Primary Organic Therapy Inc. is Approved to Operate a Medical Marijuana Dispensary in Maine

Maine’s initial round of medical marijuana dispensary approvals is now complete, culminating with the acceptance of a non-profit dispensary in district 7 that cites the importance of education, community, and compliance.

Machias, ME (PRWEB) September 1, 2010

Primary Organic Therapy, a non-profit medical marijuana dispensary, proudly announces their selection by Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services for operation in Whitneyville to serve Washington and Hancock counties. The new facility will be located at 90 Community Drive in Sanford, and will open for business in December of 2010.

“We are pleased for the opportunity to serve the citizens of Maine by offering alternative medicinal care to the community,” says Derek Brock, founder of Primary Organic Therapy. “Our focus is upon patient education to introduce new treatment options for a variety of ailments that may not be fully served by traditional pharmaceutical methods.”

Primary Organic Therapy will be providing more than ten different types of genetic varieties of marijuana. These varieties are commonly referred to as “strains” and each of exhibits different medicinal properties. These different medicine types offer a wide array of treatments for depression, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, cancer, arthritic pain, glaucoma, nausea, anorexia, and mental disorders such as autism and Alzheimer’s disease.

“While we recognize that there are many pill-based treatment plans available, we have seen a large trend towards herbal and organic treatment options. We believe good American citizens are becoming aware of the adverse long-term effects of digesting manufactured medicine, and the growing list of unexpected side effects. We are pleased to be offering quality alternative medicine that can be obtained in a legal and controlled manner,” continues Mr. Brock. “All medicine dispensed at our location will be produced under strict quality assurance and cutting-edge testing procedures to assure consistent potency and availability. We’ve carefully spent our time investigating dispensary models in other legal states and feel we have developed superior methods to provide Maine reliable care options.”

Primary Organic Therapy’s application states that a trained physician will be on site during all operating hours to provide recommendation cards for qualifying patients, and to answer patient questions. Educational materials will be freely distributed to potential patients looking to expand their treatment options. A full featured website will also be made available enabling patients to learn about currently available marijuana medicines from the privacy of their homes. In the interest of maintaining the highest level of legal compliance, Internet location technology will be utilized to restrict website access only to residents of legal medical marijuana states.

Mr. Brock finalizes, “Together with the state of Maine we are taking bold new steps in patient care. Education, community safety, and legal compliance are our highest priorities.”
