Commencement Key Note Speaker is Lieutenant General Robert Caslen, Commanding General, Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) August 14, 2010

Grantham University, an online university (http://www. grantham. edu/) dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults for nearly 60 years, is hosting its annual Commencement Ceremony honoring the Class of 2010 in Kansas City, Missouri. Commencement will take place at 11 a. m. on Saturday, August 14 at the KCI-Expo Convention Center, 11730 NW Ambassador Drive.

“Because Grantham’s programs and courses are 100 percent online (http://www. grantham. edu/gu-admissions/), our graduates rarely have the chance to interact with staff and faculty face-to-face,” said Cynthia Hoss, PhD, president of Grantham University. “Not only is Commencement a special time for our graduates and their families, it is an exciting time for Grantham faculty and staff because they get to meet the students they’ve motivated and encouraged throughout their degree programs.”

Graduates will be arriving in Kansas City from all over the country to walk across the stage and be recognized for the hard work and dedication they’ve invested in furthering their education. The ceremony will include remarks from key note speaker, Lieutenant General Robert L. Caslen, Jr., Commanding General, Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; retired Chief Master Sergeant John Harris of the Louisiana Air National Guard, Grantham’s Outstanding Graduate of the Year; and Class of 2010 graduate, Lieutenant Junior Grade Christopher Martin, Communicator, Security Manager and Information Assurance Officer for the Naval Submarine Support Center in Norfolk, Virginia.
A special thank you goes to Union Bank of Missouri and Cengage Learning for their sponsorship of this year’s Commencement Ceremony.

Over 80 percent of the graduates attending this year’s ceremony are active duty service members, veterans, retired military or military spouses. One-hundred and seventeen graduates will be recognized and more than 700 family members and guests will be in attendance.
