Imagine LAN announces Tablet PC support for CPR System Health Suite: Tablet PC users can repair non-booting systems with CPR-loaded USB flash drive

CPR System Health Suite is a system repair and data off-loading software program for Windows PCs. It enables desktop, notebook, server and Tablet PC users to restore an inoperable system to a working state, without data or application loss.

(PRWEB) March 14, 2003

(Nashua, NH, March 14, 2003)—imagine LAN, Inc. today announced support for Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition in its CPR System Health Suite. Using CPR System Health Suite and a compact USB flash drive, Tablet PC users now have an effective method of repairing their system from a non-booting system state without data or application loss. The result is a reliable, portable system health solution that can be carried on a key chain.

If the Tablet PCÂ’s firmware supports booting the system from a USB flash drive, CPR System Health Suite creates an ideal repair solution that enables users to boot a distressed, inoperable Tablet PC from the flash drive into the CPR pre-Windows environment for quick repair to working order. Files and folders can also be off-loaded to the USB flash drive for immediate access and preservation on another system. Alternatively, many Tablet PCs currently ship with a hidden partition that enables users to recover a non-booting system to the original factory image, which would result in significant data loss. Additionally, CPR System Health Suite supports non-booting repair and data-offloading capabilities for any desktop, notebook or server PC with the appropriate firmware to allow USB-based booting.

“Although CPR System Health Suite can boot and run from a CD or floppy, a bootable USB flash drive loaded with CPR software complements the compact, lightweight nature of the Tablet PC,” says Jan Olsen, vice president of marketing and sales for imagine LAN. “Additionally, many Tablet PCs do not have a built-in CD-ROM drive. This makes CPR a perfect portable system recovery solution for non-booting Tablet PCs that might otherwise require a full reload or re-image.”

Furthermore, CPR System Health Suite provides a comprehensive set of system protection, repair and diagnostics services that enable Tablet PC users and support providers to perform the following actions:

Safeguard a wide range of system components including the Registry, configuration files, boot level components and DLLs Automatically protect against and reverse faulty software installations Quickly recover inoperable systems when they can no longer boot into Windows Perform Windows or Safe Mode restorations to resolve system conflicts Off-load data files and folders to a USB flash drive or other portable storage device, CD-R or floppy disk Execute one-click profile-based data backup procedures Perform comprehensive system diagnostics and comparisons to facilitate troubleshooting and repair
