Livonia, MI (PRWEB) January 10, 2008

American Community Mutual Insurance Company, a leading provider of Individual and Group health insurance, announced today that it has made a $15,000 donation that will benefit three charities. The donations are part of an ongoing effort by the American Community Charity Committee, which spearheads all fundraising, charitable contributions and community involvement events. American Community makes a 100 percent philanthropic company match for all funds that employees raise throughout the year.

“American Community is committed to giving back to the community,” said Leslie Gola, Vice President, Human Resources. “Even though Michigan has recently seen an economic downturn, our employees still find a place in their hearts to show compassion and participate in events throughout the year to benefit our Charity Fund."

In December 2007, American Community employees had an opportunity to nominate their favorite charity to receive the monies raised for the 2007 Charity Fund. Once the nominations were compiled, employees voted for their top three charities. This year, the Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Michigan Chapter; Angela Hospice; and Operation Homefront will each receive $5,000.

“The Charity Committee is responsible for developing and orchestrating our fundraising events throughout the year for our 400 employees,” noted Gola. “Because of the efforts of the Committee, along with the generosity of our employees, American Community is able to make significant chartable donations each year and participate in community events.”
