New leader at Reno software company

Reno, Nev. (PRWEB) May 7, 2009

PC-Doctor Inc., the global leader in PC system health and diagnostic software, today announced the appointment of former Lenovo Group executive Steve Petracca as chief executive officer, president and member of the company's board of directors.

Petracca succeeds Suzanna Mak, who has been the company's president and CEO since 2003. Mak will remain with the company as chairwoman of the board of directors.

"Building on the strong foundation that Suzanna put in place, Steve's depth of experience in the PC industry will allow us to extend the reach of our new technologies and increase the ROI for our customers and everyone who uses their products," said Aki Korhonen, PC-Doctor's founder. "Of particular note are new cloud-centric technologies that allow our customers to grow their revenues in addition to reducing warranty and service delivery costs."

"Steve has been on the crest of the growing trend toward PC monetization, and will leverage his vision, energy and experience to create deeper partnerships with OEM customers worldwide," said Mak.

"PC-Doctor's brand, its strong relationships with top PC OEMs, and its innovative contextual marketing technologies give the company an excellent platform for expansion," said Petracca. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build on PC-Doctor's past accomplishments and orchestrate the company's continued growth through delivery of exceptional products and services."

Petracca comes to PC-Doctor from the Lenovo Group, which purchased IBM's PC business in 2005. As a senior vice president, Petracca established Lenovo's software and peripherals business. He also held senior executive positions in corporate business development and strategic alliances.

Before joining Lenovo, Petracca spent two years as CEO and president of BuilderDepot, Inc., an e-commerce startup. He previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing for Pemstar, an electronic manufacturing services company, and as chairman and CEO of Reply Corp., a computer manufacturer.

Petracca holds a master's degree in business administration from Florida's Nova University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado.
