The Icebox, an Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel supplier (http://www. iceboxonline. com/?utm_source=prweb&utm_medium=onlinepr&utm_campaign=May292008), was recently named a National Preferred Vendor for the American Cancer Society (ACS). As a preferred vendor, The Icebox will provide promotional products for ACS Relay For Life events nationwide.
"Relay For Life is the world's largest grassroots fundraising event, and we are very excited to bring our relationship with the American Cancer Society to the next level. They are a great organization with great people all working together to help spread awareness of cancer prevention and fund research for treatment and cures," says Jordy Gamson, President and CEO of The Icebox.
As part of their continuing support of the ACS, The Icebox's philanthropic arm, Common Threads (http://www. iceboxonline. com/default. aspx? About the American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service. Locally organized "Relay For Life" events take place across the nation on behalf of the American Cancer Society, with more than three million Americans participating annually. The first Relay For Life event was held in Tacoma, Washington in 1986, inspired by the example of surgeon Dr. Gordy Klatt, who in 1985 walked and ran a track for 24 hours as a way to raise money to fight cancer.
