Hurleyville, NY (PRWEB) October 3, 2004 -

– Ann Hampton Callaway will give a "cabaret performance" to benefit the PRASAD Project on Saturday, October 16 at the Dolphin House, a private estate in East Hampton, NY. The evening begins at 5:00pm with cocktails, a benefit dinner buffet and silent auction allowing benefactors to lend their support while enjoying an evening filled with the illustrious tunes of Ann Hampton Callaway. The theme, “Celebrate on a High Note,” speaks to the musician and the success of the PRASAD Project.

Callaway, a multi platinum and award winning songwriter, will perform while guests bid on various works of art and antiquities. Callaway, a diverse songstress and pianist, has been lauded by notables such as Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon and Wynton Marsalis. Her most highly regarded accomplishments include her performance in the hit Broadway musical “Swing” and her writing and singing of the theme song for the hit series, “The Nanny.” Callaway, accompanied by Kerry Werner, an award winning jazz pianist, will no doubt entrance the audience with her romantic tunes and rich voice, which is her contribution to the project.

Marilyn Herst, Development Director for the PRASAD Project and a long time supporter, is inspired by the beneficial results and new developments in PRASAD’s programs. “We are all being offered a significant opportunity to connect with and support our global family in ways we could never do individually,” says Herst. “Our goals this year are to expand our donor base, visit many new communities, continue writing grants, and enjoy the opportunities opened to us by our dear PRASAD friends…”

Since the 1960s, The PRASAD Project has been honoring their commitment to children and their families in various countries. By supplying much needed health care to villages having no viable resources for immunization and dental care, among the many needs of these communities, the project has given families in underdeveloped towns in India, Mexico and the United States, a chance to live a longer and healthier life.

Some of PRASADÂ’s most recent projects include supporting Hirvepada, a small village in India, in their efforts to harvest rain water; developing an HIV program in the Tansa Valley in India; and promoting the ChildrenÂ’s Dental Health Program(CDHP) with a mobile dental clinic in New York and Californiz.

PRASAD's Children's Dental Health Program has served 40,000 children and provided 128,000 procedures for underpriviledged children in New York State since 1996, with their Mobile Dental Clinic traveling to 17 sites working in partnership with schools, hospitals, and head-start programs

With a focus on sustainable development and health care, PRASAD provides the support and resources to help people help themselves, their community, and their natural surroundings. With the help of staunch supporters such as Phylicia Rashad, Steven Rockefeller and Harriette Cole, to name a few, the PRASAD Project will continue to be the leader in providing quality self-reliance education and support to the many underdeveloped countries around the world.

The PRASAD Project is an international not-for-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life of economically disadvantaged people by honoring human dignity and fostering self-reliance. The organization receives financial support from international donors and a range of private, corporate and non-profit sources.
