PHOENIX, Ariz.– Duraswitch (Nasdaq: DSWT) licensee, GGI (Graham Group International) is providing switch solutions for the medical industry using Duraswitch’s patented PushGateTM technology. A panel that has been developed by GGI for patient monitor/call units for in-home use demonstrates key advantages that Duraswitch technologies offer.

“This product is designed for in-home senior care solutions,” said Peter Graham, co-president of GGI. “Our customer required a top-quality switch. Duraswitch technology offers the dependability they needed, with a crisp, user-friendly feedback that instills confidence for the end-user.”

The in-home, wireless monitor/call unit is controlled by an 18-key panel featuring DuraswitchÂ’s PushGate technology. Use of this home monitor is as simple as turning on the TV, activating the unit which enables connectivity, and ensuring that the wireless home medical devices are close by. This new technology allows homecare professionals to supplement patient home visits with remote visits, which enables patients to maintain health from the comfort of their homes.

“We became a Duraswitch licensee because we recognized the advantages it would bring to our customer base,” said Ian Graham, co-president of GGI. “The inherent combination of advantages of Duraswitch technologies, like the reliability and superior tactile feedback for this application, are an ideal fit for our customers who demand top quality products and technology. For the medical industry, this combination can be crucial.”

“Medical applications are a key target for Duraswitch,” added Tim Kuhn, Duraswitch vice president of business development. “Not only in the home medical market, such as this application, but also for use in the hospital environment where sealing and the tactile feel through a sterile drape or glove becomes even more critical.”

GGI is the largest manufacturer of membrane switches and graphic overlays in Canada, and is quickly becoming a leader across North America. In addition to the medical industry, the quality and reliability of GGI's products has earned them certified supplier status with some of the global leaders in the telecommunications, industrial controls and aerospace industries.
