Erie Plastics Introduces Pop N' Shake™ Closure Technology for the Mainstream Beverage and Health Drink Markets, Coupled with an Efficient Turnkey Solution for Beverage Manufacturers

An advanced, dispensing closure technology, Erie Plastics' Pop N' Shake™ instantly provides consumers with a flavor-enhanced, fresh beverage and health benefits, too. Market applications span the bottled water, juice, tea, coffee and dairy beverage sectors, as well as nutraceuticals and organics.

Erie, PA (PRWEB) July 18, 2007

Diving into summer on a fun beverage note, Erie Plastics has introduced Pop N' Shake™, a new, patent-pending closure technology allowing consumers to create their own "blended" drinks on demand.

How does it work? Ingredients dispense with the turn of a tamper-evident dust cover and subsequent "pop" of an inner-cap chamber, allowing consumers to watch a favorite flavor, vitamin or mineral fuse with their preferred bottled drink. A few shakes and moments later, they enjoy a great tasting beverage fortified with healthy, active ingredients.

Adding a spark of creativity to beverage consumption, Pop N' Shake™ closures are customizable to meet a wide range of beverage needs across the bottled water, juice, dairy, tea, coffee and health drink markets. The closure is also well suited for nutraceutical and organic applications.

Erie Plastics recently debuted Pop N' Shake™ at the 2007 Packaging Summit Expo and Conference, where response was very positive and product demonstrations drew applause from audiences.

To provide a "turnkey" solution for beverage manufacturers, the company recently completed development and installation of a fill, seal and assembly production line in a food-grade processing/filling white room, which is also equipped to run leak testing and metal detection operations.

"We've actually been working under the radar for some time on our unique Pop N' Shake™ technology," said P. C. Hoop Roche, Chairman and CEO of Erie Plastics. "Our strategy was to focus on superior design and full functionality, and to launch the closure once we established a vertically-integrated closure system and turnkey solution for beverage producers. From what we've already heard from a number of global beverage and nutraceutical companies, Erie Plastics' Pop N' Shake™ closure is in the lead when it comes to both functionality and readiness for market."

Key features of Erie Plastics' Pop N' Shake™ closure include:
•A PET chamber that works with both liquid and powder
•Dual tamper-evident design
•A first-of-its-kind, patent-pending moisture and oxygen barrier providing secure separation from active and inactive ingredients.

Pop N' Shake™ closures are currently available in a 26 mm size. Brian Masterson, Senior Project Engineer at Erie Plastics, who spearheaded the Pop N' Shake™ product development and refinement process for the company, indicates that 38 mm Pop N' Shakes™ are currently in final development and slated to be available in late August.

The original concept for Pop N' Shake™ was introduced to Erie Plastics by Pop N' Shake Development Company, LLC, a start-up company founded by David Sandoval and Whitney Richards, who will collaborate with Erie Plastics to market Pop N' Shake™ to the organic foods and supplement industries.
