised over $4 million for children in need since 2003. Online Study Guide for Certified Nursing Assistants

Online Study Guide for Certified Nursing Assistants

Student Nursing Assistants looking to pass the Thompson Prometric CNA test have a new tool, the Online Certified Nursing Assistant Training Course from Phelbotomy Career Training

Dearborn Heights, MI (PRWEB) November 1, 2010

Student Nursing Assistants looking to pass the Thompson Prometric CNA test have a new tool, the Online Certified Nursing Assistant Training Course from Phelbotomy Career Training.

Phlebotomy Career Training has announced a new online study guide and tutorials for C. N.A. students. Phlebotomy Career Training is pleased to announce the new online Certified Nursing Assistant training course. This course contains all the information that graduate or student C. N.A.’s need to help them in their training. Use of a book as a course guide reference helps only to a certain degree. The actual Thompson Prometric CNA Test is entirely online, so it makes all the sense in the world to offer student C. N.A’s a similar training environment.

Nancy Kimmel, the president of Phlebotomy Career Training gives the following two scenarios:
"Janet is a recent graduate of a regular classroom type nurse aide program. She has paid over $2000 in tuition fees. She also had to pay Thompson Prometric $175 for testing. She is very nervous going into her exam. Not knowing what clinical skills will be asked of her makes her even more nervous. She has a book to study, but the information she keeps reading is the same. Two hours later. Janet gets the news, that she didn’t pass one of her three skills and therefore cannot take the computerized test. She is devastated. The money for school she had to borrow. Now she cannot work, and has to wait to take the test again. She must also pay another fee. What now?”

"Mary is a recent graduate of a C. N.A. Program. She is very uncomfortable with computers. She has never taken an online test. Mary was able to pass her three clinical skills, but failed the Thompson Prometric. What now?”

"Both scenarios could have ended differently if both Mary and Janet had access to the online study tutorials for Certified Nursing Assistants from Phlebotomy Career Training," said Nancy Kimmel.

Why choose the Phlebotomy Career Training program? Phlebotomy Career Training is a licensed proprietary school within the state of Michigan. The school, Phlebotomy Career Training, has been approved by the Michigan W. O.R. K.S agency and the J. E.T. Program, a division of health and human services and it has some of the most qualified staff in the state of Michigan training our CENA’s. In addition, their Certified Nurse Aide course meets all of the Michigan guidelines and is accredited by the Department of Community Health Department in Lansing. Professor Kimmel holds a PhD and a Registered Nurse License. She has developed many tutorials and software to help nursing students pass the Nursing Entrance Test. Her online programs for nursing tutorials are approved by Henry Ford Community College and her book, Pass The N. E.T., The First Time, is also for sale at Henry Ford Community College and Wayne County Community College book stores

The wealth of information on nurse aide practice skills available online to students, will help them excel in their clinical and lab skills. The online tutorial for nursing assistants contains many tests, quizzes, videos, interesting articles and much more. Students are offered tests that are designed closely to the Thompson Prometric. Students can view videos on isolation procedures, diabetes and therapeutic communication and all the twenty one clinical skills required by the Thompson Prometric CNA test.

The material is presented in an easy to read format. The student will be improving their skills by using the online program without realizing the amount of information that they are retaining. This is the integrated learning process that Professor Nancy Kimmel invented and patented. An ardent and long time educator, professor Nancy Kimmel has dedicated all of her resources and teaching ability to help develop the online tutorials.

All of the CENA’s that professor Kimmel trains at their location in Michigan are offered the same online C. N.A. training course as the tutorial and study guide for the test, the regular classroom CNA courses are offered to students for $600. However, Professor Kimmel understands that there are many aspiring CENA and nurse aides enrolled already in other schools that would like to be able to use an online guide that is easy to read and will help with the Thompson Prometric. Therefore, professor Kimmel has given the nation access to the online certified nurse’s aide study guide for $49.99

The certified nurse aide online study guide has more interactive and pertinent information that the student can use and demonstrate in their clinical rotation than any other online tutorial. This new online course helps C. N.A’s understand the skills that they will have to perform and the videos help them to see how each skill is done.

Professor Nancy Kimmel offers numerous online courses and tutorials to help aspiring medical professionals pass their tests successfully the first time in the classroom as well as online, including: Advanced Phlebotomy Technician Certification Online, Hazardous Materials Handler Online Course, EKG/Telemetry Technician Online Course, Pass The N. E.T. Reading Comprehension Pass The N. E.T. Math Review, Pass the NET - Nursing Entrance Test Study Guide, and now the online Certified Nursing Assistant training course.

Richmond, VA (PRWEB) September 13, 2006

NorthStar Community, a Christ-centered recovery ministry in Richmond, Virginia is helping local recovery groups celebrate outreach and support programs as part of Recovery Month. This year’s theme - “Join the Voices for Recovery: Build a Stronger, Healthier Community” mirrors the NorthStar emphasis on the strength of community relationships and the healing of families in the recovery process. These events are hosted by the Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance (SAARA) and the McShin Foundation.

NorthStar Community will participate in the Recovery Month Health Fair to promote awareness of addiction, treatment and recovery. The event will be held on September 12th from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at The Marquee, 3015 Cutshaw Ave., Richmond, and will feature nationally known comedian Mark Loundholm.

On Saturday, September 16th NorthStar will also participate in RecoveryFest, a musical celebration featuring The Wendy Place Project, King Solomon’s Marbles, Johnny and the Low-Downs and Back in the Day. The American Civil War Center in Historic Tredegar will be the site for this festive evening of music, art and information about recovery and treatment. Music begins at 5:00 p. m.

Both events are open to the public.

About NorthStar Community: NorthStar Community is for anyone who wants to explore new ways of dealing with the pain of living in a complicated world. It is for people seeking guidance in mending broken relationships, broken families, broken promises, and broken dreams. As part of our NorthStar Community ministry, Christ-centered support groups are available to help individuals to succeed at recovery from addictions, codependency, and other life struggles. NorthStar Community broadcasts weekly at 11:30AM on CBS-TV 6, Richmond to a regional audience. The Sunday gathering is held at Bon Air Elementary School, 8701 Polk Street, Richmond at 10:30AM. Numerous support groups and outreach efforts are conducted during the week.

About Recovery Month: Throughout September, events nationwide encourage communities, civic leaders, labor organizations, treatment and prevention organizations, community and faith-based organizations, and the recovery community to address their community’s need for treatment, overcome the barriers that prevent people from seeking help, and ensure access to local treatment facilities. In 2004, 3.8 million people aged 12 or older received some kind of treatment for substance use disorder. Participating in recovery programs for substance use disorders is as effective as receiving treatment for other chronic conditions – yet 21.15 million people needed but did not receive treatment in 2004.

Healthcare Premiums to Cost $14,545 This Year

Healthcare Premiums to Cost $14,545 This Year

Escalating healthcare costs damage business by decreasing investment in research, plant and equipment, by depressing wages, and by limiting the ability to make new hires. Premium HealthCare Services has assembled a team of experts to help control costs.

Naperville, IL (PRWEB) January 5, 2006

Healthcare costs are projected to increase at double digit rates annually. Employer sponsored family healthcare premiums are expected to cost $14,545 on average this year (2006) according to the National Coalition on Healthcare. These rapidly escalating costs damage business by decreasing investment in research, plant and equipment, by depressing wages, and by limiting the ability to make new hires. They make it increasingly difficult to compete in a global marketplace.

Premium HealthCare Services is pleased to announce the 2006 launch of its new Health Care Cost Containment Service. PHS believes it is critical for businesses to gain control of their health care costs, and has assembled a team of experts with decades of expertise in healthcare from both the medical and insurance industry perspectives.

According to Dr Mark Friedman, President and CEO, “PHS retains specialists in every field of medicine and has access to the most knowledgeable medical insurance professionals. We understand that managing the cost of healthcare is not just about managing the cost, or even managing the care. Ultimately it is about managing the health of a company’s most valuable resource, its employees.”

Mark L. Friedman MD FACP FACEP is a board certified internist and emergency physician. He has practiced medicine for over 20 years and was formerly CEO of National Medical Claims Analysts and then VP at Concentra Managed Care. Currently he is Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois, Adjunct Professor of Public Health at Benedictine University and CEO of Premium HealthCare Services.

Franchise Prospector. com, unlike similar Websites, offers a unique combination of free and objective franchising articles written by business experts, plus affordable advertising that directly reaches people who are interested in and actively seeking franchising information and opportunities.

"We're developing the most comprehensive source of information about franchising - from self-evaluation, researching franchise opportunities and getting financing to staying on top of the latest trends, says the publication's Editor in Chief and CEO.

Franchise Prospector. com is an online "franchise business journal" that provides convenient access to information. The site offers interesting articles and useful guides aimed at helping prospective franchisees gain valuable insight about franchise business opportunities. The site publishes new articles and guides monthly, to provide users with a constant and fresh source of objective franchising information.

Franchise Prospector. com also offers a comprehensive franchise directory representing 16 areas from automotive to technology businesses. Site users can search directory listings by name, category, minimum investment or alphabetical order to instantly locate opportunities that may interest them.

Currently, the directory features over 600 listings. However, the CEO anticipates that by the end of the year, the site will contain one of the largest indexes of franchise companies available online.

Businesses can advertise in the directory for as little as $29.99 a month, with no contract, set up fees, or commissions required. New Report Examines "Quick-Changeover Packaging"

New Report Examines "Quick-Changeover Packaging"

A new report from Summit Publishing Company, written by packaging industry veterans, offers package development strategies for improving speed to market.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 18, 2007

The ability to change packaging sizes and formats quickly and efficiently is becoming essential for packagers in meeting the fast-paced demands of today's consumers and retailers. Examining this imperative is a new report from Summit Publishing Company entitled Quick Changeover Packaging: Dynamics & Surging Growth Opportunities. This 135-page volume, edited by Jim George, editor-in-chief of Shelf Imact! and Contract Packaging magazine, emphasizes that the ability to get packaged products on store shelves quickly is both a driver of marketing strategies for consumer products and a cornerstone of value-added production services at packaging plants.

The authors, packaging industry veterans Brian Wagner and John Henry, introduce the term "quick-changeover packaging" (QCOP) in walking readers through this package-development strategy. They explain how product manufacturers, suppliers, and packaging operations or contract packagers can collaborate to create, integrate, and manage such a strategy in their packaging efforts.

To produce a package that works for the brand manager, operations, warehousing, retailers, and the consumer, both marketing and operations must work together. But integrating these teams, which have vastly different educational backgrounds and an "at odds" perception of their goals, is difficult. Failure is a very real possibility under "gotta have it now" pressure from consumers and retailers.

The solution, according to the authors of this new study, is a holistic package-development strategy in which all members of the package-development team understand both the external drivers of speed-to-market packaging formats and the internal "back-end" production considerations of package production.

Quick-Changeover Packaging includes the results of an exclusive survey of nearly 800 respondents--a cross-section of packaging professionals--plus dozens of product photos, charts, and illustrations that provide advice, real-world examples, and worksheets for building a QCOP model to increase speed to market. Quick-Changeover Packaging: Dynamics and Surging Growth Opportunities can be ordered at http://www. packworld. com/qc (http://www. packworld. com/qc).

Luntian Magazine Celebrates Earth Day 2009 with Luntian Awards for Weblogs, Inventors, Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Businesses

Luntian Magazine Celebrates Earth Day 2009 with Luntian Awards for Weblogs, Inventors, Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Businesses

Luntian Magazine opens Luntian Awards nominations through their Website throughout their 2-week long Earth Day 2009 celebration beginning April 22. Concluding these activities are the announcement of winners and the launch of the electronic publication, Luntian Magazine on May 6. Their team will select winners based on innovativeness, usability, and impact.

Manila, Philippines (PRWEB) April 23, 2009

Luntian Magazine opens Luntian Awards nominations for green weblogs, videos, advocates, inventors, innovators, entrepreneurs, small and big businesses through their Website: http://www. luntianmagazine. com (http://www. luntianmagazine. com) throughout their 2-week long Earth Day 2009 celebration which began April 22. Concluding these activities are the announcement of winners and the launch of Luntian Magazine on May 6. Their team will select winners based on innovativeness, usability, and impact.

"We wish to recognize like-minded people, businesses, and their work, as they take innovative and committed steps towards minimizing pollution, recycling, reforestation, wildlife protection, efficient use of power, use of renewable energy, and other activities...as we approach the launching of Luntian Magazine on May 6," says Maria Jeunessa David-Sto. Niño, Managing Editor of Luntian Magazine.

Being true to its name, ("luntian" means "green" in Tagalog) the magazine will not only present awards and bring green content for businesses and people to use, but also makes the magazine medium itself as Earth-friendly as possible by creating and distributing the publication in electronic form-in PDF that is-for free downloading.

"Based on our surveys, people still love reading through glossy magazines just as there is an increasing tech-savvy and environmentally conscious population from a wide age group who access, read and keep information in electronic form in their computers and mobile gadgets for faster retrieval, usage, sharing and collaboration," says Jeunessa.

And so Luntian Magazine merges these preferred properties by our target audience by providing green content, by employing the Web-like and user-friendly properties of a PDF document, and the appeal of a glossy magazine format. The gloss will be provided by monitor screens.

References from Luntian Magazine's articles and advertisers from the mainstream and emerging green industries alike are just a click away eliminating the trip to the magazine rack and then back to the computer, as well as removing the effort of typing keywords and Website addresses, saving time. This increases speed and work efficiency, as someone for example, do research for his building's planned installation of an air conditioning insulation, a green roof system, recycled water plumbing, or solar panels for energy efficiency and savings.

Jeunessa adds, "As a career woman, a mother, and as someone who spends a lot of time trekking mountains, I love to save on costs and run my operations efficiently at work and at home and help restore the health of my planet for my children in the process. If we were to print 6000 copies of Luntian Magazine for each of its quarterly issue composed of, let's say, a minimum of 10 paper sheets of 8.5" x 11", which is about 750 lbs of paper, we would have consumed 15 trees in a year! I'm happy that I'll be saving trees which I love to rest under especially when catching my breath trekking mountains. But if some subscribers want them in printed form, of course they can always print the magazine."

Luntian Magazine uses a simple, existing technology, just like most innovations do. It is the hope of Luntian Magazine team that through their publication, and through the Luntian Awards, that more people will be inspired to create practical green innovations with simple, existing technologies, and that more people will use them in their daily lives to positively impact our planet's future and its future inhabitants.

To submit nominations and to subscribe to the electronic magazine, visit http://www. luntianmagazine. com (http://www. luntianmagazine. com).

About:
Luntian Magazine is a green electronic magazine published quarterly focusing on Earth-friendly innovations, developments, and resources for industries, businesses, workplace, home and lifestyle.

Online credit approvals will help eliminate the credit risk on the front end of the process, and expedite approval by assuring accurate and complete patient information.

The online credit approval system is currently in beta test, and will be available to all clients and future clients within the next 60 days. This process allows response on credit approval within 5 minutes from the time submission.

Company Chairman Bill Reese said that this process has the potential of saving Hospitals and other Medical providers millions of dollars in lost revenue. Our goal is to provide up front credit scoring at the time of encounter, rather than waiting until the patient has already been discharged. By extending credit to the patient on the front end, the medical providers are assured of payment within a 30 days cycle.

IPS already has 2 Hospitals interested in the system and has plans of implementing the program in both these Hospitals no later than June 1, 2001, for their Anesthesiology, Radiology, and Pathology departments.

IPS is delivering unique financial services to the health care industry, giving healthcare providers the ability to deliver more to their customers. For more information about IPS, visit their website at www. financing4healthcare. com.

New enhancements provide greater efficiencies for practice management that will save healthcare providers time and money.

Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) March 7, 2007

AdvancedMD, the leading provider of Web-based practice management solutions for medical offices and third-party medical billing services, released AdvancedMD version 5.5 today. New enhancements provide greater efficiencies for practice management that will save healthcare providers time and money. Current customers will receive full upgrade benefits at no additional cost.

"This much anticipated release reinforces AdvancedMD's position as the #1 Web-based (http://www. advancedmd. com/why_web_native. asp) medical office solution," said Jim Pack, President & CEO of AdvancedMD Software. "Version 5.5 includes substantial upgrades and new features to AdvancedMD that our customers will find invaluable."

"The patient billing module saves me a lot of time," said Julie Yanazzo, office manager for Carol J. Thrun MD. "Bringing automated patient statements, collection letters and agency functions together as a one-step process has really sped up my billing. Besides that, I can also preview electronic patient statements and letters before they leave the system and veto them if necessary before they are submitted."

Along with the patient billing module, version 5.5 includes a new office dashboard, complete with key performance indicators that allow physicians and office managers to view office statistics daily. Other features include improved UB92 billing, an appointment wait list, the ability to have Medicare (http://www. advancedmd. com/10x/medicare-billing-software. asp) fee schedules updated automatically and new debit adjustment functionality.

"The debit adjustment enhancement has eliminated several steps in my workflow," said Ginger Rohde, Office Manager at Asthma & Lung Specialists in Dallas, TX. "I can now better handle refunds, returned check fees, per diem payments and keep my accounting as accurate as possible."

Version 5.5 provides new advantages to physician offices as well as medical billing (http://www. advancedmd. com/10x/medical-billing-software. asp) services. Billing services can benefit from the new CBO Manager that saves offices hours of time by running end of day processes on multiple office keys in one easy step, instead of having to close each office key individually. Yachting Exclusive: Yachting Industry 'Cautiously Optimistic' as Yacht Charter Bookings and Sales Continue to Improve

Yachting Exclusive: Yachting Industry 'Cautiously Optimistic' as Yacht Charter Bookings and Sales Continue to Improve

Following a bleak winter and an unseasonably cold and wet spring, the sun finally broke through in time for the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix. These two events, which traditionally herald the start of the Mediterranean yacht charter season, produced an encouragingly high number of bookings and showed that there is still a healthy appetite for yachting despite the continuing recession. The last few weeks have also seen an improvement in yacht sales leaving the industry 'cautiously optimistic' that 2010 will witness a marked improvement on the previous two years.

(PRWEB) July 15, 2010

After a slow winter period, during which the uptake of Caribbean yacht charters (http://www. fraseryachts. com/Charter/charter_destevents. aspx? Page=Charter) was particularly disappointing, bookings for the summer season have started to come in. While the overall number of bookings for luxury yacht charters (http://www. fraseryachts. com/Charter/Default. aspx) is higher than it was this time last year, the average value of the bookings have been slightly lower.

Unfortunately there are few clues as to whether or not this trend will continue for the rest of the year as yacht charter (http://www. fraseryachts. com/Charter/charter_yachtlist. aspx) clients have increasingly been making last minute bookings. This trend has increasingly encouraged brokers to offer reduced prices in order to charter their clients' yachts. Furthermore the last 12 month has seen a 15% increase in number of luxury charter yachts (http://www. fraseryachts. com/Charter/charter_yachtlist. aspx) available and this greater choice means that we are unlikely to see prices increasing until 2011 at the earliest.

The same is true of the yacht brokerage market, which despite witnessing a steady increase in the number of sales has not seen an increase in the average value of yachts for sale. As such, sales volumes during the first quarter of 2010 were much stronger than they were for the final quarter of 2010 and given that yacht sales are generally stronger during the spring and summer months there is good reason to believe that 2010 will represent a good year in terms of overall sales.

Unfortunately the news is not so good for yacht owners as an increase in the number of yachts coming onto the market has put added pressure on prices that have already been greatly reduced. Naturally this represents good news for anyone who is looking to buy a yacht. With new yachts becoming available each week, potential buyers not only have a great choice of yachts but also the knowledge that they are available at knockdown prices. It is still very much a buyer's market.

Overall the outlook for the yachting industry is looking far brighter than it was this time last year. Although the prices for luxury yacht charters have had to be reduced, the overall uptake has increased insuring that the loss in earnings, for owners and crews alike, has tended to more widespread and thus somewhat easier to absorb. Likewise, the increased number of yacht sales represents encouraging news for the industry and although it is regrettable that prices remain low, those who are desperate to sell will be relieved to learn that there are still potential buyers.

Fraser Yachts are a full service yachting company offering super yacht charter (http://www. fraseryachts. com/Charter/charter_yachtlist. aspx) and mega yacht charter (http://www. fraseryachts. com/Charter/charter_yachtlist. aspx), luxury yacht sales and construction, as well as yacht management and crew-placement services. Book Sheds Light on Pulmonary Embolism, the Possible Cause of Jesus Christ's Death

Book Sheds Light on Pulmonary Embolism, the Possible Cause of Jesus Christ's Death

Researcher Dr. Benjamin Brenner recently publicized his theory that Jesus possibly died from a pulmonary embolism. Brenner said he was publicizing the theory to raise awareness about the potentially fatal disorder. Author Lisa DuFrense agrees that more awareness should be raised about this leading cause of sudden death. Those wanting to learn more can read DuFrense's book, "Near Death at the ER Window."

(PRWEB) June 13, 2005

(PRWEB) June 13, 2005 – In a letter sent to the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, researcher Dr. Benjamin Brenner recently publicized his theory that Jesus possibly died from a pulmonary embolism. Brenner said he was publicizing the theory to increase awareness about the potentially fatal disorder. Author Lisa DuFrense agrees that more awareness should be raised about this leading cause of sudden death. Those wanting to learn more can read DuFrense's book, "Near Death at the ER Window."

"People are not aware of it, both in the public and in medical practice," Brenner told the Associated Press. He further elaborated that 80 percent of pulmonary embolisms are diagnosed only in autopsies.

DuFrense knows about pulmonary embolism from first-hand experience. She is a survivor. “It is more common and more fatal than most people think. However, I cannot comment on the likelihood of Jesus' death being attributed to this. I am not a physician,” she says.

DuFrense, a hospital dietitian, was at the right place at the right time when she collapsed at the ER window. Otherwise, she would not have survived. The first words she remembers after her collapse were:

“Get the stretcher out here!”

“On the count of three; get her up.”

“Get blood gasses STAT.”

“Give her the oxygen tank.”`

“I only had minutes to live. Even though I was a health care worker, I didn't know how fatal this could be,” she recalls. Lisa was misdiagnosed by physicians for three months prior to her collapse.

Pulmonary embolism is the third leading cause of death in the United States. And, it is the leading cause of sudden death, killing more than 200,000 people in the U. S. annually. “This number could be drastically reduced by knowing risk factors, signs and symptoms of pulmonary embolism,” DuFrense says.

Trupanion Celebrates Pet Insurance During National Pet Health Insurance Month

Trupanion Celebrates Pet Insurance During National Pet Health Insurance Month

Pet insurance company Trupanion celebrates National Pet Health Insurance Month by taking a look back.

Seattle, WA (Vocus) September 7, 2010

September is National Pet Health Insurance Month and Trupanion, North America’s fastest growing pet insurance company, is celebrating by taking a look at the most expensive and interesting pet health insurance claims in the past twelve months.

Most Expensive Claims

Rampage, a Cane Corso dog received treatment for bilateral shoulder osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), a condition in which the cartilage becomes detached from the bones at joint locations. The pet insurance claim amount was $4,860.01. Trupanion repaid $4,176.94.

Rufus the Pug needed treatment for esophageal stricture. This condition occurs when the esophagus narrows and the animal has difficulty swallowing. Symptoms may also include lack of appetite, weight loss, wheezing sounds, excessive drooling, regurgitation, and crying while trying to swallow. Pet insurance claim amount totaled $14,175.22. Trupanion repaid $12,533.31.

But Georgie takes the cake. Georgie, a young Labradoodle waged a battle with liver disease and jejunal intussusceptions. Treatment for these conditions included monitoring, medications, IV fluids, anesthesia and surgery. The total pet insurance claim amount equaled $17,404.15. After the deductible, exam fees, and 10% co-pay, Trupanion repaid $15,129.67.

Most Bizarre Claims

Princess, a Cocker Spaniel, had an unfortunate run-in with a rattlesnake. The poor girl was very disoriented, panting rapidly, and on the verge of paralysis when admitted to the veterinary hospital. She went into critical care and needed various fluids, medications, and blood work. The total pet insurance claim amount was $9,234.15. Trupanion paid $8,224.80.

Two similar claims came in the same week for the same policyholder. The family owns two Golden Retrievers that are over 7 years old. Both dogs tore their ACLs and needed surgery in the same week.
Clementine tore her left cranial cruciate ligament and Winston tore his right cranial cruciate ligament. The total amount for both claims equaled $8,319.92. Trupanion repaid $7,280.92.

Sniper, a Miniature Schnauzer, found his way to some chicken bones and got pieces stuck in his esophagus, requiring emergency surgery. The total pet insurance claim amount was $6,825.16. Trupanion paid $5,558.54.

“As we look back over this year, we really feel proud of the benefits we have provided to our policyholders,” said Darryl Rawlings, Chief Executive Officer at Trupanion. “For every one of the expensive or bizarre claims we receive, we pay out hundreds of claims for everyday accidents and illnesses we all know can occur. It’s a good feeling to know that we have helped so many pets.”

National Pet Health Insurance Month has also inspired The North American Pet Health Insurance Association, of which Trupanion is a founding member, to host a contest for North America’s Favorite Pet Insurance Story. During the month of September, pet owners are encouraged to send in stories and photographs that represent their pet insurance experience. The winner will take home $1,000, and a $500 donation will be made in the name of their dog or cat to their favorite local shelter or rescue group. The runner up will receive Apple iPads.

To participate in this contest, submit your story on NAPHIA’s website, http://www. naphia. org.
