Inside Beauty, a new trade show and educational conference for the beauty, health, and wellness industries, announces that a virtual whoÂ’s who in the nutraceutical and personal care markets have joined its inaugural Advisory Board. The Inside Beauty 2005 Advisory Board includes:

•Anthony L. Almada, B. Sc., M. Sc., President and Founder of IMAGINutrition, and natural products pioneer since 1975. IMAGINutrition is an innovation and science marketing think tank focusing upon nutritional technologies, IP, clinical research validation, and science-driven media campaigns. The company is currently engaged in over 12 clinical studies in various universities and research centers around the world, is prosecuting several patents and is functioning as a technology transfer entity for process, composition and utility patents in the human and animal dietary supplement, cosmeceutical, and functional beverage and food sectors. In 1989 Mr. Almada introduced vanadyl sulfate and in 1991 the first thermogenic product to the market. In 1992 he co-founded Experimental and Applied Sciences (EAS), now the largest sports nutrition company on a global scale.

•Tom Clough, Managing Director of Health Strategy Consulting, (HSC), founded the company in 1999. Mr. Clough is a recognized industry expert and leader and provides strategic advice to companies wishing to grow in the health industries. His company’s service range from strategy development to complete implementation, deals with partnering and licensing strategies, competitive intelligence, market trend and forecast reporting, and customized market research. To-date, HSC has performed over 300 projects with clients across the globe. Prior to founding HSC, Mr. Clough spent five years as a Managing Consultant with Gemini Consulting and led projects with various clients in the chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals, computers, and telecommunications industries.

•Lynda M. Doyle, Director of Business Development for DSM Nutritional Products, Inc., has 16 years of experience in the dietary supplement, food and pharmaceutical industries. She joined DSM when it was Roche Vitamins Inc. in June 1996 as Coloration Project Manager for the Food Business, concentrating on carotenoids as food colorants. In 1998, Ms. Doyle joined the Dietary Supplement and Health Group as Sr. Marketing Manager and became Director of Marketing for New Ingredients and Business Development in 2001. Prior to joining DSM, she managed sales territories for BASF's Human Health and Nutrition Group and for EM Industries' Fine Chemicals Division. Ms. Doyle currently serves as Sr. Vice President for the Drug, Chemical and Associated Technologies Association (DCAT).

•Darrin C. Duber-Smith, President of Green Marketing, has served in both full-time and advisory capacities for a large number of organizations in a variety of different industries, including consumer goods manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, service providers, publishers, and event producers. With specialized expertise in the natural products/wellness/environmental sustainability marketplace, he is uniquely positioned to offer expertise to both large, more mature organizations as well as smaller, less formalized companies experiencing high growth rates. •Loren D. Israelsen is President of LDI Group, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in dietary supplements, functional foods and phytomedicine issues. While acting as Vice President of Strategic Development, of Nature’s Way Products, he engineered agreements with Efamol Ltd., Madaus AG, and Dr. Willmar Schwabe, GmbH, to bring phytomedicines to the United States. He has been heavily involved in the ongoing political and regulatory issues facing the supplement industry. Mr. Israelsen has also served as industry liaison to the Food and Drug Administration’s Expert Advisory Committee to Ephedra and as advisor to the National Institutes of Health’s Office of Dietary Supplements. Since 1992, he has served as Executive Director of the Utah Natural Products Alliance, which was instrumental in the development and passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994.

•Gérard Pilley is a Pharmacist of the University of Paris and has been a professional in the pharmaceutical industry for 30 years. After a few years of experience with Laboratories LABAZ (now SANOFI), he embarked on a successful career of managing, creating and acquiring laboratories in France and abroad. He has been a member of several government commissions working on drugs and health products and has been an elected member of the National Council of Pharmacy for more than 10 years. He holds several patents for drugs currently on the market and has been a speaker at the Foundation for Innovation in Medicine (who coined the word Nutraceutical) since 1986. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of several professional magazines. Gérard Pilley was awarded the honor of “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite” by the French Ministry of Health and was promoted as “Officer” in 1998.

In addition to the two-day conference, Inside Beauty will also offer a Keynote Address by Cheryl Forberg, an anti-aging expert and nutritionist as well as best-selling author of “Stop the Clock! Cooking: Defy Aging & Eat the Foods You Love," on Tuesday, September 27th at 12 Noon.
