Jordan Commercial Bank Contributes to the Securing of a Car for the Petra Natural Reserve

Amman, Jordan (PRWEB) June 24, 2006 -—

In their ongoing quest to contribute to both the development of Jordan's tourism sector and its national economy at large, the Jordan Commercial Bank (JCBank) in collaboration with National Paints recently donated a generous sum of JDs 25,000 to Jordan's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

This donation was made in light of elaborate talks held between JCBank's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Michel Al-Sayegh, JCBank's Executive Director Dr. Jawad Hadeed, and Jordan's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities H. E. Mr. Munir Nassar. During the talks held, Mr. Al Sayegh commended the ministry on all the efforts it makes to secure a healthy tourist environment for the inbound tourists. The talks ended where all parties present decided that this donation is to go towards the Petra Natural Reserve.

On his part, Mr. Al Sayegh stated that this donation comes as a direct reflection of the bank's firm beliefs in elevating the level of services provided for tourists visiting Jordan. He affirmed that the sum of money granted to the ministry by JCBank and National Paints is to be used for acquiring a car for the Petra Natural Reserve.

This car will be used as a means to secure an elevated level of comfort for tourists visiting the reserve, for what more comfort is there than that provided by an opportunity to view monumental and picturesque sites from the comfort of a car.

Commenting on the donation made, Mr. Al Sayegh said," Acting on His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision for promoting ongoing development in Jordan, we in cooperation with National Paints presented this donation to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to further enhance the strategic role it plays in bringing about further prosperity for Jordan's economy. We at JCBank firmly believe in bridging gaps between both the private and public sectors of Jordan, therefore we will be presenting ongoing support for the ministry as a token of our appreciation for all what it does. Our strong sense of social responsibility and our loyalty for the Kingdom both generate in us the urge to help in those areas where help is needed, and thus we hope that our actions will make both JCBank and National Paints leading promoters of development."

Accepting the donation with gratitude H. E. Mr. Nassar said, "This generous gesture from JCBank and National Paints only serves to further prove the nature of the strong ties held between public and private entities in Jordan. We appreciate the great level of interest taken by Jordan's financial institutions and private entities in strengthening the role played by tourism in Jordan's development, for tourism does play a pivotal role in advancing the Jordanian Economy, and I thank both JCBank and National Paints for the interest they have taken in our cause. I hope that this marks a fruitful relationship between our end and theirs, and I hope that this partnership will serve to generate similler co operations of this type in the future."
