Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) October 9, 2006

Janet Edmunson M. Ed. caregiving expert, wellness professional, and author of Finding Meaning with Charles: Caregiving with Love Through a Degenerative Disease, will be traveling from her home in Danvers, MA to Phoenix, AZ from October 26-30, 2006. She will be addressing two different groups while in Phoenix, one focused upon Parkinson’s and the other on PSP and MSA.

Ms. Edmunson will be speaking with groups of caregivers in order to provide support and information for them as they care for loved ones. She offers a positive system for staying strong when in the challenging role of caregiver for a loved one. Using caregiving affirmations, Janet learned to "make meaning" of the situation she faced when Charles, her beloved husband of 20 years, was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, or PSP. Since Janet has been both a caregiver and healthcare professional, she has a dual perspective to offer.

On Friday, October 27, from 10:30 to 11:30 am, Janet will address the Parkinson Support Group, at The Mohammad Ali Parkinson Center, 500 W. Thomas Road, Suite 720, Phoenix, AZ. Then on Monday, October 30, from 1:00 to 3:00 p. m., Janet will speak at the PSP and MSA Educational Seminar, at Beatitudes Center DOAR, 555 West Glendale Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. Please contact: Kris Watts, Support Group Leader, 602-406-4931 to learn more about either of these meetings.

As the Director of Wellness for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Janet has made a successful career of assisting others in creating a mindset of health and well-being and she knows this is a crucial piece of optimum health. Many family caregivers are in need of support, fellowship, and information, in order to remain effective in their roles at home and in their community. Janet’s appearances are designed to provide both a positive environment and practical information.

Her new book, Finding Meaning With Charles: Caregiving with Love through a Degenerative Disease, has been endorsed by Dr. Stephen Covey, author of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Hospice, and by the Executive Director of the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, which is a Parkinson’s plus disease. Her website offers more information at www. janetedmunson. com as well as ordering information for this wonderful new resource for caregivers.
