Pima Medical Institute's Dental Assistant Students Looking For A Few Good Mouths
The Dental Assistant students at Pima Medical Institute, 780 Bay Blvd, Suite 101 in Chula Vista are looking for a few good (and bad) mouths to teach proper brushing and flossing techniques during February, National ChildrenÂs Dental Health Month.
(PRWEB) February 4, 2005
Teachers, or others who work with children, are encouraged to call PMI at 619-425-3200 to set up an appointment to have the dental assistant students interact with the children while providing useful information on proper oral hygiene.
ÂOur dental assistant students provide a great service by showing children the importance of proper dental hygiene, said Sue Kirtland, campus director for the Chula Vista campus. ÂHowever, the hands-on experience the DA students receive makes this a great teaching opportunity as well. ItÂs definitely a win/win situation for everyone.Â
The training period for dental assistants is 30 weeks for day classes for day classes, or 33 weeks for evening classes. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for Dental Assistants is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations through 2012.
PMIÂs Chula Vista campus also has programs for Medical Assistants, Medical Administrative Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Radiographers, Respiratory Therapists and Veterinary Assistants.
