Lippincott Williams & Wilkins will launch Alzheimer's CCare Today (http://www. lww. com/product/?1936-3001), a quarterly journal aimed at offering support and guidance to those caring for persons with Alzheimer's and other dementias. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, part of Wolters Kluwer Health, responded to the need for a practical evidence-based resource that caregivers can use in the field.

Alzheimer's Care Today (http://www. lww. com/product/?1936-3001) will feature pull-out guides that can be distributed to families, clients and support personnel, a column dedicated to sources of assistance, and world-expert contributors and guest editors. The peer-reviewed journal, publishing this month, offers expert information for all professionals across the continuum of care. The first issue will be showcased at the Lippincott Williams & Wilkins booth during the 15th Annual Alzheimer's Association Dementia Care Conference held August 26-29, 2007 in Chicago.

More than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and cases are projected to increase as the population ages. By 2050, the Alzheimer's Association projects the US could have as many as 16 million people with Alzheimer's, according to 2007 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures published by Alzheimer's Association.

"As the need and demands on caregivers increase, Alzheimer's Care Today offers support for the challenges they face," says Carol Bowlby Sifton BA, BScOT, ODH, Editor. "Our focus is on enabling persons with dementia and their care partners to have the best possible quality of life."

The new journal was formerly Alzheimer's Care Quarterly. Free access to current and past articles of Alzheimer's CARE TODAY (http://www. lww. com/product/?1936-3001) and Alzheimer's Care Quarterly are available with a paid individual subscription.
