Former Air Force Chaplain and Retired Psychologist Pens Inspiring Essays on Spirituality

The Care and Feeding of the Spirit, and Other Selected Essays by Harold D. Jester explores the role of faith in everyday life.

Southwick, MA (PRWEB) August 15, 2007

Dr. Harold D. Jester's new book, The Care and Feeding of the Spirit, and Other Selected Essays, offers timeless thoughts to help readers deal with every-day issues. Jester wrote most of the book during a 21-year period when he was the owner and director of a church-related counseling center.

Spirituality, says the author, is much too important to be left to the professionals, and he goes on to explore the sense of the divine in daily experience.

Some of these highly acclaimed essays have already been published; others were delivered as public lectures. Most were offered as handouts at the counseling center where Jester worked. The book is meant to be opened anywhere, and it includes suggestions for further reading.

Written in warm, compassionate prose, Jester explores such topics as whether or not gays should be allowed to marry, why humans can be divine and Jesus can be human, and the relationship between religion, philosophy and science. Moving and important, these are essays that will not only be welcomed in religious and healthcare communities, but can also touch the lives of the secular community as well.
