School systems are geared towards having kids listen, memorize, study, and take tests,” laments Assaraf.
“The way our educational system is crafted, every child sees a test score that reflects they did wrong, what they didn’t know, instead of illustrating what they do know! These judgments pigeonhole our children into certain stereotyped behaviors and ideas of self.”
As parents, we can use positive reinforcement with our children to create healthy self-esteem and then truly prepare them for what they will face on their own.
