Being true to its name, ("luntian" means "green" in Tagalog) the magazine will not only present awards and bring green content for businesses and people to use, but also makes the magazine medium itself as Earth-friendly as possible by creating and distributing the publication in electronic form-in PDF that is-for free downloading.
"Based on our surveys, people still love reading through glossy magazines just as there is an increasing tech-savvy and environmentally conscious population from a wide age group who access, read and keep information in electronic form in their computers and mobile gadgets for faster retrieval, usage, sharing and collaboration," says Jeunessa.
And so Luntian Magazine merges these preferred properties by our target audience by providing green content, by employing the Web-like and user-friendly properties of a PDF document, and the appeal of a glossy magazine format. The gloss will be provided by monitor screens.
References from Luntian Magazine's articles and advertisers from the mainstream and emerging green industries alike are just a click away eliminating the trip to the magazine rack and then back to the computer, as well as removing the effort of typing keywords and Website addresses, saving time. This increases speed and work efficiency, as someone for example, do research for his building's planned installation of an air conditioning insulation, a green roof system, recycled water plumbing, or solar panels for energy efficiency and savings.
Jeunessa adds, "As a career woman, a mother, and as someone who spends a lot of time trekking mountains, I love to save on costs and run my operations efficiently at work and at home and help restore the health of my planet for my children in the process. If we were to print 6000 copies of Luntian Magazine for each of its quarterly issue composed of, let's say, a minimum of 10 paper sheets of 8.5" x 11", which is about 750 lbs of paper, we would have consumed 15 trees in a year! I'm happy that I'll be saving trees which I love to rest under especially when catching my breath trekking mountains. But if some subscribers want them in printed form, of course they can always print the magazine."
Luntian Magazine uses a simple, existing technology, just like most innovations do.
