Culturally, family is the core of the Latino community, as it represents traditional values such as respect, unity, loyalty, and integrity.

El Planeta, the largest circulating Spanish-language newspaper in the region, and Massachusetts General Hospital, one of the country’s best health providers, bring you Salud y Familia 2006 (Health and the Family 2006), an event during Hispanic Heritage month.

In order to bring all types of healthcare alternatives to the Hispanic community, “Health and the Family” will offer an array of services and organizations that will aid in raising awareness for and improving the quality of life of Hispanic families. The event will also provide an opportunity for companies and organizations to offer their products and services to this community.

As health is linked to quality of life, “Health and the Family” will host not only healthcare providers but also small businesses, educational institutions, real estate companies, financial services providers, artists, non-profits, and faith-based organizations, among others. The event will be full of information which will be presented in an entertaining and welcoming environment through a theme consisting of “the game of life.”

After the unexpected success of concerts held at Boston University’s Agganis Arena by Latino artists such as Juan Gabriel and Juan Luis Guerra, the arena has shown continued interest in this untapped market. The organization is sure that Salud y Familia will raise more awareness of the arena.

When: Sunday, October 8th 12 to 5 p. m.
