Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Hot Psychology Magazine announced its launch today, meeting its target date of January 5, 2005. The magazine, currently only available in PDF format via download from its website (www. hot-psychology. com) and available for $4.95 retail per issue ($27.00 for 6-month subscription, $55.00 for a 1-year subscription), is designed to address the issues that “make humans human” and is intended for the 18-35ish set from all walks of life.

The magazine addresses psychological issues by way of eight different sections; all of which feature articles with a “human twist.” The sections include technology, sex, news and views, business and finance, features, culture, sports and health, and have such names as “Tech Notes,” “Close Encounters,” “The Sports Fan,” “My News, My Views, ” “To Your Health,” “Our Culture,” “Business & Finance,” and “Feature Presentation” as section titles. The inaugural issue of Hot Psychology Magazine is being offered as complimentary and is currently available for download from the magazine’s website.

Hot Psychology is the brainchild of psychology grad student and graphic artist Jason Zorn from Springfield, Missouri, and managed by entrepreneur and freelance author Jim Idema from Grand Rapids, Michigan; both of whom have been cultivating the magazine in one form or another since Spring of 2004. The pair met by way of a posting on Freelancewriting. com for freelance writers.

“IÂ’m very excited about Hot Psychology Magazine,” states Idema, who is currently Managing Editor of the magazine. “WeÂ’ve put together quite a team of talented writers and editors who have worked very hard to make this the exciting product we believe it is.” When asked how he believes his intended audience will react to this magazine, Idema answers, “We present topics that tend to ‘reach out and grab youÂ’ using the wide range of talents of some extremely gifted writers and editors. I think our target audience will notice that flair and practically beg for more.”
