SINGLE MOMZ MAGAZINE STARTED OUT AS AN ONLINE MAGAZINE IN 2001 BUT IS EXPANDING TO PRINT IN 2002

Single Momz Magazine, an online magazine dedicated to educating, empowering, and entertaining today's single mother will venture to the world of print publishing beginning mid-February 2002.

(PRWEB) January 10, 2002

After nine successful months on the Internet, Single Momz Magazine (www. singlemomzmag. web. com), established by veteran journalist and single mother, Feona Sharhran Huff, is expanding its editorial outreach to the print world. The hard copy version of Single Momz will kick off as a one-pager within New York based Black Reign News in mid-February -- with plans of branching off as its own full-scale print publication.

“Ultimately, my goal is to publish Single Momz as a 60-plus page print magazine that will give single m others the opportunity of reading it from cover to cover while en route to work, waiting in long lines, or simply sitting in the living room for some much-needed quality literature,” explains Feona.

The print one-pager will offer many of the same departments that are available online, including Personal Finance, Fashion & Beauty, Entertainment, Kidz Korner, Contests, and a mini feature story. However, the editorial content will be strictly original.

“If people read Single Momz articles online, I want them to get a different spin in print,” insists Feona. “And if the print version is readers’ first introduction to my magazine, I want it to entice them to check it out online. Either way, I want to encourage readership.”

Single Momz was launched online in March 2001 as a service to all the single mothers around the world who are overtly ignored by the majority of parenting magazines, and by people in general who deem single mothers as a disgrace to two-parent households. Also, it wanted to dispel some myths passed down for years by closed-minded individuals who believe that if a child isnÂ’t raised by a mother and father, he/she will lack a strong

Self-esteem and wind up a misfit, displaced in the world.

“Single mothers and their children are so much more than what society considers them. These women are CEOs, judges, doctors, authors, philanthropists, and much more. Their children are happy, healthy, and budding leaders of tomorrow,” affirms Feona. “I was raised by an incredible, hardworking single mother who instilled solid values in me, and I turned out wonderful. I unfortunately know some people who were raised in two-parent homes and they’re mentally and emotionally in shambles. Now, if those with the power to help my parental population decline to acknowledge and assist us, I will.”

The print version of Single Momz is available in New York wherever Black Reign News is sold or via subscription. For more information, contact Feona at 347-661-5394 or e-mail her at publisher_singlemomzmag@yahoo. com.
