Sustainability Efforts Lead to Good Works in Orange County

Taller San Jose benefits from the recycling efforts of top environmental consulting firm, TAIT

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) November 17, 2009

More and more of Orange County’s youths are now one step closer to emerging from poverty thanks to the recycling efforts of California based environmental consulting firm, TAIT.

“For most businesses all of that paper would have ended up in the trash,” says Tom Kennedy, of Professional Reprographics (http://www. proreproserv. com) an Irvine-based document production and 3D modeling company.

Tom Kennedy, Cindy Kennedy, Rich and Tom Tait presented the recycling monies to Taller San Jose’s Development Director, Christa Seehan, last week with a check for $872.00.

The Pro Repro-TAIT recycling effort began six months ago through Pro Repro’s Sustainable Reprographics Solutions (http://www. proreproserv. com/SRS. aspx) (SRS) program. SRS provides client site based receptacles, regular pick-ups, sorting, and transportation to the recycling centers for reimbursement. Using the SRS program allows the firm to decide the usage of the funds and be a part of the environmental movement.

As an environmental consultant firm, TAIT’s design, engineering, construction, electrical, training and environmental management teams makes sure to practice what they preach. For the past 40 years TAIT has made providing innovative solutions their forte. Weekly in-house lunchtime seminars discuss the latest industry changes and programs. Topics include: ADA/LEED sustainability design, erosion control, and intro to low development and green building (LEED).

“Giving back is highly valued by our company,” says Kennedy. The efforts of both firms, TAIT (http://www. tait. com) and Pro Repro, allows groups such as Hope Builders to continue their efforts in providing youths opportunities to grow.

Hope Builders, a division of Taller San Jose, (http://www. tallersanjose. org) provides troubled teens with the opportunity to enter 16 week paid training programs in construction, administrative, clinical health care, and office administration. Participating youths acquire hands-on skills while obtaining basic employment principles. Taller San Jose has demonstrated measurable results, 92% of graduates with a criminal record remain out of prison.

TAIT and Pro Repro are proud and excited to be able to work together to benefit the Orange County community. SRS allows the usage of sustainable resources to provide a better life for future generations.
