The medical techniques used to achieve an embryo donation cycle are not new to reproductive medicine. But only in the last few years have both infertility professionals and patients started to pay more attention to this type of family building, which involves past fertility patients donating their frozen embryos to would-be parent recipients.
The Surrogacy Lawyer, author and radio host Theresa Erickson will be exploring the issues involving embryo donation during her interview with Dr. Craig Sweet on Thursday, September 16 at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST on The Surrogacy Lawyer: Your Guide to IVF and Third Party Family Building, her radio program on Voice America. Dr. Sweet is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and medical director of Specialists in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery (SRMS) of Fort Myers, Florida, which he opened in 1991.
Dr. Sweet graduated with honors from medical school at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU). He went on to complete his internship and residency in obstetrics & gynecology at SIU. Dr. Sweet received his sub-specialty training in reproductive endocrinology, infertility and genetics at the Medical College of Georgia. He has established an innovative embryo donation program, Embryo Donation International, which has many unique features, including an embryo donor database.
