Many Dentists hoping to increase their ever shrinking profit margins are now electing to send their dental lab work to China. Chinese dental labs have teams of workers around the clock to ensure that the work can be done and shipped back to the US within a few days. The issue says, Florida Dentist, Dr Craig Spodak is that there is very little in the way of quality control and it has been found that the restorations contain nickel, lead, and many other potentially harmful materials.

While the CDC determined at the time that there was no clear threat to patients, ADA President Mark Feldman, DMD, stated, “We are still conducting our own test of dental prostheses and will take the CDC up on its offer to evaluate the results.”**
