Fairway shoppers get top dogs

White-hots, inc. announces that Fairway Market will be the first food market in the New York metropolitan area to feature Zweigle’s “white hotdogs” and other world-class products.

Rochester, New York (PRWEB) June 5, 2003 -

Hots, inc. will introduce New York to Zweigle’s “white hotdogs” and select other Zweigle's hotdogs at Fairway Market, the Market “Like No Other Market”. White-hots, inc. Company President and Co-Founder Nicholas Capanna states: “Fairway is bringing us onboard this week. We couldn’t choose a better partner with whom to launch Zweigle’s small-town but world-class products in the New York metropolitan area. New Yorkers who are bold enough to try a Zweigle's white hotdog will never look at hotdogs the same way again. As for what makes these white dogs so special, it's their sensational taste! Upstate visitors bring coolers packed with Zweigle's home with them; beg their family and friends to pack them in dry ice and ship them across country; and, soon will be ordering from us online across the fifty States and Puerto Rico. There's nothing in the world that compares to a Zweigle's white hotdog. What most people who love white dogs don't even realize is that there's a potential health benefit to eating them over a red dog."

ZweigleÂ’s white hotdogs have no sodium nitrite added (thus their white color). Why is this important? Capanna states: "Studies show chronic consumption of high levels of such additives may cause serious health problems including cancers. So, our question to all health-conscious New Yorkers is: Now that you can enjoy a tastier white hotdog that is also nitrite free, why would you feed yourself, your family and your friends anything else?"

As for launching the introduction of Zweigle’s products into New York with Fairway Market, Capanna states: “A recent visit with its management convinced us that Fairway is a bold, exciting, cutting edge purveyor of the finest products available in the world. Since Zweigle's hot dogs are in a class of their own, it's important to us to form retail partnerships with stores that are also head and shoulders above their competition. We’re very pleased that our entry into New York will be with Fairway. Living in New York just got a lot better for hotdog lovers. They just don't know it yet and that's the fun of it!"

In 1880, C. Wilhelm Zweigle and his wife Josephine opened a small sausage shop in Rochester, New York. That was the humble beginning of what would lead five generations of family to dedicate their lives to making Zweigle’s a Rochester institution. In 1925, Zweigle’s, Inc. introduced their first “white hotdog” product, which created quite a local buzz. In generations since, Rochestarians have made the Zweigle’s white hotdog not only a favorite food, but also a source of local pride. (One they were perfectly content to secretly enjoy as a benefit of living in their city by Lake Ontario while little red wieners became America’s favorite food with an unsophisticated American public.) The survival and growth of Zweigle’s Inc. from a small sausage shop into a multi-million dollar company nearly 125 years old is a testament to the Zweigle’s family, their sensational innovation of America’s favorite food, and their dedication to old-fashioned quality and wholesomeness in a world of mass merchandised inferior franks.
