Pamela Blackburn is now serving the Dallas area as a personal fitness trainer. Ms. Blackburn will be featured in the March 2005 issue of Oxygen Magazine with her own fat loss story. Ms. Blackburn lost 18% bodyfat in ten months, or the equivalent of almost thirty pounds of fat. The surprising message of her story is that we do not need to visually appear obese to indeed be obese. Many of us may look "average" or even "thin" but be classified as overweight or obese after verifying our body composition. Ms. Blackburn feels this is an important yet largely unaddressed issue in America's obesity epidemic.
Inspired by the many positive benefits experienced through her own journey, she has become a certified personal trainer to help others reach their own fitness goals. Services are geared to be convenient and to fit into just about anyone's schedule and budget. "My main interest is in helping people become the best they can and to achieve their fitness goals", says Blackburn. Some options include in-home training for women, "friends in fitness" in which two or more women train together, and online training for all clients. In development are plans for group training for childcare workers and various programs for children. Since children are already being found to show signs of heart disease and type II diabetes, getting more active is very important for their future health and lifespan.
Ms. Blackburn is also available to groups for informational lectures on topics such as motivation, goal-setting and adherence, healthy eating, and the benefits of physical activity.
Ms. Blackburn received her personal training certifications from the renowned Cooper Institute in Dallas.
