Big Bend Community College Offers New Online Courses - Web Based Career Training now Easier than Ever with Self-paced, Non-credit Programs

In response to overwhelming interest in online, non-credit, career training courses, Big Bend Community College has partnered with Gatlin Education Services to provide programs in healthcare, business, construction technology, internet - design and technical, IT certifications and video game design and development.

In response to overwhelming interest in online, non-credit, career training courses, Big Bend Community College has partnered with Gatlin Education Services to provide programs in healthcare, business, construction technology, internet - design and technical, IT certifications and video game design and development.

The new non-credit online courses are designed for individuals looking to switch career paths, obtain advanced training and certifications, or for first time job seekers who need specialized training. The courses are all open enrollment and self-paced, and students are paired with a personal instructor. Courses take an average of 90 days to complete and provide training for entry-level positions.

Labor market information released by the Washington Employment Security Commission finds that many popular occupations are expected to experience significant growth through 2010, including those in the ‘hot trend’ areas of medical assistants, computer support, medical records and health information administration, and pharmacy technicians.

According to the statistics mentioned above, medical assistants are expected to experience 22.4 percent growth. Dental assistant positions are expected to expand by 22.5 percent, while medical transcription openings should open 21.7 percent.

Job seekers can be trained in these occupations by taking online courses offered through Big Bend Community College via Gatlin Education Services. They offer certification programs in the fields mentioned above, as well as many other high interest areas.
