Care2Learn, a six-year-old online education and training company for healthcare professionals, has initiated a philanthropic program called Care2Care. The program kicked off in July and includes a three-pronged approach to giving back to the community at large. Firstly, Care2Learn will offer local non-profit organizations one year of free online continuing education and training. Secondly, Care2Learn will offer free courses to local technical and community colleges. Thirdly, but not least, Care2Learn employees will participate in philanthropic activities such as donation campaigns, group projects and charitable walks.

The program is designed to give back to the local community which has supported and nurtured one of the area’s fastest growing organizations. “We are very appreciative of all the blessings we’ve received, which has brought our company significant success,” says Edie Deane, CEO of Care2Learn. “We hope to give-back some blessings of our own through Care2Care, helping those in our community in need.”

Care2Learn has experienced phenomenal growth in the post-acute niche of healthcare by providing online continuing education and training services to organizations who would like to provide education and training as part of their employee benefit program. Care2Learn’s extensive course library of 2000+ hours of accredited courses for 15 different disciplines is also available to the public through its retail website at www. Care2Learn. com.

Manatee Glens is the first local non-profit to receive a free year of online continuing education and training. The organization, which provides mental health, addiction services, outreach programs and education, has 450 staff members who can take advantage of the two free “Super Courses” offered, get their CEUs and maintain their licensure by taking the online courses offered through Care2Learn’s retail site, www. Care2Learn. com. “We are so grateful. This couldn't have come at a better time for us”, said Mary Ruiz, CEO of Manatee Glens. The retail value of the courses donated to Manatee Glens is $127,000.

Care2Learn employees will also take part in the 4th Annual Manatee Glens “Walk for Life” event on Saturday, September 16 at Sutton Park in Palmetto, Florida. The event is intended to raise awareness of suicide statistics and prevention as well as to provide support for survivors.
