New burger restaurant offer diners the opportunity to give back on Saturday, August 8.
Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) July 31, 2009
"Better burger" restaurant Smashburger® is giving its new Tulsa neighbors a chance to give back while enjoying a great meal. The eatery will be donating $1 of every OK Smashburger or OK Smashchicken purchased Saturday, August 8 to the Child Abuse Network of Tulsa. Smashburger opened July 29 at 7392 South Olympia Avenue in the Tulsa Hills Shopping Center near 71st Street South and Highway 75.
The OK Smashburger and OK Smashchicken were created specifically for the Oklahoma market. The OK Smashburger features a one-third or half-pound 100% Angus beef burger smashed and seared on a hot grill, topped with fried pickles, pepper jack cheese, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing on an egg bun.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Child Abuse Network of Tulsa," says Tom Ryan, founder of Smashburger and managing partner and chief concept officer of Consumer Capital Partners (CCP), the investment firm behind the restaurant. "We're passionate about getting involved in the community and think this is a great opportunity to serve others in need."
The Child Abuse Network (CAN) exists to reduce the trauma that a child abuse investigation can pose for the child. Before CAN came into being, children frequently endured stressful examinations and numerous interviews by various agencies, often in cold, sterile facilities.
CAN delivers a highly effective alternative, bringing multiple agencies together in a single, safe and comforting environment for children in crisis. CAN enables medical, mental health, investigative and legal professionals to work together under one roof, to provide less traumatic investigation and to determine whether child abuse has occurred. "We are excited and appreciative to Smashburger for choosing the Child Abuse Network as their benefiting non-profit," says Barbara Findeiss, CAN's Executive Director. "Community contributions are critical to us in providing services to children involved in child abuse investigations. We welcome Smashburger to Tulsa and are honored to have them as a partner."
Along with its savory burgers, Smashburger also serves up delicious Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs, and Smashsalads, with sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries. Burger lovers can pair their meals with local beer, wine, Häagen-Dazs shakes, and root beer floats.
