Internet talk radio show, Army Wife Talk Radio (AWTR), hosted by Tara Crooks, will air an interview with Dr. Scott Haltzman, M. D. Dr. Haltzman is the author of a new book THE SECRETS OF HAPPILY MARRIED MEN.
THE SECRETS OF HAPPILY MARRIED MEN stresses that men must take an active role in building a relationship – and if they don’t their marriages will fall apart. At a time when civilian divorce rates are nearing 50%, and research shows that about 20 percent of military marriages fall apart within two years when one spouse has been sent off to war, Haltzman’s advice seems well needed. Crooks says, “We know these things happen. We live this life.”
Dr. Haltzman will relate the show to the military wives, but stress and encourage they listen to the show and read the book together as a couple. Crooks and her husband Kevin, CPT US ARMY, read Haltzman’s book in preparation for the interview. “I think my favorite part was when he tells the guys to think of their marriage as a job and start making a to-do list – if you think about it, it really works!” says Crooks. Questions ranging from healthy conflict, to listening, to sex were proposed to Haltzman during the interview. “He really knows how to relate issues in men’s terms, so that we can really understand,” Kevin Crooks commented, “This is great advice to strengthen all military marriages.”
