Medgar Evers College Hosts “Pause…Breathe…Renew: A Women’s Health Conference”

On Saturday March 25th, Medgar Evers College will host the “Pause…Breathe…Renew,” Women’s Health Conference. The Conference is free and open to the public. Free screenings for cholesterol, oral hygiene, glaucoma, and hypertension will be offered to participants, as well as several giveaways.
There will also be a free continental breakfast and box lunch. The conference will be held in Founders Auditorium at 1650 Bedford Avenue, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. For more information and/or to RSVP, please call Rachelle Taylor, at 718-270-6975.
“There are so many health issues affecting women these days, and relatively few educational resources available to them” said Rachelle Taylor, Development Officer, and organizer of the event. “We [at the College] wanted to provide that resource to our alumni and to residents of our local community.”
The Conference will feature panels on diabetes, asthma, sickle cell anemia, heart disease, and sexually transmitted diseases, particularly HIV/AIDS. Additionally information will be distributed on holistic healing, mental health, exercise, mammograms, OB/GYN problems, and financial literacy.
